I believe that something with the dueling is causing Zhang Jiao and his gang to disappear… In a run through of the mod with no duels, those guys never disappeared, however, in a run through where I used duels, they disappeared from both the battles and the cave. Might want to check on this one.
February 12, 2013 at 2:17 am #44468sonic.penguinModeratorOkay, this bug also seems to be removing the guy that becomes recruitable in Luo Yang (after the guy in Si Shui gate is recruited). Quite a number of people are being removed, I wonder if it has to do with the removal code of an officer during dueling that is borking things up.
February 12, 2013 at 2:44 am #44469MiDKnighTModeratorI'm kinda skeptical that duel could cause either of those. The first one (Zhang Jiao and his gang disappearing) is likely due to moving events around. I've moved events around and it caused things to happen like that. A lot of the events are sequential so if you trigger a later event it assumes the previous events are done. The only way duel could do it is if they got killed in a duel which is unlikely since you probably have their stats high enough to prevent it and you'd know if duel killed them. Only other way is if duel was going to kill someone else but accidentally killed them? I just don't see that happening though after the previous testing.
As for the Luo Yang thing that's probably because of the recruiting chain that Meterostrike talked about:
Quote:It's just a recruiting chain… you must recruit person B to be able to get person C, but you must recruit person A to be able to recruit person B, and so on. I found out that Wang Gui does not show up in Luo Yang either unless some other previous General was recruited in some other town…http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/563402-destiny-of-an-emperor/47999342?page=1
February 13, 2013 at 1:11 am #44470sonic.penguinModeratorNo, its not the event thing at all, that was the first thing I checked for. They have disappeared as a result of the officer disappearing bug, I'm sure of it. Also, you can defeat Dong Zhuo and THEN return to defeat the yellow turbans. It still works. I will test it again tonight. Will fill you in if that is TRULY what caused the officers to disappear…
February 13, 2013 at 1:37 am #44471sonic.penguinModeratorOkay, so perhaps not. It might have been due to constantly editing with DOAEditor while doing a playthrough.
Quote:since you probably have their stats high enough to prevent itActually thats another problem. The players party guys are seeming to get killed too easily, especially integral characters like Sun Ce >_>
February 13, 2013 at 3:38 am #44472MiDKnighTModeratorIs Sun Ce just losing duels or is he getting KILLED (ie…removed from the game)? His stats should be high enough to prevent him from being outright KILLED unless he's on the mismatch list.
As for winning or losing party leader matters for both sides. Also if Sun Ce has 235 STR and keeps losing to a guy with 225 STR that may be normal for duel depending on party leader, overall generals in the battle, and other factors. 235 STR vs 225 STR is pretty close. If Sun Ce had 235 STR and kept losing to a guy with 180 STR then there might be an issue…
February 13, 2013 at 9:06 pm #44473sonic.penguinModeratorMostly, my issue was Lu Bu killing officers such as Sun Ce or Huang Gai at Hulao Gate. I think party leaders play a pretty huge role as a 250 str guy can lose to a 230 str guy with a weak leader up front. Somehow, this process has to be explained to players in the game.
February 13, 2013 at 9:08 pm #44474MiDKnighTModeratorBeating them in a duel or KILLING them? If Sun Ce is getting KILLED (and removed from the game) then it sounds like a bug since his stats should be high enough to avoid death in a duel (unless on the mismatch list).
February 13, 2013 at 9:11 pm #44475sonic.penguinModeratorNope. He has 240 STR and Huang Gai is around 220ish and they are still getting lopped. Rarely alebeit. Gonna try Niahaks new update, stay tuned!
February 13, 2013 at 11:03 pm #44476sonic.penguinModeratorErrr, while I was just doing it for fun, I challenged a Bandit to a duel and it bunked up the game :P

February 14, 2013 at 1:37 am #44478sonic.penguinModeratorWiped out, erased, ultimate ansha'd perma-death!
February 14, 2013 at 1:02 pm #44479MiDKnighTModeratorOuch…ya that shouldn't happen. I'll need to trace it. You wouldn't happen to have a save state (prior to the killing) would you? If you have one I'd need the new ROM too. The ROM expansion killed all my save states.
February 16, 2013 at 2:33 am #44480sonic.penguinModeratorGame is locking up on a duel denial.
February 16, 2013 at 3:57 pm #44481sonic.penguinModeratorBug traces back to a backup even up to a weeek ago. I think I just finally caught up to it now with a reliable savestate. Sent it your way MK
