I’ve been meaning to play this, but I haven’t been able to get emulators to work on my new Linux operating system. Hopefully I’ll configure this properly and I can try this new Jin Xuan mod….

Huo Hu's Adventure started Destiny of an Emperor hackingFebruary 10, 2009 at 11:50 pm #35417Lord Yuan ShuKeymasterOkay I started this up again :) Just played it for a bit through Zhang Bao.
A couple comments – I hope we can get Gong Zhi to rejoin. He needs to be hooked up more, he is Jin Xuan’s top officer! Also, I think he and the rest of the generals should have different sprites from the normal ones (song yong, song ren, etc). Maybe you already have plans for a Gong Zhi duplicate to rejoin or somethin with soldiers increasing…
More later…

Huo Hu's Adventure started Destiny of an Emperor hackingFebruary 11, 2009 at 5:01 am #35418DragonAtmaModeratorUnfortunately, this for all (well, most of) the minor force characters, so Gong Zhi will probably go the way of vanilla’s Liu Feng. Sorry. :(
February 11, 2009 at 5:09 am #35419Lord Yuan ShuKeymasterHey, I just burned all the way through Shu :)
So the big prizes of the Dong Zhuo area are Qiao Mao (Guan Ping’s spot in the cave), Zhu Jun in Wang Gui’s spot and Zhang Xiu at Chang An.
Yuan Shu area doesn’t seem changed much at all. Zhao Yun is still in for Zhao Yun. But I get to Zhou Cang and it’s a crappy Han Fu! He goes to billeting right away…
But I notice you have Kuai Yue and Kuai Liang in Jing Zhou :) They are trashy when they join but it was fun getting the mystic Yu Ji. Jia Xu is nice too….
One minor detail I noticed was that you accidentally have some later generals appearing in Liu Zhang’s Shu area. Chen Deng, Mi Zhu and someone else are roaming around as random boss battles but they have like 15000-25000!!!! Had to run from them or they killed me in one hit…
Overall I like it :) Will be interesting to see how it materializes as you get farther…
I still say Gong Zhi deserves to have better stats and level-up soldiers

Huo Hu's Adventure started Destiny of an Emperor hackingFebruary 11, 2009 at 8:50 am #35420DragonAtmaModeratorOnce again, only up to the dong zhuo area has been done. Areas after that are not playable yet >_>
Also you spouted many spoilers! :(
February 11, 2009 at 2:35 pm #35421Lord Yuan ShuKeymasterWell dude. First of all, basically nothing is different about the Dong Zhuo area besides the recruits. I didn’t see a single difference in the enemies or text, maybe Cao Cao said something different in the Yang Zhou dungeon. The only changes with the Dong Zhuo region were that everyone now has the generic Jin Xuan avatars :) So completing it I was a little disappointed and I wanted to continue to find more goodies since I was sure you probably edited some of the later allied generals (and I was right :) )
So yea considering that you haven’t changed much with the enemies, the one thing about mods that interests me is which new recruitables are in which spots. So I went through and found said characters.
Plus, you should really thank me for finding those random generals that run around in the Shu area with 15000-20000 HP. Surely you didn’t mean to stick them there, I’d imagine you have them in the ‘Wei’ area. So, this allows you to take them out now for the next version so no one has to suffer from fighting enemies with ten’s of thousands of soldiers more than we have at that point

Huo Hu's Adventure started Destiny of an Emperor hackingFebruary 11, 2009 at 4:34 pm #35422DragonAtmaModeratorActually, that part is still work-in-progress; I assigned new names to all the generals that get replaced, but haven’t perfected their stats. And, to be honest, the changes (aside form recruits, of course) don’t really pick up until Yuan Shao & Jing…
Keep in mind, however, that the last three areas will certainly be different!
TABLE OF EDITED BATTLES: (name fixes [such as Zhu Ge Liang -> Zhuge Liang] don’t count!)
Yellow Turbans: 3/6
Dong Zhuo: 1/8
Yuan Shu: 0/7 (I probably should do SOME juggling…)
Yuan Shao: 3/(7 or 8 )
Jing: 4/6
Shu: 10/11
Wu: 7/14
Wei: 7/7
Jin: 9/9
February 14, 2009 at 9:39 pm #35423DragonAtmaModeratorBehold! The Dong Zhuo area has been redone by request. Some features:
* Five of the eight battles have been redone!
* One of the Dong Zhuo’s officers has been completely replaced with a noticeably more competent one!
* The text has been improved in multiple places!
* Gratuitous shots of Diao Chan and the Qiao sisters mud wrestling!¹
Unfortunately, there are two problems:
(1) Guo Si seems to be bugged. Even if he’s moved to a different battle, he often fails to appear.
(2) A certain new general (I’m sure you can guess who when you see him in battle) has his stats much lower as an enemy than they should be.
If anyone can solve one or both of those, we will be quite grateful. I am currently emailing the latest copy to LYS.
¹ Not really, but one can dream, right?
February 14, 2009 at 10:35 pm #35424Lord Yuan ShuKeymasterlol, that’s what I like to hear. We just need it a little different to make it fun, I’m already looking forward to playing through that part again.
Yea, Guo Si / Guo Ji will not appear as the second general in the Xu Rong fight :( It would be very very rare of him.
" Not really, but one can dream, right?"
So you’re joking about emailing me the copy or something lol? Either way I’ll look for it on gmail…

February 16, 2009 at 12:03 am #35426Lord Yuan ShuKeymasterhehe ok. Well I got it from my Gmail account and the Jin Xuan mod is updated at the Rom page. Members only :huohu: I’m looking forward to playing it but I’m gonna try to burn through Phantasy Star IV quick.

Huo Hu's Adventure started Destiny of an Emperor hackingFebruary 22, 2009 at 12:15 am #35427DragonAtmaModeratorIn the mean time, I’m working on the [Lord] Yuan Shu section. Due to complaints abotu a lack of changes, the area was revamped — instead of a total lack of juggling, we now have changes to ALL of the 0 battles — including a detail that many people don’t realize….
Also my backup computer is using the "picture slideshow" screen saver, set to my hentai collection. Mwahahahaha~
February 25, 2009 at 3:39 pm #35428DragonAtmaModeratorFor those who worried thta the Jin Xuan mod is being ignored.
And as an incentive for LYS to take a break from PhS4 from time to time! :Þ
