Did you read what I wrote? :P

I’ll admit I don’t play DS much and won’t until FFIV and Dragon Quest IV / V / VI come out, but I was just talking in terms of how the system is. Of course there is more potential with a 360 or PS3 but they’re not doing a good job of utilizing that potential.

June 18, 2008 at 5:59 am #34308Lord Yuan ShuKeymasterAfter my hospital stay for a few days, I return home and cannot find my GBA or DS for the life of me. I have no idea where this shit went, hopefully no one went in my house and stole them. But I’ve looked all around the house so something fishy must have happened, either that or I completely forgot where I put them.
I’d like to find my DS by the time this game is out!

Thankfully I’ve gone through the game so many times that I actually understand what is happening when officers ‘blah blah blah’ at each other. The inclusion of item graphics (item pouch, sword, shield, etc.) have, so far, made it somewhat easy to manage gear.
I expect healing items and magic are going to become frustrating.
June 26, 2008 at 4:57 am #34313Lord Yuan ShuKeymasterOh nice, did you find it on the intranets or did you just import the J version? Lucky you! Wish I could be playing, less than a month away though…

I downloaded the ROM a while ago and I’m playing it on my DS with an R4. I forgot about it for a while, then noticed it while I was on my break at work. I decided to see what the intro looked like, loaded it up, and decided it was so cool that perhaps I would play a little bit more. One thing led to another and now I’m just about to defend Yang’s castle. A moment ago I was studying the characters for fire, thunder, and ice so I could tell them apart visually. It will be nice to know what kind of elemental damage (or healing) I am clawing into enemies.
There are a lot of nice touches! When you move the cursor over an elemental spell you can see a little graphic for the element. Makes it really easy to find your basic elemental attacks (and, by proxy, things like Yang’s claws). When you have a status ailment it shows under your character’s name, so when you are digging through your menu for the Maiden’s Kiss you can compare the status ailment to the description for each item as you move the cursor over them, thus healing up in short order. A few things are confusing
