If anyone cares, [EVENT-E91C] seems to recruit the character whose text it’s attatched to (or one of them, if you stick it in a battle message).
Attatching it to a villager’s text gives a looooooong name and a bunch of glitches!
July 17, 2008 at 6:32 pm #35385Xian Zhu XuandeParticipantBecause you are recruiting a character that doesn’t actually exist in the ROM. :)
July 17, 2008 at 10:38 pm #35386DragonAtmaModeratorThus all I need is to figure out how to change townspeople — then I’ll be golden!

Is that a fixed soldier count? Or please tell me you get to use Jin Xuan the whole way?
I’d say switch the Strength and Intelligence but hey, it’s your game :)

Huo Hu's Adventure started Destiny of an Emperor hackingJuly 19, 2008 at 9:12 pm #35389DragonAtmaModeratorIt’s only fixed until Liu Fe– I mean, Jin Xuan’s body double appears. Then it rises naturally!

Also, it only seems natural to have Int higher than Str — he’s getting buffed in any case, soooo… (keep in mind that almost all the most effective rulers — Liu Bei, Cao Cao, Cao Pi, Sun Quan, Liu Biao, Yuan Shao, Liu Zhang, etc. — had a higher int than war. Sure, there were Alexander the Great, Genghis Khan, and Qin Shi Huang, but take a look at their empires post-death:
* Alexander the Great: His son is pushed aside by generals, with his famous empire split in three.
* Genghis Khan: His empire is divided into four.
Qin Shi Huang: Three years after his death, the Qin dynasty is GONE. Liu Bang and Xiang Yu fight ove rthe empire while his heirs make Emperor Xian look nonpuppetlike in comparison.
July 19, 2008 at 9:23 pm #35390Lord Yuan ShuKeymasterOh ok you’re doing that. So he has someone else’s soldier increase after that I take it.
I was going to do that with Yuan Shu and not have Yuan Feng as the ruler but I didn’t want Yuan Shu telling Yuan Shu what to do :)
I do that with Yuan Yin and Lu Fan though, who rejoin (since they are in Zhang Fei / Guan Yu’s spots)

But you’ll have to wait a bit before you’ll find out. Sorry!
July 26, 2008 at 5:30 pm #35392DragonAtmaModeratorApoparently Guan Suo The Thunderblocker actually has an entry in the general list, thus preventing me from having to hunt down a "change townspeople" code.
[fingertent] Eeeeeexcellent….
July 26, 2008 at 9:32 pm #35393Lord Yuan ShuKeymasterYea Guan Suo has some nice stats too.

LYS, should I email you a copy so you can host it here? And if so, do you want it in rom format or IPS format?

Huo Hu's Adventure started Destiny of an Emperor hackingAugust 3, 2008 at 12:49 am #35397DragonAtmaModeratorIt has been sent!
…and is bugfree, I hope…
August 3, 2008 at 12:27 pm #35398Lord Yuan ShuKeymasterGot it man.
I like the generic, faceless portraits for Wang Xiu / Gong Zhi / Wu Anguo. And of course the Jin Xuan portrait, and that weird portrait you have for Kong Rong. That was a DoaE 2 character right? I want to say Ma Liang…
One big big problem though is that Jin Xuan has 20020 soldiers. Did you intend to have that much? Because at that point in the game you will run out of food very fast. If you are trying to create an uber powerful Jin Xuan I’d shoot for the 400-700 soldier range. I have a feeling that’s what you were trying to do. That will give him a distinct advantage without making the game unplayable due to food issues :)
