Ergh; reply is not working. But basically, DoaE fans should have no problems identifying some of the officers and usign that. After all, how many officers are blond? (hint: one)
August 20, 2009 at 1:53 am #36882Mitch DavisParticipantOk, I want to know before I download the Japanese or Chinese versions whether or not they're complete, and if anyone could possibly be working on an English version(if so, that would make my day because the game looks kickass)

Destiny of an Emperor III (SNES) is the real Destiny of an Emperor III. It is in Japanese. It is a unique strategy-type game (more like the Romance of the Three Kingdoms games, but with some DoaE elements).
Destiny of an Emperor III (Genesis) is a fan made game. Destiny of an Emperor III Genesis is in Chinese. This is the game we have a guide for right now on the main part of lordyuanshu.com. Basically, it's a game ripped off of a Final Fantasy VI sort of engine, and plays like it but with Liu Bei and friends.
To be honest, I haven't played much of both, and I think the SNES DoaE III has great potential, if only I knew the language or if it were translated.

August 21, 2009 at 1:50 pm #36885DragonAtmaModeratorLong, long ago, I got started with sloooowly translating the officer names in the snes version. Now, I don't speak japanese, but take a look at these officers:
Wei:
Wu:
Shu:
Other:
Those of us who played other DoaE games should have no problem identifying them. Even thsoe who haven't should be able to figure out at least some of them!

Yea, you can still guess which officers are which based on location of the map, which ruler you have, their avatar, etc. But a game like DoaE III SNES has to be translated to really be able to play. DoaE III Genesis is the type of standard RPG that you can go through without needing to know the language because you can just talk to everyone and level up quickly. Flows well even if you don't know the language, whereas figuring out what you're doing in DoaE III SNES isn't as easy.

Anyway, I tried linking to some of the obvious ones (such as Guan Yu and Lu Bu), but as you can see, it wouldn't accept them.
August 23, 2009 at 1:14 pm #36890Lord Yuan ShuKeymasterWell, so long as the address is right and the file-type is right you should be able to link to photos on this forum.

Huo Hu's Adventure started Destiny of an Emperor hackingAugust 23, 2009 at 4:25 pm #36891DragonAtmaModeratorThat's what I did. For the record, they were ten pics from the "images of every DoaE3 officer" thread.
August 23, 2009 at 6:28 pm #36892Lord Yuan ShuKeymasterSome of the pictures for DoaE III SNES and Genesis are corrupt because they were CommieCatGirl's and I think she moved the images or deleted them.
Linking me to the exact thread would be nice though, I could look at it more.

Huo Hu's Adventure started Destiny of an Emperor hackingAugust 25, 2009 at 7:33 pm #36893DragonAtmaModeratorThe thread is here. Considering the post dates back a year, yet the pics still show up, I don't think that's it…
