Final Fantasy II 2 US FAQ

 

Final Fantasy 4, also known as Final Fantasy 2 US, is the first FF on the SNES. It certainly has to be considered the best Final Fantasy up to this point, with difficult yet more reasonable gameplay, lots of playable characters and pretty good graphics at this time (probably just as good as the next FF, FF5).

 

Characters are done well, although it's unfortunate that you can never choose your party. Most of them are just injured too badly to continue on with you. The FF4 released on GBA allows you to choose from these characters (Edward, Palom, Porom, Cid and Yang).

 

Dark Knight Cecil finds himself banished from Baron and the Red Wings and he's sent on a mission from the suddenly-cruel king to kill off some summoners with his best friend Kain.

 

Cecil eventually extinguishes the evil out of himself at Mt. Ordeals and the real battle against Golbez then begins. Golbez is racing to collect the crystals of light and darkness (in the underworld) in order to go to the moon to see Zemus.
