Destiny of an Emperor II Secrets

You may be wondering what exactly constitutes "secrets". Well, they're not really secrets, just the more rare aspects of the game that generally are the topics of e-mails.

1. Final weapons/armor - Let me first say I am still missing a few final weapons. Here is a list of them though.

Great Armor - best armor you can equip. You can find this in several chests, from Chen Cang to Luo Castle.

Sky Helmet - better than the Wind Hat. There are two of these (without duplication); in Luo Castle and the mountain east of Chang An.

Fortune Shield - best shield by far. Only one that I know of, and it is seven spaces east of the weapon/armory shop. Duplication highly suggested.

Snake Spear - given to you by the old man in the northwest corner of Chang 'An.

Qing Gang Sword - I've found one of these in my lifetime and it was one of my last run-throughs of the game. Cao Pi at Si Li Citadel dropped it. It's possible one of the generals he has with him drops it randomly.

Thunder Axe - In Wu Zhang Yuan Gate. Search the main road inside that is going south ("Check" the left-most passage going south, shouldn't be hard).

Li Guang Bow - have not found this yet. Chances are it is a random general battle item, or it is somewhere on the ground that you must check towards the end of the game.

UPDATE - Connr from the lordyuanshu.com forum has stated that he received the Li Guang Bow from the Jia Xu ambush battle (right after defeating Cao Cao). I haven't confirmed this but judging by the fact that every enemy uses bows in that battle, it probably is true.

Zeng Zong Saber - read Li Guang Bow. These are the only two missing final weapons/armor.

2. Item duplication trick - First I'd like to thank Samuel Lee once again as I would have no idea this existed if not for him. As far as the trick, your top character must have a full inventory and a weapon equipped, along with the item that you wish to duplicate in the inventory. Drop this item. Un-equip and then re-equip your weapon. DO NOT MOVE. "Check" the ground to find your duplicate-desired item. Drop it again, but you'll notice it'll stay in your inventory still. However when you do "Check" again, you'll pick up the item. Congratulations, you just duplicated an item.

One important thing to note is that there are certain things you can't duplicate (because you can't drop these items). Evidently there are those who can even override this to drop important items such as the Zheng Letter that you get after killing Yuan Shu. With this you can use it on random generals that you see, and it recruits some (like Zhou Yu). Again I haven't seen any of this for myself as I wasn't able to drop/duplicate the Zheng Letter.

This is especially useful with items like the SpdShoes, Gauntlet and the Treatise. You can only find one of each but you can make five of them (so each character has all three items).

3. Ba Castle and Yi Ling Castle can be skipped entirely. Ba Castle is accessible when you first sail to south Shu (after the Pang Tong death event). Instead, you can just go to Ba Citadel and continue on to conquer Shu. When Liu Zhang dies, Ba Castle turns over to your side. Yi Ling is similar. After the Wu Alliance at Chi Bi, you can sail towards Nan Jun and Yi Ling, but skip Yi Ling and go to Nan Jun. The Nan Jun battle will be harder with Niu Jin joining the normal participants and their defense will be skyrocketed. Afterwards, Yi Ling Castle is yours without a fight.

4. Arrays / Tactics

Forum or Destiny of an Emperor 2 Tactics / Arrays

5. Low-level game

I personally have no tried a quest such as this, but Taishi Ci has.

6. Other

- Never talk to Zhang Bao after Zhang Fei and Guan Yu run off to defend Shu. His lack of intelligence is alarming and you're better off leaving him be.
