Just a quick question about it, I likely have an outdated version yet again but I'm having 2 issues.
1) When I turn the game on and I'm in Chang'An, I'm surrounded by nothing but water.
2) Yuan Shao's area gets cut off after the first castle fight.

The messenger is usually the castle-guard looking guy (aka the red/white guard sprite that is used for Ma Yuan Yi, Xu Huang, Liang Gang, etc). I could have him celebrate the return to Chang An by having the concubine there.

Man, you sure you're playing my mod? Chang An isn't for a while. And Yuan Shao's area is where we start off in (or rather, Yuan Shao's old area).

I've been playing it and got to Chang An, but when I start the game up and leave the town I'm in water and can't move. And ah I gotcha I played the game backwards lol, I did the Ding Yuan battle first.
April 27, 2012 at 1:10 pm #42381Lord Yuan ShuKeymasterHmm, so you beat Sun Jian and friends on your route to Chang An?
And you honestly beat Ding Yuan and Lu Bu first lol? Props if you did man…
I'll have to check it out. Pretty sure you shouldn't be on the ocean (though the game might be screwed up after Chang An, because that's as far as I got – the rest of the game would be continuing off the Yuan Shu mod).

Huo Hu's Adventure started Destiny of an Emperor hackingApril 27, 2012 at 1:13 pm #42382AnonymousInactiveYea I beat Sun Jian and everybody that was with him, died a few times but that's not the point lol. But yea I went to the castle and saw those two and I'm like wtf…. I stayed in that area and just trained constantly lol. Then I go to Si Shui Gate and notice I can't go back to the castle I beat Ding Yuan in, most of my confusion is because I started ass backwards lol. But yeah it's a good thing I carry gullwings otherwise I'd be screwed lol.
April 27, 2012 at 2:43 pm #42383Lord Yuan ShuKeymasterWow, you must have leveled up good to be able to take out Ding Yuan early like that (must have had at least Ye Huo). Glad you played through though.
It also pleases me that it seems my game is not linear and there are many ways to do things lol. I guess theoretically you could go through Ding Yuan and just go forward with the Eunuch's at Luo Yang, skipping the whole Yellow Scarves feud. Wonder what kind of implications for the game that would have (besides the fact that the Tao Qian character will stay in the Xu Zhou / Xiongnu throne and the Liu Bei figure (in this case Dong Zhuo) would never ascend to the throne).
I'm going through and just got Tong Xian and am still having trouble with Sun Jian. I might have to limit those guys a bit since there are 5 of them.

Huo Hu's Adventure started Destiny of an Emperor hackingApril 27, 2012 at 3:31 pm #42384AnonymousInactiveYea I was leveling like a mad man, kept running out of provisions though lol. I stocked up on resurrects and ye huo'd Lu Bu to death then got the old man. And yea I preferred skipping because it added a much better challenge than I'm used to in Doae mods. The harder the better! But I do like the mod that's why I was curious because I'm digging it. Keep up the good work
April 27, 2012 at 5:26 pm #42385cabalpapaParticipantLYS, maybe I am doing things wrong, too, I don't know… I'm up to the Cao Cao battle on route to Chang An, but I haven't seen where/how to recruit Lu Bu yet. Was I supposed to be able to do that already? I beat Wang Zhang or whomever way up in the NE, but didn't notice any reward or such for doing so… was pretty random. By the way, I captured Han Sui after defeating the Zhang brothers the second time, so he wasn't at the battle with Wang Guo and Ma Teng, like it seems you intended him to be. What more am I missing? The Cao Cao battle seems rediculously hard…

Was I supposed to be able to do that already?Yep, you sure can. You get the Gold Key in the cave still. Then use that to get the ImplSeal at LuoYang. Some people at Luo Yang mention that Lu Bu is looking for the ImplSeal.
The caveat is that you have to skip the Ding Yuan battle until after you go to Luo Yang to beat the Eunuch's(which case you can get the ImplSeal, then return to NanCounty to defeat Ding Yuan and recruit Lu Bu).
Quote:I beat Wang Zhang or whomever way up in the NE, but didn't notice any reward or such for doing soAfter you defeat Cao Cao, you'll learn more about that. It's actually Wang Kuang. There is something neat there.
Quote:By the way, I captured Han Sui after defeating the Zhang brothers the second time, so he wasn't at the battle with Wang Guo and Ma Teng, like it seems you intended him to be.Thanks for the note, I didn't intend for him to be recruitable but I too have ran across that. Makes the battle easier at least, but yea, Han Sui will not be recruitable in the next update.
Quote:What more am I missing? The Cao Cao battle seems rediculously hard…Yea I know man. I need to edit that battle a little. I think Cao Hong is fine. Wang Kuang like I said is way too strong with the AP 120. I'll reduce that to 100 probably, and then maybe make Cao Cao not so tough (maybe no Yan Re for him).

Huo Hu's Adventure started Destiny of an Emperor hackingApril 27, 2012 at 7:06 pm #42387cabalpapaParticipantSigh, so I already missed out on Lu Bu? Now I will probably have to restart it, lol. Sigh…
April 27, 2012 at 7:54 pm #42388Lord Yuan ShuKeymasterIt's cool man. Just give me until tonight and I'll have it re-done with the new fixes, and hopefully some further progress past Chang An.
Fixes to do:
Make Han Sui un-recruitable
Make Cao Cao battle easier (take Yan Re from Cao Cao and make Wang Kuang easier
Make pre-Chang An battle vs. Sun Jian easier
Switch Lei Bo at Hu Lao Gate to someone in Dong Zhuo's army
Remove Yuan Shang battle from a random spot on the map south of Qiang/Hu Tribe
Probably some others I'm forgetting.

Huo Hu's Adventure started Destiny of an Emperor hackingApril 27, 2012 at 8:16 pm #42389cabalpapaParticipantLYS, i'm always favorable towards Zhong Yao, the imperial scholar, who stuck around even while DZ was there… would give another strategist type for the army to use)
April 27, 2012 at 8:43 pm #42390Lord Yuan ShuKeymasterHaha Zhong Yao, not a bad choice. He was always 70 loyalty for DZ in RTK and then bailed for Cao Cao right?
I'll have to get a head count on the rest of Dong Zhuo's officers to get an idea of who else I need to include.

Huo Hu's Adventure started Destiny of an Emperor hackingApril 28, 2012 at 12:28 am #42391Lord Yuan ShuKeymasterWent to make Han Sui unrecruitable after the castle battle. However, he already is set to not be recruited. I forgot that if the original character in that spot was recruitable, the replaced character will be as well even if you take off recruitable. So I guess I'll just have to make him a no-encounter. He's a little nasty to be going around in random fights in the first area anyway.

Huo Hu's Adventure started Destiny of an Emperor hackingApril 28, 2012 at 5:23 am #42392Lord Yuan ShuKeymasterOk, updated it with the aforementioned changes above. Along with some other changes, to hopefully make it more palatable. Stronger weapons, characters moved around and adjusted.
Check the first page for the link. Going to add this rom to the Destiny of an Emperor Roms page as well.
