Adlehyde

The party is at a stand still in Adlehyde, not knowing how to aid Rudy. Well, go to Rosetta and talk to Mariel in the southeast. She wants to go to the Forest Mound southeast of here, and when you do she teleports 1000 years back in time.

Tarjon Village – 1000 Years Earlier

As you go south, you can go left and right to explore for items like Crest Graphs and Full Libra. Furthest south is a group of Elws that greet you and bring you to the head around here. Emiko will look at Rudy but not be able to do anything. Cecilia and Jack talk to Emiko in the basement and eventually Mariel comes down to talk about the Guardian Blade and using that could fix Rudy’s arm.

When you get the chance to leave, search the village for treasures first (and you don’t have the aid of the Radar). Anyway, there is a Magic Carrot in the house you’re in, north of this for a Mega Berry and east of this for a Mystic Berry. By this treasures is a hut with four elders, one of them gives you the Spirit Key. Check the southwest for a Sunbird Hat and Blue Ribbon and then save and leave.

Forest Prison

Southwest of Tarjon is the Forest Prison. Head left and southwest for the first few areas. Soon you’ll meet an animal, so use the Wand and it tells you to just go left or right through the maze ahead. So begin going south, then east, then north for a Crest Graph. Go back south and continue with that east path until it goes south (this will be a three way). Keep heading south until you reach a Crest Graph.

Go north three screens and east when you see a more open area with a cut log in front of you. You’ll reach a Warrior Vest and go north for a Mirage Coat. South a little and east for a Crest Graph. Go back to the Mirage Coat chest, and go right from here. You’ll see a treasure and save point under you but you will have to continue going east to the wall, then south to jump off the ledge. Grab the Prairie Coat and then go east for a long while and north to return to the area with the save point. Keep going east until you can go south, and then northwest to a huge chest. Don’t do anything yet, but go northwest to get a Crest Graph and save point. Then use the Spirit Key on the big chest and follow the spirit to see the Life Rune Odoryuk, the Guardian of Life. Do not cast Escape – instead move to the previous fourway and then go south all the way until you exit. Head south and east to Vassim’s La.b

Vassim’s Lab

Save and get the Mega Berry on the west part of the building, and go in. A Duplicator is in here, and upstairs for a Magic Carrot and Hyper Gear.

Talk to Vassim about what to do. He has a solution, but you need the Life Guardian (which you have) and the Illusion Guardian (in De La Metallica).

Curan Abbey

Teleport to Forest Mound to get back to your world. Then teleport to Curan Abbey.

Use the Teardrop in the north, and go through this all the way to where you fought the Book Monster Nelgaul. In the northwest of this room is the De La Metalica book, and it teleports you there.

De La Metalica

Go east and into the room. The next area you’ll go up and down a few sets of stairs and exit in the southwest. In this area, you’ll have to go counter clockwise until this upper door is open.

Just a word about De La Metalica. You’ll see Necronomic enemies, and if you Hi Prison – Lucky Shot one of them you’ll get the Necronomicon, Cecilia’s best book (very much worth your time to get this).

Look at the earth book to the east, and then go south to exit. Go south in this new area and look at the blue book, and then go west up the stairs and northwest up the stairs again for the Fire Book. South for the exit and a save point.

East a bit for two more staircases, a room and a tablet. Take the stairs going up and left for a door. You’ll reach some bookcases but only read the middle bookcase and the one just right of that. Then, go back to the locked door and go right down the stairs. Open the third and fourth chests from the left and go back to the door, and it’ll be open.

Look at the green Wind book on the left, and then leave through the door. Next you’ll see the Lightning book and the door. In the next area, search all the books for Jack’s Phazer Zapp fast draw. Go through the door on the east, and then another east door.

This area is tricky, you have to do it right or you could get caught in an endless loop. Read the inscriptions if you want, but just go left, right, right, left, and right, and you’ll be in a long area. At the end you get the Hades Rune, Duran Drum’s Rune. You’ll then teleport out, so use Escape and the Teardrop to return to Curan Abbey. Then, teleport to the Forest Mound and back to Vassim’s Lab.

When you just have control of Cecilia, speak with Rudy. Cecilia teleports into his dreams and see’s Elizabeth eating Rudy’s dreams. Cecilia will get in a battle with her, one on one. This is a good battle to show you the power of the Necronomicon if you got it earlier – get her High Guardian Force up and use Heavens Rune for about 9500 damage. Use Saint up until then, and Heal.

Afterwards you get the Love Rune and Rudy back in your party. Put him in front and talk to Vassim for some parting words, and you’ll get his fourth force, the Fury Shot. As you return to the forest mound you’ll be greeted by Jane and McDullen on the other side.

Adlehyde

Before you know it, you’ll be in Adlehyde watching a test run of the Metal Bird. You’ll learn that it needs some Gemini Circuits to fly high above. So, go west of Court Seim with your Protowing and you should see the Gemini Corpse.

Gemini’s Corpse

Go north and bomb through the wall – you’ll meet the Sword Guardian Equitis. Jack will learn the Cosmic Nova Fast Draw. Go down the stairs now.

Bomb through the nearby wall and put out the fires with the vase. Up ahead is a Jewel you should take out. Go further to the right until you reach another wall you can bomb through on your left. Another jewel to remove here.

Return back to where you bombed this wall, and go east all the way for a Black Pass and Crest Graph. Take the stairs just west of this, and have Hanpan get a Magic Carrot to the west. East of this is another wall to bomb, and a statue to put a Jewel in. Go up the stairs and get the Phaser for Rudy. Return to where you put the jewel in, take it back out, and go south to a new area. Use the vase to extinguish the fire and get the Lucky Card, then expend another Jewel to go down the stairs.

Continue along, getting the Mega Berry east of you with Hanpan and the Pouch in the next room. Bomb through the wall and put the jewel you have in the statue. This will lead to two more Jewels you can take out of the statues. Return back and take the third Jewel from the statue that opened this path. Then, head south along the exterior path to get to another statue you can put a Jewel in. Return to the previous section and take the south path just east of this one. Pour water to get through and go east, taking the south path for a Save Point when you can.

Continue with the east path, putting jewels in the statues to take the stairs down. Grab the treasure that lands by you, it’s a P. Glove tool for Rudy.

In the next room, use the Power Glove to knock the treasures off the pillars. They are an Ambrosia and a Duplicator. Bomb through the weak walls behind the guardians for two Secret Signs. Use the P. Glove on the purple pillar to get it to the other side, and grapple across. Rest up before trying to get the treasure in the next room.

Mech Drake is here. It will cast Silence on you, Resonance Wave (900 damage on each), and Laser Breath (400 damage on one). Have Rudy use Rocket Launcher (unless you built the Phaser up), Jack can heal or use his best Fast Draws, and Cecilia should use Arm. Down, Hi Shield, Slow Down, and any of her hi level attack spells. Rudy’s Fury Shot will blow this enemy away as will any High Guardian pretty much. You’ll get the Gemini Circ. (Gemini Circuit) and a teleport will emerge, so take it.

Escape and teleport back to Adlehyde. Rest up and save, spend about 100,000 on your Phaser, and then go to the castle. Emma will be here and she’ll get reports about Sweet Candy having the second Gemini Circuit – but they’re under attack and the ship sinks. Back at Adlehyde the meeting adjourns.

Leave and teleport to Ship Graveyard. Go to the beach and get the second Gemini Circ. – yep, it’s that easy. Teleport back to Adlehyde and go to the ARMs shop to tell Emma. Now you’ll be able to travel above mountains with the Gullwing.

Ancient Altar

West a little of the Giant’s Cradle is the Ancient Altar. Fly over the mountains, land, and walk there for the powerful Sword Rune.

Pandemonium

Fly to the southeast and you’ll see an island over there. Pandemonium Castle is here.

Go north to the stairs up. Keep going north until you get a Mind Gem (recover MP per step / turn). South a little, east, and hit the jewel to switch the doors. Keep going until you see a Mega Berry on your left and a save point to the north. Keep going and you’ll see Harken turn into Elmina, someone from Jack’s past. Alhazad and Turask show up too however.

He has a Horn Spike for 1400 one a character, Shield, Poison Breath (Poison on each character), and Cut Down for 1200 on each. Use your Phaser, if it’s maxed it’ll do a bit more damage than the Rocket Launcher. Casting Arm. Down and Slow Down is essential, and he’ll often waste turns on Shield on himself to recover from Arm. Down. As long as you have him slowed you should be able to heal from his powerful attacks. You get a ton of gella for defeating him.

However you are trapped by Alhazad after this. Now you have to control Hanpan, ugh. Talk to him, and then take him through the hole and the first exit you see. Go east, north, and east again and through the next hole. Take this all the way north and then up the east stairs. Go through the door, push the lever, and then you regain control of Jack.

Get the Magic Carrots, Secret Sign, and Lucky Card, and to the northeast. The door is locked, so you’ll need to switch.

With Cecilia, go up the stairs and hit the red switch you see. Back to Jack now, since he can continue up the stairs. Hit the switch on the right and go south to a blue locked door. You’ll have to switch with Cecilia, hit the switch, and leave her cell and wait in front of the red door on the left. Switch to Jack once again to continue to the red switch on the east wall. Hit it, switch to Cecilia, and move her past where the red door once was. Continue a long ways with her until you reach a switch and then a door to a new area with a staircase up. Get on the blue switch, and switch to Rudy.

Use the save point east of you, get the Bullet Clip, and continue along until you reach a blue door with Jack just west of you. Switch to Jack to hit the switc, and then have Rudy continue along. After a few areas you’ll get to a point where you are going west and the first north path leads to the Demon Prophet. He challenges you to a fight but back down and return to your cell. Actually, just wait at the blue door nearby. Jack needs to hit the switch again and then continue to the blue floor switch. Rudy can now do the same as well. The party joins once again.

Go down Jack’s west path and bomb through the wall for two Crest Graphs and an Ambrosia. Now return to where you met up, and take the south path (Rudy’s way here). You are looking for that middle area that leads to the Demon Prophet. This time, tell him you’re leaving.

Demon Prophet is a tricky customer. He has a “will be stuck in ice / rocks” attack that takes off around 1200-1500 on one character. That’s all he did, was that. Because of how fast he is though you’ll want to cast Slow Down or use Heal Blade with Jack when necessary. Just use your Phazer / Rocket Launcher, Jack’s best Fast Draw’s, and Saint and Hi Guardian attacks with Cecilia. Demon Prophet will fall backwards in slow motion afterwards.

Upstairs, have Hanpan hit one blue switch so you can continue. Now you can save and go north again (or rest up if you want to do that). The north path is long and arduous.

Shazam will stop you eventually. He has Keen Silf (1000-1200 on each) as his really only dangerous attack. His others will be mediocre on one member. Just cast Slow Down so that he can’t compete with you in terms of agility, and then just unload whatever you have left as far as ARMs and MP goes. Saint and holy based attacks are probably your best bet, and by the time your Force’s are full you should be able to kill him with Fury Shot / Hi Guardian / Sonic Vision. Another enemy who gives up tons of gella.

North more to see the Dark Teardrop. It is going to be used like the Elw’s use their pyramids. You’ll end up in Adlehyde with a woozy Jack.

Arctica Castle

Rest up and save. Fly to the northeast to Arctica Castle, northwest of the Photosphere. Grab the Full Revives and go up the stairs. Take the south path for a Nectar and two Mega Berry’s. Go north (the west duplicator door has two Secret Signs) and you’ll be outside. Southeast for the Wild Bunch ARM for Rudy. If you take the northeast path you’ll reach another Duplicator Door that has two Secret Signs.

Go outside and take the middle path, and go right for a Lucky Card. Left a little and have Jack look at the throne. He’ll get the Black Feral and the Void fast draw. Take the northwest path, and go through the stairs until you get to a Save Point.

Keep going along the path until you reach Lady Harken. This battle shouldn’t be a problem for you even though only Jack is involved. Heal Blade is always there for you, just remember that Harken is faster than Jack generally. Use your best ability’s and Sonic Vision will make quick work of her. Steal a Secret Sign (you may win one also) and after about 20000 HP, you have a victory.

Harken dies but the Lion Idol shatters, revealing the Courage Rune. Take the Boom Getter in the left room and then take the stairs up in the right room. You’ll be outside and a scene about Ka Dingel. Take notice of it’s location. It’s where you need to go to.

First though, rest up. I suggest Baskar Village, because then you can go to the altar to get the Hope Rune while you’re here. The Dragon Idol will shatter and Zephyr the guardian of Hope emerges.

Head to Adlehyde to rest up, and build up your Wild Bunch ARM (although there is a better one). Save and take your Gullwing just south of Rosetta Village to see Ka Dingel. Land, call your Earth Golem, and go in.

Ka Dingel

Boomerang and Luceid

are here waiting for you. Not that they are easy this time, but their moves definitely don’t have the same luster as they did the first two times. Their attacks are the same except for a Zero Armor Attack (1000 damage to one) for Boomerang. Double Boomerang Dynamic is the one that takes off nearly 2000. Of course just use your highest ATP ARM (Phaser likely) and best Fast Draw on Luceid until she’s gone. Slow Down on Boomerang would be a good idea. Just keep everyone healed and unless Fury Shot / Sonic Vision / Hi Guardian when the time comes and you should be able to put these two away then.

Boomerang and Luceid cover for you as you go to Zeikfried up Ka Dingel. Return to get the Saber Fang though.

Back inside, take the left or right path to get two Mega Berry’s, then go back up the stairs. Go to the southwest and through the lit-up passage, and left to bomb through the wall. Hit the switch up ahead and go south all the way. Now, go east to another door that leads to a Nectar and Lucky Card.

In the north room you can get up top to the right. Take the northeast exit and keep going until you reach another switch on the ground. Go south all the way now until you can go west and then northwest for an exit. Keep going here until you get to a split, and then go east and south to get a Magic Carrot. In this area, go southwest for a Full Revive, and then southeast for a Full Revive and Magic Carrot again. Take the northeast path, then go north and down the stairs for a Mega Berry and Magic Carrot. Continue south and in this room, push the statue south a little and then to the west onto the blue glyph to open the door in the Full Revive / Magic Carrot room. You can take the middle path with the stairs leading up.

Grab the Magic Carrots and go south. Take the right path and up the stairs. Get the Full Revive and Mega Berry, and then go to the left path and go up the stairs for another Full Revive and Mega Berry. Push the statue into the pit, go down the stairs in the previous room, and enter the room on the bottom to push the statue in the northwest corner.

Continue into the next area and up the stairs. Take the north path going east, and then go south and west and hit the first two switches you see (the middle and right one). Jump off the ledge to the southeast, and then walk west and north. You’ll see two levers, so hit the east one and the door will open and you can go up the stairs.

Grab the Ambrosia in the southeast room, and then go up the stairs for a Nectar and a southwest exit. Keep following the path as it goes east and north for stairs up. The path in the middle of this room (just southwest of you) leads to a Metal Shield. Take the left stairs going up now.

Grab the Ambrosia and bomb the purple orb to continue to the northeast, and take the stairs going up. Just head east and up the stairs again. More orbs to bomb, but the second orb you’ll need to lay a bomb and then quick walk south past the purple barriers so they don’t block you (or else you’ll need to use the Clock). Another dark area where you’ll need to go west to see the stairs up. Take the second stairs to the east and you’ll see 8 levers. As you see when you push one lever, the levers next to it move also. You need them all facing the right way. So to begin, hit the mid-right, lower-right, up-right, up-middle, down-middle, upper-left, lower-left, and middle-left. All the levers will be facing to the right now and you can continue and save.

Rest up because the real Alhazad is ahead. Alhazad Symphony is the real issue here, doing about 1200-1400 damage on each member. His Super Transmitted Mega Crash attack does about 1700-1900 on one character too. If he casts Slow Down on you, cast it back on him (or Quick on yourself). As for most bosses around this time, just rely on Rudy’s strongest ARMs and then unload Fury Shot / Sonic Vision / Hi Guardian (Hope Rune) to blow Alhazad away. Jack is purified after the battle and learns the Double Attack Force. Take the dimensional elevator to Malduke!

Side Quests

Most of these Side Quests can be done even before Ka Dingel. However I suggest you even go further into Malduke before doing most of them (don’t worry, you can return to Filgaia from Malduke). For the sake of keeping Malduke not split up and in one area, the side quests will go here despite the above.

Hayokontons

Your pursuit of Sidequests should begin with the Hayokonton random fights on the east islands of the Ancient Arena. There are three small islands and occassionally you’ll come across a pair of Hayokonton’s that yield an absurd amount of EXP / Gella (80000 / 60000 if Lucky Card is used!) However, these enemies are not easy kills by any means. They have 50,000 – 60,000 HP, take off a decent amount of damage, and use Human Experimentation to mess up your status. Confusion is what you need to protect against the most (they like Direct Voice) so it may be wise to have Jack equip an anti-confusion relic so that he can cast Heal Blade on people when necessary. To deal with the high HP, use Fury Shot / Arch Smash, Trump Card with a Hyper-ed Jack, and Hi Guardian with Cecilia. The proceeds should first be used to max out the Arch Smash to turn Rudy into a bonafide monster, and all of your Secret Signs should be dumped on the Trump Card.

There is also the matter of stealing Duplicators / winning them from the Hayokonton’s. This is difficult because it is hard to use Hi Prison on them, so the Hi Prison – Lucky Shot trick doesn’t work so well.

Adlehyde

Talk to the guy in the pub for a Dispellado (after you’ve pumped all the money possible into Adlehyde).

Go northwest of Baskar Village to the stone formation. Use the Dispellado on the Northwest, Southwest, Southeast, Northeast, West, South, East, and North to get the Illusion Temple to appear. Enter the Illusion Temple and you’ll get the Chrono Rune after meeting Dan Dairam. Elmina i also revived.

Black Market

In Adlehyde, go to the weapon / item store. You should have the Black Pass(from Gemini’s Corpse) and if you use this on the bookcase here, you’ll reveal the Black Market. The weapons here are probably obsolete, but the armor is likely useful unless you have each character’s final armor. Oh yea and there are Goat Doll which you’ll be buying plenty of if you wish to do these sidequests. You will need to constantly switch them in as these tough monsters kill you.

Saint Centour – Zed

When speaking of tough monsters, we should start with none other than Zed – Monster Z. Have plenty of Goat Dolls and be as high in levels as possible before attempting this.

You’ll want to get Slow Down off as soon as you can, otherwise Zed will be going before you. His Doom Bringer takes off around 1500 on each character, but it’s his multi-person 3000+ damaging attack that is the problem. If you are underleveled it will kill you and you will need Goat Dolls to live. Arch Smash should be maxed and you should be using just that with Rudy. Jack should be using Trump Card and hopefully Cecilia can get a Hyper off on Jack. She should immediately cast Slow Down and then heal. Zed drops the Doom Bringer sword. It’s a powerful sword but it makes your Luck go to Worst. Also, let him leave – he means well.

Barbados

In the southeast corner of the map is a really long patch of desert. You want to land by the signpost and use the Ocarina to summon the Earth Golem. Now walk southwest of the signpost and just walk around this area for a while and Barbados will appear.

He likes using Acid Missile (500 on each), Linear Rail Cannon (1500-1700 on each), and Land Master (1500 on one). He really has no instant kill attacks so Goat Dolls are absolutely essential. As usual, the trick is getting Slow Down to work on him so that you can heal when needed. Arch Smash and Trump Card should do just fine, and Hi Vortex is best (Barbados is weak versus wind). By the time you get Fury Shot / Sonic Vision / Hi Guardian up, he should almost be dead. Dist Dims (weapon for Cecilia) is your reward.

Leviathan

If you’ve repaired Adlehyde (at least a few 10,000 gella) you’ll be able to talk to Drake in the very northeast building. He’s got a ship for you outside.

Teleport to the Ship Graveyard. Go southwest on your ship to the dark blue formation and travel around here. It may take a short while or a really long time, but in the southeast part of this you’ll get a “something is rising from the depths!” message and Leviathan pops up. The trick seems to involve you going up and down perfectly in that southeast corner for the message to pop up.

Leviathan uses Reactor Torpedo (1800-2000 one), Deep Sea Cyclone (2000 damage on each), Aurora Destruction (1500 each), and Trident (1000 on one).

You’ll definitely want to cast Slow Down so that you can control the fight. Basically use the same strategy as Barbados but use lightning elemental instead of Wind / Vortex. The Pret-A-Porte is your reward. The Pret-a-port is Cecilia’s best armor.

Boomerang and the Ancient Arena

Enter the arena and for 1000 gella you can fight battles. Medea is the first one. He’s a joke with 10000 HP only.

Badnews is the second enemy and it begins to get difficult now. Cast Slow Down and Armor Down but beware the attacks of this physical beast. His regular attacks take off around 1800-2000 and his Brutal attack does about 3000.

Javawalk is the third enemy. He doesn’t seem as difficult although his Antimatter Bomb at least hits everyone (for only 1000 though).

Riversider is a treat. Have some Goat Dolls for this one. He is fast as hell too (Slow Down, of course). His Brutal Attack is basically an instant kill but his regular attack along takes off 2000. He also has the most HP – needless to say, that Duplicator you win will be well earned.

Boomerang Flash

If you have the Saber Fang from Boomerang at Malduke and have beat the Arena once, you can fight Flash Boomerang. Be sure to have plenty of Goat Dolls and full ARMs for this one.

Have the Goat Dolls ready after Rang Flash is done talking. Zero Count Execution kills one character or does 2500-3000 damage. Evil Sword Luceid only does about 800-1000 to one character. Shadow Boomerang Maximum does about 3000-3500 to each character.

Slow Down will be essential here as it usually is. Then, use Life Guard or Goat Dolls. Hyper on Jack so he does maximum damage with Trump Card, and then keep pummeling him until you can do High Guardian / Fury Shot / Sonic Vision, and that sort of thing. Rudy’s Divine Blade is the victory spoils for defeating Boomerang.

Angol Moa

Go to the top of the Ancient Arena by the Duke. See the blue mirror? Use the P Glove to punch through, and then use 5 Duplicator’s to get north. Keep going north despite the warnings and rest up before you sit out the tremor.

Angol Moa is huge. His 7th Moon attack takes off around 3000 to each. His physical attacks take off half that (and to one character) and he also wastes turns Guarding. When you get a chance, use Slow Down and then Hyper on Jack. Cecilia should then be using Remedy most of the time while the other two use Arch Smash – Trump Card. Angol Moa has such a ridiculously high defense that Trump Card + Hyper won’t even do that much. 7th Moon though likely makes this a Goat Doll battle, at least for a few characters, but if you can pull it out you get the Juggernaut for Jack.

Abyss

The Abyss is the scariest place in the game. Getting here is random, and the enemies are the toughest in the game (regular enemies and the boss here). To get here, go to Baskar Village and save. Have like 50 Goat Dolls if you want to live. Go northeast to the Elw Pyramid and right in the teleporter until the screen turns red.

You’re in the Abyss. Continue south and go until you reach 5 levers. Hit the second one from the right, and then the far left two. Go south now all the way until you reach three gold statues. Push the outer two forward and the middle one to the side.

Follow this path and keep going north to a Duplicator Door. Follow this path a ways until you get the three best helmets in the game – Dead Heat, Ruby Tiara, and Texas Number.

Go back to the Duplicator door and go straight south through the wall. As soon as you get to the next room, take the right path (upper balcony) and follow it to the far west. Go down the stairs for an Amulet and go north into the next room. Do not light the nearby lanter, just go north to the maze.

Go left first for an Orb of Life. Northwest of this is a Mystic Slate, and then go northeast and east a few until you can go north for a Power Boost. Just east of this for another thing to grapple onto and one last Duplicator door.

Keep going to the north to find a big square. If you want to fight the most insane battle on this game, play the Guitar of Maya with Jack. Ragu Ragla will appear, or Raguragula. You will want a Goat Doll on everyone considering the potential of Ragu Ragula’s attacks. Definitely use Slow Down so you can at least go first.

Zero Armor Attack does about 3000 damage to one character. He did this attack the first four turns against me, so I didn’t lose anyone. After that he pulled out Volcanic Bomb to wipe everyone at 7000 each. He didn’t really do anything other than those two, but it’ll get to the point where you can’t keep up with the healing to survive the Zero Armor Attack (since Cecilia needs Goat Dolls not the Necronomicon). If you can Hyper Jack, his Meteor Strikes should do about 5000 damage (Trump Card will only be useful if he’s full HP or close to it).

Rudy should strictly use Arch Smash and Bullet Clips on it if he runs out. Cecilia needs to get Slow down to work at least once to get the jump on Ragu. If you can survive long enough (his HP isn’t that high, although it’s higher than any other boss likely) you’ll be the victor, and the main thing you’ll be happy about is the Sheriff Star, which makes all of your stats jump on whoever equips it.

New Moon, Malduke

Take the southeast path to stairs going down that are blocked by an alarm. Bomb it, go through the stairs, and go right through the tunnel. You’ll come to a Bullet Clip and the best ARM, Arch Smash.

Return to the beginning and bomb the alarm on the west side this time. Go through, get the Nectar, use the P. Glove on the purple thing, Grapple across and go through. Bomb the alarm and flip the switch in the next room.

At the very beginning, take the middle path going south so that you can save your game. Back north, take the staircase down (to the right) and take the left path through the northwest door. Keep going left into a room, and then go to the lever in here to push it. The door below opens so take it. Grab the Guitar of Maya, the last tool for Jack (and everyone for that matter). It will summon monsters (either random ones instantly or bosses in secret places).

Back to the fourway intersection just before this, and go south. Take this all the way until you see some damage spots on the ground and a big tube to the left. The damage spots don’t do much damage, so just take the big tube all the way to the east, get out, and hit the lever. Jump down and enter the newly opened door. More X’s to go through and then a doorway which leads to pipes.

Take the east fork first, and then keep going northeast until you see a Nectar. Take the down path all the way for another statue. Have Jack search it and prepare for a tough battle. Two Fesel Zeins are here and if Jack wins he gets his ultimate attack, the Trump Card Fast Draw. Their Huge Blow’s can take off around 1000-1200 so make sure Heal Blade / Potion Berry’s are ready. Go back in the tubes now.

Go to the beginning of the pipe maze, and take a left and work your way to the northwest. A Silver Blade is here, a good weapon for Rudy. A Nectar is just east of this, and a Princess Rod to the southeast. Another treasure to the south; a Violator for Jack. Head just east of this to that opening in the middle that leads to an exit north.

More X’s to go through, and then falling bridges. At the end, you’ll want to be in the mid-right spot so you can Grapple across and go down the stairs. Take a right and save. Flip the blue switch and go north to teleport.

South to the first big room. Go to the northeast in this area and keep going north. You’ll eventually reach a tablet that speaks of Lucifer and Sado. This is a completely optional boss I’ll remind you (one that you’re likely not prepared for unless you’ve done lots of sidequests outside of here). But go south from this tablet and east, then north all the way to a fire to put out. Rest up, and play the Guitar in the center here.

Lucifer

appears. He likes Beam Fencer (3000-4000 damage per member). His regular attacks only take off 700 or so. Sephiroto does about 2000 damage to each character. As long as Beam Fencer doesn’t come out too often, you can probably survive this fight without the aid of Goat Dolls. Slow Down will help although you may go first anyway. As always, Hyper Jack when Cecilia doesn’t need to Heal, and then use your high Force ability’s. Your reward is the Jade Wilder for Jack, his best armor by far.

Go a few rooms back and take the southeast exit and jump down the ledge. Touch the blue switch to make it red, then jump down another ledge, and there will be an exit on the west end here.

Head to the southeast of this place to bomb a rock and climb the ladder. Go to the northeast, and then you can enter the center structure for Assault Coat, Jolla Poncho, and Filgaia Robe. Too bad only Rudy’s is worth keeping (and only for a bit). Go through that southeast path again, dropping down and flipping the statue back to the blue color. Now as you drop down and get back to the underground area, you can go west to a rock blocking another ladder. Blow it up and then run to the southeast corner. Go down the ladder and then straight north to step on a switch. Return to the northeast path and go through this one more time, jumping down the ledge to switch it back to the red color, and then hit the switch on the left side now. You can go through the center to the Arms treasure. Go south all the way and then northwest in the big room to exit back to Malduke.

Go to the Mine Area now, so flip both switches after you save. Another optional Golem boss is coming. Go south and take the east path down the stairs. Then, take the west stairs. Bomb the rock to the left and go down the stairs in the south.

Sado is down here. Put out the fire, rest up, and play the Guitar of Maya. This is a pretty weak golem so you can likely find time to steal a Bullet Clip from him.

Black Hole Bullet takes off around 1200-1500. Armageddon does about 1500-1700 on everyone and Megid Flame does about 1500 to one. None of these attacks scream Goat Doll so you can take this one out earlier if you can slow it down. Hyper and Trump Card can make short work of the 50,000 HP. Your reward is the Braver Vest for Rudy.

Go back north and take the northeast stairs. East of here for some stairs down and then take the southeast stairs. Go straight south, taking the path that is slightly to the west. This small room holds the Eye. To ensure it is the true eye, go to where the stairs were for Sado and go in front of that eye you revealed. If it shines blue then it’s the real one.

Residential Area

Flip the green switch on the left. Continue until you make it to the stairs going up.

As you enter the town, go north and use the Radar by the tombstones. You’ll find the Wings here. Nothing else to do – if you didn’t know where to look this would be difficult for you to get.

Return to the traffic area, save, and go to the previous room. Go left all the way to a staircase. Grab the Nectar’s on the side here and go north. Set the Eye in the center, the Arm on the right and the Wings on the left. Enter through the door, get the Magic Carrots, and go down the stairs.

Follow the path as it goes north, east, south, west and north again to a new room. There are alarms here that send Berial at you. Genocide Beam only does about 1000 to each character, and that’s it’s best attack. This is by far the easiest golem, which is also why you don’t get anything for beating it. Far to the north in this room is an Ambrosia, and south for some stairs down. The far right room in the next place is an elevator down to Ka Dingel, but take the middle path to reach Ziek.

Ziekfried is pretty similar to the first time you fought him, maybe a little more difficult. You’re probably decidedly better than he is here, and it might not even be close if you finished all the side quests. Zeik’s best attacks take off 1000 on each, so cast Remedy and just keep up. The key is not to waste all of Jack’s MP on Trump Card or all of your bullets on Arch Smash (though you should be prepared to refill both whenever, since this is the end).

Ziekfried turns into Motherfried. Her Inferno can do around 1200 to each. Dark Ray does even more, at around 1500-1700. Sayfert’s Galaxy is between these two at about 1400-1500 each. You should be able to survive without Goat Dolls here. Use your best attacks, and if Jack is Hyper-ed his Trump Card should be doing 9999 if he’s well rested.

It looks like all it stll lost for Filgaia. The Teardrop and Guardians fight Filgaia’s decay and darkness. When you regain control, go south and east when you can. The elevator is here so take it.

Zeik Tuvai is here to stop you though. This is the ultimate form of Zeikfried. He’ll use Confuse, Sleep and Silence often. Proton Beam can destroy a single character but you should be able to survive 2400-2600 damage at this point. He is not especially powerful but he can heal himself for huge amounts, so hopefully you can do a lot of damage (and with Arch Smash and a Hyper-ed Jack using Trump Card, you can). Heal if you get low and cast Awaken to reduce the chance of falling asleep. This is the last version of Ziekfried – you finally win after this is over.

Inner Sea

Now that you have Sweet Candy you can travel the Inner Sea. Go north and a little west from where you are to see Volcanon Trap (inaccessible now) and a bottle floating by Adlehyde. This is a Duplicator. You can use this in Adlehyde Castle if you want for four Crest Graphs and a Secret Sign.

In Adlehyde you can learn more about what is going on. There are three places of interest, with the Volcanon Trap being one and the Tripillar and Giant’s Cradle being the others. Talk to the swordsman in the southwest and agree to give him a Secret Sign for a new Fast Draw technique (Soul Breaker).

Leave Adlehyde and travel northeast for a Lucky Card. Now travel to the far southeast, towards Port Timney. Since the sea monsters are hard generally, you’ll want to rest and save here. Head due east to find the Tripillar, but go northeast of it first for a Crest Graph.

Tripillar

This is the only place out of the aforementioned three that is open to you currently. You must split into three and it is essential that you pick the correct teleports.

For Jack, have him go to the west portal. Get the Potion Berry and go up the northwest stairs. The next area is the reason why Jack is here. There is a statue on the east side. Go up to it and accept the challenge of fighting four Critter’s. Then two critters, then one critter. Finally, the statue rewards you with the Fast Draw Divide Shot.

Continue up the stairs until you get to an area where you see a treasure on the east side. Go all the way south through the door and entire the nearby door to grapple over and get the Secret Sign. Up the stairs yet again for a Potion Berry and switch.

The top floors have tough enemies, like Raidbuster’s. They will attack in numbers and kill you, and will not allow you to run most of the time. Hurry and get the switch in this area and go up the stairs. There is one more floor to go with the Hanpan switch hitting, so go up there and examine the gargoyle to make it glow.

Switch to Rudy and take the right path. Grab the Potion Berry on the first floor and hit the stairs, and then just take the stairs again on the next floor. The third floor, go all the way to the southwest and go up for the stairs.

Keep going along, grabbing the Bullet Clip on this floor. The next floor has a Potion Berry and a switch, and tough monsters (Raidbusters). Get the switch on the next floor and you should be at the gargoyle that lights up.

Cecilia is difficult to get through with her low HP. Anyway, take the north portal and grab the Potion Berry. Continue up a few floors until you get to the east side that has a Magic Carrot. One more floor and Cecilia has a save point. The next floor up has a Potion Berry and a switch to hit before going up another level. One more floor to go and you’re at the top. If this is your third and last one, you’ll all be teleported to the beginning.

Search the yellow box to elicit the attention of the Mage Fox. As you can tell this guy is all about using magic, until the end when he seems to run out and just use physical attacks. He likes to use a spiritual attack called Valkyrie that can take up to 600 off on a character. A lesser spell he uses is Blast but this also attacks the entire party. Towards the end, he’ll heal himself and then just start attacking. Your party members are probably worth out but just keep using the best moves the two men have and Cecilia should heal and use Ione Paua when her summon is built up. Grab the Blue Virtue after the battle and leave.

You should probably return to Port Timney to rest and save.

Rosetta Town

This place can be tricky to find. From Port Timney, travel west along the south end and you’ll eventually see a whirlpool with a dude watching it. You want to get on the land he is at, so get off just north of here and walk southwest to Rosetta.

There are some great weapons and armor just to the northwest. Outside of the weapon store is 498 gella. Northeast of here for the bar and a My Grand Hat. The pub exterior has a candid dog who is looking at a 1 Gella Coin pot. West of here for a Crest Graph.

The mayor to the north has a Hardy Apple and Power Apple, and a Magic Carrot upstairs. Southeast is a Headgear and the Elw in her home. Look at her flowers outside and she’ll talk to you again. Rudy and friends stick up for her when some townspeople come by. She talks some more and you learn her name is Mariel. She wants to find the Arnica just south of town.

Forest Mound

Go up to the shiny herb and the kids from before come up. Rudy slaps one in the face and then they leave. Take the Herb Arnica back to Rosetta. Give it to the mayor and that will be it for this sidequest. Mariel will give you a Small Flower if you visit her.

Before you leave Rosetta you’ll see Calamity Jane and McDullen. She wants to get in the Volcanon Trap in the west part of the Inner Sea. Rest, save, and head for Adlehyde. Just south of here is the Volcanon Trap.

Volcannon Trap

As you enter, the “special key” is a huge bomb from McDullen. Head north several screens until you get to a staircase going down.

Go east for a Potion Berry, and south for 971 gella. Southwest of here for a Bullet Clip and Secret Sign. Further west for 1800 gella and then begin going south more. You’ll see another lava-hidden chest that has a Silver Harp inside, and east of this for a Magic Carrot. Now go south for the exit (grapple over) and down the stairs.

Head to the east and finally Rudy has a powerful new ARM. The Rocket Launcher awaits you. South a bit and west of here for a Lucky Card. West a bit more and you are at a gigantic lava pit. In the southeast of it is a Crest Graph, the southwest has a Potion Berry, and then start going north for a Revive Fruit and the exit. Two exits actually, so take the right one and follow it through. Jane and McDullen will leave you here.

Go down 4 or 5 staircases and examine the north wall. Zed pops through. You can use the Rocket Launcher but your Hand Cannon is probably better and more accurate right now. Meteor Strike is still probably the best ability Jack has. Cecilia should cast Arm Down and then Heal, using her summons when they’re up. Zed has some new attacks like Ougi-Kyoujin-Ranbu, and then the older ones Garyu-Ichimongiri. Just stay healed above 500 and you should be able to best him fast.

Rest up and waste some Magic Carrots (trust me) to restore MP. Save and go north. Turns out there is no Guardian Blade but it’s just been a ploy so that Belselk can slaughter you. Unfortunately for Belselk, in the treasure room is where his augmentation device is, and Jane is destroyed it. He is still a Night Crawler, so beware. Do the usual on turn one, getting his Armor Down. His Disrupting Flail still only does 300 or so, which is nothing at this point. His Belselk Breaker will take off a 1000 though, and can wipe out Cecilia easily. Putting a Shield up on her (or someone else) might be a good idea. His Blaster Howling can paralyze you as well. Overall though, the only way this is a hard battle is if he uses Belselk Breaker often, but he should be using Disrupting Flail most of the time so put him away and grab the Red Malice to the north.

As you leave, Belselk is assassinated by a mysterious character. Leave Volcannon Trap.

Later, you’ll see Boomerang and Luceid called in to see Mother. Zeik doesn’t like this and is scared. You’ll see a barrier around the Photosphere as well.

You’ll be back in Rosetta Town temporarily, so rest up and save. I also suggested pouring about 40,000 into the Rocket Launcher so that it has 9-10 bullets, 85+ % and 140+ ATP. Then you’ll begin to see the power Rudy has.

Giant’s Cradle

To get here, travel north and you’ll see a beach with just a cave. This is the Giant’s Cradle. Put the Red Malice and Blue Virtue in here and you’ll be allowed in.

Take the left path and grab the two Crest Graphs and save. Then take the right path and use the southeast grapple to get across. Sprint through this next area or you’ll get hit by the spikes and spears. The next area leads to a block, a purple thing on the ground and a locked door. Push the block south, then east, then north, and east to the purple glyph. Take the stairs down and push the block onto the glyph again to continue. Watch out for the spears up ahead, grab the Potion Berry and dodge some more spears. Grab the crate and throw it at the switch and take the stairs down. Another area where you’ll have to pick the crate up and hurry past the spikes, and manage to throw it at the switch. Two Magic Carrots in the next area, and pick up a crate in the following area to hit the switch. Grab the Potion Berry and soon you’ll find a huge golem. The party decides to go visit Emma in Adlehyde.

Sure enough she wants to go see it. Just travel there and you’ll appear where the golem was. It is called the Earth Golem evidently and it’s not used for fighting. Cecilia wakes it, and you can use it on the world map.

Court Seim

Now that you have the Earth Golem on your side, you can travel across the shallow water. Go east and south when you can to buy status-resistant stuff. Travel a bit east to see the Photosphere and then go southeast and southwest eventually to find Court Seim.

Head to the northwest for a Crest Graph and Agile Apple. A Mystic Apple is to the east by the Ring shop. To the very northeast for a Power Apple. The big north house has a Hardy Apple and Nicholi Maxwell. Some scenes with Rudy’s past, and then you get the Wind-up Key for a tower to the southeast.

Epitaph Sea

This is an incomplete tower that Nicholi suggested you visit. The left path leads to nothing so go right and use the Wind-up Key to continue all the way to the stairs up.

Take the two sets of stairs to the Potion Berry, and then go south to blow the wall up and go upstairs. Hit the switch and get the Magic Carrot after riding the elevator, and then ride the far east elevator to get back to the beginning. Walk south via the east wall route and you’ll get a Lucky Card and the stairs up.

The door will shut behind you. Luceid the Black Wolf has locked you in here, so talk to it with the Wand, follow it, and talk to it again to continue up.

Save and head to the southwest for Mystic Apple and Agile Apple. Go to the east and shoot Hanpan through the southeast hole to hit the switch. Grab the Metal Bird and hit the switch to go to the northwest room. Input Metal Bird as the password and you can continue through the northeast room.

If you want to use a Duplicator to get a Crest Graph, Secret Sign and Bullet Clip, you can. Up ahead though are the Skates for Rudy. Now you can take the center south path for a Full Revive and the ladder.

Grab the Reflex when you’re outside, and use the Wind-up Key on the three robots in the east part of the following room. Jack will learn Blast Charge, a nice new Fast Draw.

Rest up because at the top is an unfun experience. Boomerang and Luceid are here and this is by far the toughest boss fight yet. Both are fast so use Slow down on Boomerang and then just plan on healing with Cecilia on most turns because the two enemies can cause up to 1300 damage at once. Boomerang Dynamic takes off around 700 while Crescent Fang only does a few hundred. Luceid spams Black Fang with a high agility. You’ll want to kill this thing fast, so after 3 or 4 turns you should have it dead (if your Rocket Launcher is built up enough). Jack can be using Blast Charge now if he has the MP to spare and Sonic Vision definitely. Sometimes Jack will need to use Heal Blade to help Cecilia. Be conservative because Black Fang plus Boomerang Dynamic spells death if used on the same character.

If you’re fortunate enough to win, get the Rune Drive and escape out of here.

Court Seim

Back in town go to Nicholi and he’ll be glad you have the missing Rune Drive. A banquet occurs after this, so talk to Nicholi, Jane (with Rudy), and then McDullen to rest.

At night, Rudy and Jane chat. Unfortunately Alhazad comes in to say everyone will die if you don’t give back the Rune Drive. The party stays in town but no one attacks. The enemy must have went to the Sacred Shrine to the southeast.

Sacred Shrine

A kid is here to tell you about the monsters being in here. Take the stairs in the north and then the west exit. Use a Duplicator on the door here, it’s worth it this time because you get another Duplicator. Also, a Magic Carrot, Potion Berry, Crest Graph, Revive Fruit and Secret Sign. Take the right path now and go south when you can for a Potion Berry and Secret Book. The Secret Book is just great for Cecilia. Then take the stairs going down.

Continue along for another Duplicator door (a 3 Ceracenian battle for Jack for a Fast Draw (Slash Rave) and 320 Gella) and then go northeast for stairs up. There is 4800 gella and 2130 gella in the room with all the people. Save here and go back to the duplicator door and take the door east of it. There is a Potion Berry and a dog here. This is no dog though.

Agaless is a smart enemy, most of the time. He’ll likely begin with Arm Down, so start using Shield on Cecilia to cancel it out. He happened to continue to use Arm Down and waste turns, but when he did attack the other two he took off about 1300 damage. You’ll have to expend a Potion Berry immediately when he hits you. Fortunately the Rocket Launcher and Sonic Vision should be able to put this enemy away in 7 or 8 turns.

Go back and save, and it may seem like you’re at a stand still. Go to the west part of the Sacred Shrine with the priest that you can’t reach. Shoot Hanpan at the little boy to move him and get to the priest. After talking with him, Hanpan has a revelation. Just like at Saint Centour, the enemy must have snuck in with a human. Continue his questions with Saint Centour, Huddling against your body, Got through with a human, Got in with a Human, and Villager became a monster. After this Alhazad tells you about seeds the Metal Demons plant in humans. Now that Alhazad knows you’re smart to what’s going on, the party knows they have to act fast before he gets the Rune Drive back. Head back to the little boy in the north guarding Maxwell in the treasure room. This isn’t a little boy but a demon.

Defeat the three Ceracenians, rest up and go up. Alhazad is here to curse you out, but you just took out his tough pet. This may mean you’re low on MP or Rocket Launcher bullets, but Alhazad has low HP so try to not waste anything. He only seems intimidating because he’s one of the smarter devils. Use the rest of your Rocket Launcher and Meteor Strike or Blast Charge with Jack. Cecilia should cast Slow Down and Arm Down, if she can get them to work. Alhazad is weak against Holy so Light Blow and Ione Paua will destroy him. Other than that just heal – Esperanza and Alhazad’s regular attacks take off about 500, and he’s definitely easier than the last two boss fights. Grab the Rune Drive and you and Nicholi will go to work.

Actually you’ll be back in town, so spend some more money on the Rocket Launcher and some Aqua Rings (you’ll see why later). Talk to Maxwell again so that the Golem is powered up.

Photosphere

Save and take the Earth Golem north to the Photosphere. Cecilia will get it to destroy the barrier.

Inside the first area of the Photosphere, you can go west or east to blow up the flashing red / blue machines with a bomb. This gets rid of the alarm on the first floor.

Take the left path for a Potion Berry chest. Go on the north part of the area to drop down and bomb the machines to get rid of the alarms. Before taking the center exit though, take the northeast and then go north for two Potion Berry’s and a Full Revive. Keep following this path to the right and north to get to another machine to bomb. Now return to the previous area and take the center path that you cleared of alarms.

Grab the Hardy Apple to the west, and then go north to another area. East for another Hardy Apple, and then go to the southeast part of the screen for an Agile Apple. The northeast path is littered with alarms so take the center one. A Blue Robed Figure approaches you and tells you of the Teardrop. He’ll also open the door for you to go north in the center.

Two Potion Berry’s right by you and then the stairs. Go to the very east part of this next room for the Twin Orbs, a poor gun if you ask me. The shadowy figure will appear again and tell of common goals between the two of you. Take this north-center path that the figure opens up. Go up the stairs for a long while, use the Skates so you can skate up them and not fight enemies. Grab the Magic Carrot and take the stairs up.

Scary music plays. Grab the Teardrop, you finally get it back. Go all the way back south to the first door that the figure opened for you, and then go right and north to the stairs down.

In this area you’ll see lights moving around. You need to dodge them. At the first fourway, go east for a Revive Fruit. Another Revive Fruit southeast of this. Yet one more Revive Fruit in the northwest. In the very south is a Gauntlet and Mega Berry.

To continue you’ll want to go to the northeast. The dangerous golem Lolithia is here to spam Cold Sleepand Absolute Zero on you. Equip the Aqua Ring’s if you want some defense from those two. Also, cast Awaken constantly so that you awake from Cold Sleep, if you fall asleep. Rocket Launcher is your best friend, Meteor Strike helps too but Jack should be doing a lot of Healing also. Stay above 500 and you should be able to work down the 15000 HP Lolithia has.

Take the north stairs now. Keep following the path and you’ll get to a strange and cold door. Rest up, this is probably a boss. Sure enough, you are at Mother’s Lair. She is the queen of the demon race, and although not completed revived, she is still a boss. Her attacks don’t take off too much, but Als Magna can change your status. Use the appropriate item or Heal Blade to cure. As long as you aren’t too fatigued from Lolithia, you should be able to get off enough Meteor Strikes and Rocket Launcher’s to put her away. She’s weak against Holy so Ione Paua is another good option.

Mother is destroyed and the party escapes with Sweet Candy. While on board, the shadowy figure shows itself as Zeikfried, and the rest of the demons appear too. The battle isn’t over despite Mother’s death.

Adlehyde

Back in Adlehyde the party, Emma, Bartholomew, Jane and McDullen will be going over plans. The other demons are on the prowl and you need to reach the Outer Sea.

Talk some more around the area to find out that the whirlpool in the south (east of Rosetta) needs to be taken care of so you can make it to the Outer Sea. In Rosetta the mayor asks you to look into it, so take the ship there and Lucadia connects with Cecilia.

Dragon Shrine

Lucadia takes the party from Sweet Candy to the Dragon Shrine. To begin, take the left path for stairs, and then go northeast for more stairs. Go left for some stairs, a Magic Carrot and a Lucky Card. Return to the previous section and take the south path with the stairs going down.

This is a block maze. The key is to start at the very north and push west, and then go down a few levels until you can push the 2nd level-far left block east, and then go south and west for the stairs down.

Go east and north for a save point, and then southeast for stairs down. Go north, taking the left path and pushing the block on the glyph. North more and take the right path, doing the same thing but with two blocks this time (north one first). Grab another Crest Graph, and go north and left for another block puzzle. Push one of the slightly towards the other, and then go to the other one and push it all the way over and on the glyph. Another Crest Graph. The fourth block puzzle actually yields a Shining Cape for Cecilia, something useful and not obsolete like Crest Graphs. At the very end is another block puzzle and Cecilia gets the Vase as a tool. Go all the way south to the staircase and west back to the Save Point.

Use the Vase on the fire to the north and hit the switch. Take the left path and push the blocks ever so slightly so that you can fit in where the fire is, pour the water on it and get the Duplicator. Take the right path now and do the same but go north. Heal yourself before you go all the way.

You’ll meet the Sea Dragon Lucadia. Before you know it, Lady Harken is here too. She uses Laser Silhouette on one character for 300-400 damage and an all-party attack that does the same damage. You’ve fought more potent bosses recently, put it that way. Use Blast Charge / Meteor Strike with Jack and Rocket Launcher (hopefully maxed out in ATP). Have Cecilia cast Arm Down a few times and that Rocket Launcher will be doing nearly 4000.

Lady Harken flees, unable to destroy the Ray Line. You get Lucadia, the Triton Rune. Very nice statistical increase in Sorcery and Vitality.

Outer Sea

You’re finally here. Careful though, the enemies are very difficult in these parts. There is a lot more for you to explore considering you haven’t seen anything around here yet.

Isle of Conflict

Sail straight to the south and land. Southwest here and you’ll find an Isolated Guild. Spend some time here dissolving the low-level spells that you don’t use too often and begin getting advanced magic. You probably have lots of Crest Graphs left over. Get about 20-25 of the new level spells and Cecilia will be a new woman. Most importantly your healing spells will be improved, as her Heal was pretty poor for the last few hours of gameplay.

Ancient Arena

West of the Isle of Conflict is the Ancient Arena. Go right for a Duplicator, and the Inn has a Full Revive and Power Apple. Leave and travel to the southwest near Baskar, and you’ll find a Duplicator.

Deserted Isle

East of Arctica (northeast part of the continent) and you’ll see a Deserted Isle. You’ll get Heavens Rune, Solus Emsu’s Rune.

Since you’re in the area, go to where the Photosphere was. You’ll see Rigdobrite, the Star Rune. Another good for for multiple-attributes.

Snow Ravine

North of the Deserted Isle and Arctica, you’ll see an island with a Snow Ravine. You get Aru Sulato’s rune, the Ice Rune.

Demon Lab

Cast Teleport to Milama and sail north to the Demon Lab. Blow the structures up on the first floor and continue north to the stairs going down. There is an elevator here that takes you down a level.

Go north to the wall and west, down the first set of stairs for a Bazooka ARM for Rudy. This hits all enemies but isn’t as good as the Rocket Launcher for one enemy. Back to the stairs and then take the next set of stairs for a Revive Fruit. Another elevator around here.

Take the right room when you get off the elevator to get two Potion Berries and a Mega Berry. The left room has a Potion Berry and Energy Saber. Take the center route for a save point and the elevator.

In the following area is a big door and four little doors (two on each side). You are to go in each, starting from the far left and work your way to the far right. Defeat the scientist and the other enemies, and turn on each CPU they were on. At the fourth one, choose next parameter until you get to Change Data. Do this, and then Display Data to find the password.

Take the front door now. Enter Demon Gate and go north. Harken is here with the Dark Teardrop. She likes Magnum Fang (600 damage on one), Asrael (300 damage on one) and Harken Tempest (500 damage on each). Have Rudy assault her with Rocket Launcher and Jack use his best Fast Draws. Cecilia should be casting Arm Down and Slow Down, and heal when necessary (really not that often). Since Harken is a pushover, you have time to use Trickster to steal a Secret Sign. Alhazad comes in after the battle to get Harken and the Dark Teardrop.

Go north and go west / east for a Bullet Clip on each side. Go to the north CPU now. Look at it and then cast Escape to get out of here.

Baskar Village

Teleport here and talk to the chief. He has something to say to you about Courage and Power, etc. You can also go to Court Seim to learn some more things.

Forgotten Ruins

From Court Seim, travel southwest (Get the Crest Graph) and get off on the beach to the west. Travel south and east to the Forgotten Ruins. You’ll see an Ocarina here to call the golem to wherever you are. You can also get a Bullet Clip here.

Wandering Isle

Go south of Court Seim for the Wandering Isle cave. Just continue north here until you reach a grapple. Travel west via grapple to a new area.

You’ll be in a new area now with tons of grapples. Explore this to find several items. In the northeast is a Crest Graph, north and west of this is a Magic Carrot, southwest of this for a Red Jacket, and in the very south is a Sioux Poncho. Continue along, take the west path, jump down to save, and then continue out of here.

Dead Sanctuary

Walk southwest of here first to an Isolated Guild to rest. Now use the Ocarina to call the golem. You can travel across the shallow water to the Dead Sanctuary.

Continue along the path and you’ll see a Gray Statue on the right. Push it up a little bit and go north. Push the next grey statue west all the way onto the green glyph. Now push the west statue west and then go south to get a Wise Slate. Back to the other room and bomb the central-north door. Use the Vase to get rid of the fire and push the statue on the green glyph.

Return to the other room and push the statue facing the right on the green glyph. This opens the right door. Get the Mystic Apple in front of you, and then the Mystic Apple in the southwest corner. Go north now.

Take the west path and go south for an Elder Scroll. This will be put on Cecilia immediately. Go to the southeast so that you can get the Crest Graph. Work your way west and northwest for the stairs. Next room, go south, west, and north for the stairs. The next room actually has a treasure, two Mystic Apples in the southeast.

Three paths to go here. Put out the fires, and take the middle path twice. Now take the left path and you’ll be in an open room. To continue here – push the red statue on the left glyph, the gold statue on the middle glyph, the blue statue on the right glyph, and bomb the green statue. North for the stairs.

Follow this path until you get the Lunar Rod for Cecilia. Definitely save here and rest up. Use the Teardrop and up ahead we have Battle #2 with Boomerang and Luceid.

Starting off with Hi Shield would be good, or try to slow Boomerang down. Boomerang (Double Boomerang Dynamic) and Luceid (Large Moon) both have attacks that take off around 1200-1400. Fortunately they mostly use their attacks that take off 300-600. Luceid seems to use the most powerful attacks and likes Purple Electric (900 damage) a lot. Chances are you’ll be spending revive fruits on getting Cecilia back alive or whomever. Just keep Rudy in long enough to have his maxed out Rocket Launcher blow Luceid away, and then it’ll be all downhill for Boomerang after that. The first 5 turns or so are pretty damn hard to stay alive so good luck. Your only reason for optimism is their relatively low HP totals.

Get the Goddess Idol, Lion Idol, and Dragon Idol here. These are the fossilized essences of Courage, Love and Hope. Cecilia gets High Guardian Force here. Before you leave, go north with Jack to get Shadow Bind Fast Draw hint. Just save up for Sonic Vision to kill him.

Gate Generator

Go south and save, then case Escape to exit Dead Sanctuary. As you leave, Zeikfried will capture you. You are in the Gate Generator and he pits you against three Amplifiers. These guys are a pain with their Slow Down and Sleep tactics. They do give a ton of EXP though.

When you gain control, go left for a Bullet Clip and two Magic Carrots. Save and go east and south to exit. West in the next room to continue, and then stairs down in the northwest. You’ll get a Heal Berry here, but as you come back you’ll see Zed. Use the Grapple on him and he’ll run off.

Fortunately he opens the right door in the previous room so go up the stairs. You’ll be stopped by electricity but just use the Skates to go south until you reach a fourway. Go north to flip the lever Zed flipped, and then south to go through.

Flip the southeast lever, and then the lever just northwest of that. Then grapple west and the southwest corner has Secret Sign, Crest Graph and Bullet Clip. Return to the fourway and take the east path for stairs up. Take the first path you see for two Potion Berry’s and a Force Unit. The next area you’ll find Zed again but go south for a Nectar quick. You’ll see Zed use a lever so just use this same one. Continue until you get to a room with lots of blocked paths.

You need to be smart here, as the lever opens the door to the right of it. So, hit lever 1, 2, 3, 2, and 4 to make sure Zed doesn’t lock you in. Save and continue north to meet Diablo, the Crimson Hellstorm. Diablo has a Flame Shooter that does about 400-600 on each, physical attacks that do about 600-700, and Rolling Attack for 1200-1500. Diablo is weak against Freeze, so Snow Rune and Stoldark will do massive damage (like 8000-9000). Hi-Freeze does around 3000-4000 too. Not really a tough battle although the Rolling Attack can knock you out.

Rest up before you go further north. A tough boss battle looms and you may wish to re-charge with a Bullet Clip for your Rocket Launcher or Magic Carrots for the other two. Put any password in and the door opens. You’ll be warned if you are to go in so you’ll know where the boss is.

Ziekfried is definitely the toughest of the Quarter Knights. He likes to use Negative Rainbow for 800-1000 HP on everyone. Glumzamber takes off the most at around 1000-1200. Make sure to cast Remedy and Hi-Heal, and Hi-Shield to reduce damage beforehand. Slow Down will allow you to make sure you get a Heal off. Like usual, the Rocket Launcher will be what gets you through this fast. Have Remedy ready at all times and you’ll be okay.

Lots of scenes here but I won’t spoil it. You’ll end up in Adlehyde and the party is with Emma, Jane, McDullen and Bartholomew.

Wild Arms

To begin the game you can choose between three characters. Choose whoever you like but I’ll start with Jack and Hanpan.

Jack’s Quest

This is a good tutorial on how to use Jack. After they run around in the opening, go south and get the Heal Berry near you. You’ll notice you can send Hanpan around to get treasures for you, remember this for later. Take the right path and go north along the wall and hit the switch. Go west all the way now and use Hanpan to get the Cowboy Hat for Jack. Now go through the door that opened from the previous switch.

Go south and use Hanpan for the Heal Berry. Take the lower left path, use Hanpan for the switch, and goup the stairs. In the next room, go left for a Heal Berry and right for another, and then through the door. In this room, be careful not to fall off and push the boulder in the middle so that you can have Hanpan hit the switch.

The next area is tricky – you’ll have to run across the spikes, and then in the north part Jack will have to be fast in nailing the switches (or use Hanpan). Hit both, and then the one in the center to continue.

The terrain is difficult here and the Skeletons around here should be a bit tougher. The southwest corner has a Heal Berry and Hide Glove but be fast by the spikes. In the northwest room, step on a switch and then have Hanpan hit the other.

Jack and Hanpan open a portal to an Elw travel device. An Elw talks to Jack, and then you can hit the teleport. Leave for the end of Jack’s quest.

Cecilia

Cecilia is in Curan Abbey. A guardian calls to her and tells her some things. She wakes up in class at the abbey though.

Talk to everyone as Cecilia is about to leave. The east room is messed up and the person is looking for the Pocket Watch which you don’t have yet. Further east and you’ll get a Crest Graph from the teacher. Take this south and west and you’ll see the Magic Guild. With the Crest Graph you just got, Cecilia can choose spells to bind to her (that she can use). Black Magic is attack based and White Magic is restorative / protective etc, but you already knew that likely. You’ll see Cec starts off with Flame and Heal already. May be wise to get Shield for an upcoming boss. Also there is a Heal Berry in a pot in this guild.

Go up the stairs nearby and save, and get the 20 gella in the southeast corner pot. Anje up the other set of stairs has a guardian stone that responds to your Teardrop. Anje then gives you the Pocket Watch.

Now you can go to the library to use the Pocket Watch but you’ll see a book that speaks to you. Return to Sister Mary and then talk to the others. On the west side you will see a few that know about the switches on the guardian statues. Return to the center courtyard and hit the switch on both of the guardians. You can now move them and switch their spots, then use the Teardrop. Now go north and use the Teardrop and you’ll be teleported.

Cecilia should be able to just attack these enemies but Flame will kill them fast. Use the Teardrop on the door, and check the northeast crate in the following area for a switch. In the next room, use one of the crates to hit the switch, and then get the Medicine and Magic Carrot. Follow the path and you’ll reach more crates. Throw them all except the last one, as you need to hit the floor switch and then throw the crate at the east switch. Grab the two Heal Berry’s and go north.

In the actual library you can read the books, but there are three blue ones scattered about that need to be burned in the far north. The first is in the southeast, and you’ll see a Capuche along the way. Look east from the fire for the next blue book, and then go south down the stairs and west immediately for the partially-hidden third blue book. Don’t forget the Magic Carrot west of the Capuche before you enter the next area.

Heal Cec up and prepare for a boss fight. Nelgaul has regular attacks and brutal attacks, both of which can do nothing if you cast Shield a few times. Then just attack or cast Flame while Healing when necessary. If you don’t have Shield you’ll need to Heal more basically. Winning nets you Stoldark who you should equip on Cecilia (Water Rune).

You’ll eventually be transported back and met by Sister Mary. Say your goodbyes to the others, save, and leave. Cecilia’s scenario is over.

Rudy

Rudy is next, as he is doing meaningless jobs in Surf Village. At heart he is a Dream Chaser though.

After work Rudy is rewarded with a Heal Berry. Then he can go around town and search for gella and items. There is a Hardy Apple, 17 Gella, Power Apple, 20 Gella and three Heal Berry’s. Go talk to the Mayor for the Bombs Tool for Rudy, and then a villager runs up. A little boy named Tony ran to the Berry Cave south of village. Naturally, take Rudy there.

Berry Cave

It’s not too hard to find, but do save before leaving Surf. South of there is Berry Cave. As you continue ahead, destroy the huge crate for a Heal Berry. Keep going until you reach a switch that you need to pull to move the guardian.

You’ll have to bomb a lot along the path, but eventually you come to 50 gella and then another 50 gella later. Bomb the sign you see and go north. Eventually you’ll run into a boulder that you should destroy, and then use the switch to move the guardian. When you see a sign that says to walk, be sure not to run, because you’ll be cursed otherwise.

Keep going southeast and you’ll see a Heal Berry, and then a Holy Symbol a little farther ahead the other way. Another huge crate to destroy for a Heal Berry, and then look north as you go west for a boulder to destroy. This opens up a cave with Agile Apple, Hardy Apple and Power Apple. Blow up the crate to the west for a Heal Berry and then go east for another. South of here and you’ll have to press the left then right switch to continue.

Grab the Bullet Clip then save. Rest up with Rudy and then go to Tony, and blow up behind him. Go north, grabbing the Bandanna on your east and then get the Holy Berry in the far north. An eruption happens as you leave. The villagers greet you but a Zombie followed you.

Zombie should be hit with the Hand Cannon constantly. Use Arm Lock if you get your force meter up enough, which you should be able to. Use a Heal Berry if you get around 40 because Rudy is slow and you shouldn’t risk getting killed. Zombie’s regular attacks are weak but his breath attack is tough.

Afterwards, Rudy is denounced by the villagers. The next day he is kicked out, so just save and leave Surf.

Adlehyde

Now that all the single quests are done, you can take all the characters to Adlehyde and “Change” at the save bird to bring them all there. Cecilia needs to go east, Rudy south, and Jack southeast. Bring one of them to Emma, who is in the building north of the Inn with the drill on the front. She hears of some excavation going on at Lolithia’s Tomb and hires you for 500 gella to clear the monsters out. Return to the other two and “recruit” them and you now have a party of 3. Buy all of their equipment so they are caught up and upgrade Rudy’s Arm strength if you have the spare cash.

The town has all sorts of neat things. Most are easy to find in barrels, but there are a few things that are hidden in crates (in the center of town) and the northeast past the trees. Overall, you’ll find 50 Gella, 200 Gella, 7 Gella, Antidote, Magic Carrot, Heat Salve, Power Apple, Hardy Apple and Agile Apple. Also in the castle you will find a Crest Graph on the outside (in the northeast) and a Moon Stone (in the southwest). You should be ready to go to Lolithia’s Tomb now.

Lolithia’s Tomb

Go up and left and enter for a Potion Berry and two Heal Berry’s. Return and go right but not up the ladder and you’ll come to a Power Apple and Mystic Apple. Now go back and up the ladder and follow the path until you reach Emma. Bomb behind her and get the Buckler, then bomb north to enter.

Keep heading north until you reach a room with purple blocks and crates. Destroy the crates to reveal a switch, and have Hanpan get the yellow chest (Heal Berry). Go up and right for 50 Gella and then west and drop down.

Take the north path here and push the blocks out of the way to hit the switch. Grab the Crest Graph and return south, hitting the switch and getting back up top. Take the northwest route now to a new area.

In this new area, go right and up, blowing up bombs as need be. Grab the Revive Fruit and on the third level or so you can work your way west and drop down in the center to where a rock is. Block this rock up and a switch emerges. Go to the other side of the purple barriers and have Hanpan hit it, and then all the exterior barriers (the ones you want down) will be down.

It is easy to get the 130 Gella in the west now, and you can exit to the north.

Save at the save spot and go north and east. In this area, there are two block puzzles in the north. They reveal a Magic Carrot and Heal Berry. Use a Teardrop nearby here to enter the door, where you will get a hint on continuing. Go back up and then southeast to a cliff with a switch. This opens the purple barriers from the far west chest, which is 300 Gella. Now take the straight south path from the Teardrop room and you’ll make your way to a gargoyle. Search behind it for a button, and then push the blocks onto the four corners. Not too hard. Rest up and use the Teardrop.

Magtortous is here to stop you from continuing. His physical attacks are pretty tough and EM Laser attacks each member for about 100. Stay healed especially weak Cec, Shield is useful. PsychoCrack and Arm Lock with Jack and Rudy, and Cecilia can use attack magic if she gets the chance.

North of here, getting the Heal Berry and Magic Carrot. You’ll see Lolithia. Return back to Emma (yes, you have to walk back) and she’ll excavate the thing out. Time to go back to the castle.

Adlehyde

As your party gets back, they decide going to the Inn would be a good idea. So, Reload your ammo, Save, and stay at the Inn. Cecilia leaves the other two to go to the castle.

The next day, the festival is going on east of town. There are some useful things you can do here for decent rewards like Nectar. Also there are Small Flowers to buy to raise your luck (a lady in the center sells them). There are some Gella treasures around here and also Emma who will reward you with 500 Gella. About this time you can talk to the lady in the northeast who can’t find her son with the red balloon. Head back to town and save. Now go to the boy with the red balloon who is just north and west of you.

An FMV starts as the sky cracks. Enemies are ransacking the village and it’s on fire. As you are standing still you can see Cecilia surrounded be enemies. Work your way north to find her and then defeat the Lizardmen and Skeleton to free her. She’ll join you and you’ll have five minutes to save all the villagers. There should be ten total, remember to check the church, very northwest, northeast and in each and every building. There are a lot of dead people that you can do nothing about. Once you find ten, just go north to exit. Five minutes is more than enough time, and the time doesn’t run in battle if you happen to get in one.

The demons and specifically Belselk want the Teardrop and the party is stuck in Adlehyde Castle. Go talk to the king in his room (3rd floor). He orders you to stay here even though the enemy wants the Teardrop. Cecilia though wants to get the enemy away from here and is willing to sneak out and give up the Teardrop.

Save, and prepare for something that is kind of hard. There are guards on the rooftop that run after you so you need to be quick. If they catch you, back you are in Cec’s room. So, leave the room, go south and west all the way. When you take this exit, quickly run west and south as a guard will be coming furiously from the northwest. Your goal is to go south all the way, east all the way, and then north until you can go west. Enter here and down the stairs. Go north and then west quick and south. You’re in the kitchen, and the west-most cook will hook you up to the underground.

Adlehyde Underground

Head to the southeast and pick up the crate in the way. Eventually you’ll will be working your way back southwest a little and then south. There is a path that splits east that leads to Mystic Apple and 3 Gella. West of here is a Power Apple. In the very south you’ll come across an Agile Apple and 120 Gella, and a Hardy Apple that Hanpan can reach. Southeast a little and south more for a Magic Carrot, a save point and stairs.

You’ll be outside now. Get the Potion Berry and leave. Go west and north to see Belselk. Cecilia gives him the Teardrop, but Jack wants to kill him. Be careful with this battle; Belselk is tough and Disruptive Flail can knock you out, with Cecilia being especially prone. Just continue the Arm lock – Hand Cannon and PsychoCrack. Stay healed because if Cec is under 200 HP you’re in trouble with Disruptive Flail. Survive this battle and Belselk will leave.

With peace restored for now, you still need to get the Teardrop back. Cecilia is willing to journey to do so but Jack doesn’t trust her. She cuts her hair and he changes his mind.

After the opening sequence you’ll have control of Jack and Rudy. Take them to the Princess’ room to pick her up, and then go south into the map room. Talk to Johan, and then get the Magic Carrot, 1000 Gella, Power Apple, Mystic Apple, 100 Gella, Revive Fruit, Lucky Card, Bullet Clip and 500 Gella. Leave for the town. It’s destroyed but you can still upgrade your arm and go to the shop. In the center you’ll find a big building that plans on restoring Adlehyde. Donate 500 Gella to this.

Mountain Pass

Go northwest of Adlehyde until you reach a sign. It tells you to go southwest so do so.

You will be at Mountain Pass. Go north and then you’ll be in a dark room. Go north more and you’ll see a lantern, but go west and north to find a Lighter. Now you can light that lantern. Go north of where you got the lighter and eventually you’ll reach another lantern and a north path. Don’t take this yet, but go southeast for a Magic Carrot first. Take the north path now.

Up a bit and light the lantern. The west path leads to a Heal Berry and Antidote. Then you can take the east path, blowing up the rocks and continuing north until you reach a Save Point. West from here and you’ll be outside, where you’ll continue west and see a treasure south of you. It’s just a Heal Berry so continue west and Jack will learn a Fast Draw Technique as the winds draw his attention. When you get Fast Draw techniques, keep using them in battle until they are successful and you’ll learn a new ability. This one is Sonic Buster. Most Fast Draw’s are harder to find than this. Around here you’ll fight Harpy’s often so hopefully you can cope with the Poison.

Further west and go south when you get to the other side. There is an Antidote at the very bottom and also an Antidote at the first west path. Go to the very south and then west to find the exit.

Northeast for a lantern and then west more for another to light. There is another one to the east as you are going south but you likely don’t need it. Keep going south for a fourth lantern and then southwest for an Olive Branch. East a little and then south more but look for another west path that you need to bomb through to get another lantern and a Crest Graph. South more and bomb through the wall to the east for a Magic Map, and then you can exit.

Milama

Head due south for a long ways and you’ll eventually reach Milama. To the east is Sand River Cave and to the west is a Guardian Temple, but we don’t need to see either of those.

As usual, the first thing you should do as you enter is get all the treasures available. East to the Inn for a Hardy Apple, and rest up while you’re there. West all the way for a 10gal Hat and then go in the building to the northeast of the Church for a Cute Ribbon. North of here is a guy acting as an Armor Shop, so upgrade with him. Further north and the building has a Crest Graph in a barrel on the back side and the house itself has a Mystic Apple. Head to the northeast now to find a Heal Berry and three huge crates for Potion Berry, Agile Apple and Power Apple. North of here for 690 Gella and return back to the center of town. Check out the weapon shop and then head southeast to where a dog is guarding a house. Get the 123 Gella and Metal Band in the house. North a bit for a Violet Rose by the pub and then talk to the owner about the Guardian Shrine. Your party will eat there for a bit and then learn more about the 2-10-6-12 password. The owner also gives you the Holy Medal.

Guardian Shrine

Northwest of Milama is the shrine. Go up the stairs on either end as you enter. There are 12 candles here, unlit. Remember what the bartender said, and light the 2nd, 10th, 6th then 12th one (think of it as clock hours) and then all of them will be lit. Return to the first floor, go in front of the center sealed door, and use the Holy Medal to continue.

Go straight south for three Mystic Apples. West of here for a Magic Carrot and up then west for a Crest Graph. Return west but go south back to the initial room, and then east to find another Magic Carrot. Go north and then east for a Crest Graph yet again. Now go north and you’ll see the paths merge. Save and go more north.

You’ll be at another candle puzzle. This is tricky because thet maze appears as you light a candle. In order to succeed, you need to start with the northeast, then the east, then the northwest, and just continue on until you get the center one.

The party goes into the pool. They are separated, so you’ll do one by one. The characters gain a ton of EXP by themselves so the enemies will be useful. Jack just has to utilize Hanpan for hitting switches and he’s more than capable enough to handle the battles. When the paths split to three, take the left one first to get two switches, and then take the right one to continue. Jack will come to a sword and he thinks he’ll finally be able to get revenge. After the scene switch to someone else.

Cecilia has blocks to push. Push the left one twice and then the right one to continue. Next room push the right block north and move on.

Rudy has to bomb boulders and his can be difficult because you’ll be blocked off often. Bomb left twice, then the middle twice, the right side three times and finally you can go all the way west. From here just go north all the way and east then north to the end for Rudy’s scene.

With all the characters here, they meet the Guardians that were testing them. They are friends of Stoldark – Gurdijeff (Earth), Moa Gault (Fire), and Fengalon (Wind). They join you and you get the second force, the ability to summon Guardians (50 % full force gauge). Some more scenes and then the party lands in a distant area.

Baskar Village

Just go northwest from where you start off. This is a very remote village. Go west and talk to the guy nearby as he has upgraded weapons / armor for everyone. There is a Power Apple directly to the north, and then 98 Gella and a Heal Berry to the right. In the far north part of town is an Agile Apple, Magic Carrot, Heal Berry, 800 Gella, and a Crest Graph.

Visit the elder in the first part of town. He tells you of the guardian statues sealing Mother, an evil you don’t want resurrected. You must first go to Mt. Zenom to defend the one there. Then he tells you to go to the Wind Altar to see Zephyr. So, go north but you won’t be able to summon it. Rest up and leave town.

Mount Zenom

Enter and move the right statue north to continue. Follow the path and you’ll be outside where you go west for a Heal Berry and Lucky Card (hidden on the north part). Further to the west for a Blue Circlet and the exit.

Keep following north, burning through the grass to get to the stairs up. Once you get outside, go northeast and north when you can for a Secret Sign and then east back into the cave. Take the south route so you can push the non-glowing guardian east and then north to continue. Keep following the path, burning the grass as you see it.

You’ll be back outside, where you can go south for 5 Heal Berries that you need Hanpan for. As you come back up, Jack will get another Fast Draw hint. It is Meteor Dive. Go west for a Potion Berry and then back in the cave. Keep burning through grass because one of them is hiding a switch in the north area. Soon you’ll be back outside.

Take the right path and push the guardians north into place. Grab the Mystic Word and go back to the snowy exterior. Take the west path and save. Keep following the path and you’ll get to push more guardian statues into place. Rest up because there is a boss ahead.

Belselk

destroys the statue at the end and sends the Orga Widow at you. This enemy can be meddlesome with ailments like Poison and some decent physical attacks. Use Meteor Dive, Hand Cannon, and Stoldark Summon with Cecilia for maximum damage. After the battle you get Tenoginos the Summit Rune.

Although you have to run out of here (or cast Exit) you will be able to get an extra Crest Graph from jumping off the light brown planks. Leave back for Baskar after the scenes.

Baskar Village

Talk to the elder to learn about the other two statues in Port Timney and Saint Centour. You get a Kizim Fire to light the Elw Temple so that you can warp.

Elw Pyramid

You’ll find this Elw Pyramid to the northeast. Go up and west when you enter, and north through the door behind the waterfall. Administer the Kizim Fire to the control panel. You can go up and to the center to find a glowing warp. Leave the next pyramid but get the Hard Guard for Jack.

Saint Centour

Go straight south to find Saint Centour. You are blocked initially because of Hanpan but then get in.

Begin scouring the town and you’ll find 100 Gella in the southwest, an Agile Apple north of that and a building just south of here. Enter and the guy has a key to Cage Tower where all the abductions are leading to. There is 100 gella in the southeast and a Crest Graph too. In the northern area is 250 Gella, Hardy Apple, Power Apple and Magic Carrot. Not much to do here besides the usual weapon / armor upgrade and a trip to the Magic Guild / Arm store.

Cage Tower

With the Key Plate (Cage Tower key) in hand, rest up and travel northeast to find the tower. The Key Plate is used right away to open the main gate.

Take the left stairs and hit the switch, and return and take the other path. Go south and to the west, eventually to the north for a Crest Graph. Take the stairs below this and hit the switch, and return back to the previous floor and take the far east stairs. Now you can continue past where the barriers were.

In the next area you’ll have to walk fast across the falling squares. Make it to the other side for the stairs up. Be careful on the second floor though. As you get to the south part of it, quickly, move onto the platform and don’t waste any more platforms. Grab the Round Shield, Bullet Clip and the Prism Laser ARM. Continue back along and up.

The third platform area is tricky. As you go south, take a west to reach land and hit the switch. Now you want to get back on and move to the southeast for another switch and then you can go up. Just keep going now until you reach a save point.

Reach the inscription on the wall, and then go to the south with the three stairs. Go east, west, and then east, and continue until you reach the three Goat Dolls. They are an instant revival if you die (get used to these things). Now you’ll have to go up a ton of stairs and eventually you’ll find a south exit. Rest up and climb. The next boss is weak against Earth so give Cecilia the Earth Rune.

As you get up there, Alhazad appears and summons Night Gaunt to bother you. Meanwhile he makes a threat about the town and the statue there, but you have to defeat N Gaunt first. Use Meteor Dive and Hand Cannon as usual. Cecilia can do a lot of things, from casting Arm. Down to Break or using her Earth Rune Guardian (best idea). Of course she has to heal too, although N Gaunt really only attacks and uses Mysterious Ray (100 damage on each). Gurdijeff will take off over a 1000 if equipped on Cecilia, and even without this you should have no problem with this boss.

Afterwards, you have to pay a girl named Jane Maxwell 2000 gella to free you. Otherwise known as Calamity Jane, she travels with McDullen. Cast Escape (hopefully you have this at this point) and go back to the town.

Saint Centour

The town is empty. Take a rest and save. Let’s explore and get some of the treasures we couldn’t earlier. Beware though, there are monsters roaming.

You can now get two Potion Berry’s and a Secret Sign in the bar. North for a Lucky Card, and north more for a Bone. In the southwest part is a Bullet Clip and north of that is an important Duplicator. Back to the center for an Ambrosia and the Saint Rune, Ione Paua. Not much else to do here although the free Inn and fighting up in town is kind of useful. Save and leave.

Just south of the Cage Tower is another Elw Pyramid. A scene with the demons preparing for the revival of Mother.

Elw Pyramid

You can stop at the shop by here first if you need items. Take the active warp in this pyramid and leave the next one.

Port Timney

Just southwest and then north of the Elw Pyramid is Port Timney, where the final guardian is.

Grab the Hardy Apple just east of you and the 480 gella at the north part of this building. In the northwest are weapons / armor you already have and an Arms Meister. In the south part of town is 30 gella, 2000 gella and a Crest Graph. In the north part of town, blow up the huge crates and a guy is hiding in one. Jack will learn the Fast Draw Technique here. There is a Potion Berry right by this guy and a Revive Fruit in the building near him. One last treasure, blow up the crate behind the Bar and go west for a Duplicator.

At the bar is Bartholomew who talks about the Crystal Bud at the Maze of Death. Of course the party will have to go get it.

Maze of Death

In the desert to the northwest of town, you’ll find the Maze of Death. Actually, it moves around here so you have to be quick. You can tell you are getting near when it zooms in, so use that as your best source of judgment for finding it. This place is pretty wild to keep track of where you are.

Push the block north when you come to it, then push the right one and go down. You’ll come to an Agile Apple, Hardy Apple, Mystic Apple and Power Apple.

Go back to the center room and push the middle block horizontally and take the north path to save. Take the northwest path quick to push a statue in place. Next, take the southwest path and it is linear to a point. When it splits up, go east and south to a room with a guardian you need to push and a Crest Graph just before that. North of here and you’ll see a floor switch that reveals a staircase. Go down here to push another statue. Take the north exit and you’ll see a Heal Berry and Magic Carrot. Keep running east and jump down.

Go east and north for another statue to push into place. South of this for a button that reveals a staircase, and then you can just keep heading south. You’ll reach a Clear Chime and another statue to push. Back north, take the east path when you can and all the statues should be pushed over. The Crystal Bud awaits you but it sets off a timer as the Maze of Death is about to be destroyed.

You have three minutes to get the hell out of here, but battle does make the timer stop. The general idea is to sprint south and that turns west. Then you go north until you can go west, and take the south exit up ahead. This leads to the six rock room so you can leave if you want. However go north in the center to where the save point was – it is gone but you can bomb the north wall.

Go north and grab the Crest Graphs on the side (two of them) and take the stairs. Again, take the west stairs and go north. Rest up, give the Saint Rune to Cecilia and go to the white thing. Use Meteor Strike and Hand Cannon like usual. Cecilia will be healing but she could cast Holy on Jack’s weapon or use the Saint Rune for massive damage (1000 +). Chaos however can put your entire party to sleep, and use Gamma Ray for a ton of damage. Purple Electric is powerful but not quite so much as Gamma Ray. The biggest issue is when he puts you to sleep and then spams Gamma Ray (although he’ll sometimes cast Sleep and Silence constantly).

You’ll get the Death Rune afterwards. You should have enough time to run south and exit (or cast Escape).

Port Timney

Bartholomew will buy the Crystal Bud for 5000 gella. Before you know it, Bartholomew is getting married to Cecilia!

When you’re on the boat, there are no treasures but talk to everyone for the correct answers to the wedding. Save and rest and the wedding will ensue immediately after. The “correct” answers are b, a, b, b, a, b, a, b, a, b. Soon though, a demon named Zed comes to destroy the guardian statue. He’s easy to defeat despite his dominant agility. Just be cautious and realize he’ll go first every turn. Cast Arm. Down on him, having Cecilia heal and the other two use Meteor Strike / Hand Cannon. Zed’s best move is Garyu Ichimongiri and that takes off about 400 while Doom Bringer does about half that. You get 1400 for this battle.

However, there is an enemy in the back. It is Lady Harken and she blocks a Jack attack and then slashes the statue in half. You get Nua Shakks, the Thunder Rune.

Back on the ship, save, and go to the far west to talk to Bartholomew. He gives you 5000 gella, Mega Berry, Full Revive, Lucky Card and a Magic Wand, a tool for Cecilia so that she can talk to animals. This is useful, actually. Agree to go back to Port Timney.

Re-fill your ammo, save and leave. Stoldark realizes that the Queen Mother, Lord of the Demons, is going to be revived. Sure enough, the Quarter Knights watch as Mother is now alive and well.

Elw Temple

Go south of Port Timney for another Elw Temple. Unfortunately you need two Duplicators, one was in Saint Centour and the other in Port Timney.

Milama

Head to the southeast part of town. Use the Wand on the dog to get the Radar. This is a one of my favorite tools and makes finding treasures so much easier. You’ll hear a noise if a treasure is in the area and it’ll flash if you can see it.

Sand River

Save and go to the Sand River, just east of Milama. This place can be tricky as you may find yourself on quick sand moving to a new area.

Talk to the Monkey with the Wand and then follow him right into the wall and then north all the way. Take the nearby staircase and grab the Hardy Apple you see south of you. East of here and south for a Power Apple and then enter the cave.

Straight north and bomb it for an Orb of Power. Continue west and follow the path (don’t jump off the plank) and you’ll find a Power Apple and Hardy Apple. Now jump off the east end of the ledge.

There will be a cave directly north of you, and a Lucky Card just east as you enter. Go into the sand north of you, and get the Hardy Apple to the northwest before you exit to the southeast. Save and continue along.

Hop in the sand to the east as you go south. Light the two lanterns and Jack learns a Fast Draw technique, Heal Blade. This is incredibly valuable with Jack’s high RES. Get back in the sand and you’ll be near the beginning now. Go east and south, back in the cave and en route back to the Save Point. When you reach the save point, save and then go all the way south to a staircase down. Just keep going east and up another staircase. Next room do the same but you’ll come to a Power Apple and then the staircase. Just go south to leave the Sand River.

Ship Graveyard

A desolate former port. Get the Serenade to your west and Agile Apple northwest of that. In the northwest is an Arms Meister with a Power Apple outside. North of town, a Revive Fruit and Toy Hammer have washed up. Check back at the beach often as more items will come later. The two crates southeast of here have two Heal Berry’s. Not much left, but the Inn has two Heal Berry’s east of it and a Hardy Apple. A Potion Berry is to the east in another huge crate.

Buy the expensive yet worth it equipment, and then talk to Dan in the southeast. He tells of the Guardian Blade in the Pleasing Garden.

Pleasing Garden

Save and go outside in the desert. Like the Maze of Death, you need to walk all around to find the Pleasing Garden as it moves around. Again, just watch for the zoom. This one seems a bit more difficult to find than the Maze of Death though.

Go north to the teleport, and then continue north but take the east exit. You’ll reach another portal. Head east and look for an opening in the light. This takes you to a save point.

Up ahead is a four way, taking a left leads to a Heal Berry, north leads to a dead end (for now) and south leads to a portal. Grab the Duplicator to the right and hit the portal again. You’ll be at an area with purple barriers so hit the portal once again. This area has a portal in the west building that takes you to the beginning. Don’t take this portal though – instead, take the portal that you appear by. Go north, west, and south all the way to where the Heal Berry was. Now go back north and left and hit the switch (you have to go in the Heal Berry room to get it to appear).

Return back to the initial fourway with the portals to the south. Take them and eventually you can go south on the second one. You’ll reach a room with a Gigmantis crawling around. Rudy has to bomb it and then you have to walk into it to begin the fight.

Rest up and do so. Mantis Fist does a few hundred damage, and Zero Armor does about 400 or so. Use Arm. Down right away and then the Meteor Strike / Hand Cannon combo. Jack can also use Heal Blade to relieve Cecilia of the healing duties. She should be casting Freeze and using Stoldark (for about 2000 damage). Just stay healed because the mantis is fast.

Take the Mantis head and throw it at the north switch. Go south and Jack gets another awesome tool, the Grapple (Grappling Hook). Take the portal to the north, and then take the west portal. Go all the way west now for two Crest Graphs that are now available. Go back east and take that path going north through the sun.

Save and go north, west, then north again. You can grapple across (I’m sure you remember plenty of other places to grapple as well, like Lolithia’s Tomb and Elw Temples) and will reach three portals. Take the middle one for the Bracelet. Escape and return to Dan.

Ship Graveyard

Jack gets Sonic Vision, his third force level, after giving the Bracelet to Dan. You’ll hear of a Ghost Ship at the end, so rest up, save, and go to the dock. Bartholomew is here and wants you to get rid of the Ghost Shipin the lake that is disturbing everyone. He’s willing to take you there when you’re ready.

Ghost Ship

Take the left path when you enter, and go down the stairs. Get the Potion Berry to the right, and then try grappling southeast. There is a candle down here so you can explore the east side more. There is a Secret Sign and a Potion Berry that Hanpan can get. Take the stairs going down in the north, and light the candle nearby.

In the second room to the left a Cybergeist will attack you. In the third left room is a book that tells of a switch next to a bed. Go all the way to the right and enter that room. Another Cybergeist to defeat, and in the northeast corner is a switch. Press it and a staircase down is nearby. Light some candles and just keep going west to another staircase.

Three blue treasures here that you can’t get to. Just take the staircase and then grapple to the east side and take that staircase. Hanpan can get the Magic Carrot and Potion Berry, and a Lucky Card on the deck to the south. Return to the grappling area and take the west path. Save your game and go on deck.

Grab the Potion Berry, rest up, and go left. Captain Geist is here to stop you. This is another great fight to abuse Ione Paua for 2000 damage a hit (on Cecilia mind you) or cast Holy on Jack’s weapon. Try out Jack’s Sonic Vision too. He likes to Stun you and do some mediocre attacks like Banishing Buster Anchor. You get a whopping 7800 gella for this (could be a good Lucky Card use).

You have to walk all the way out, but when you leave the Ghost Ship you’ll see the evil be purged from the sea.

Ship Graveyard

Bartholomew rewards you with the Sweet Candy, kind of. He’ll let you use it. A Wind Vane, Crest Graph and Goat Doll washed up on shore. Rest up, save and leave. You can now travel by ship.
