This was created in a thread where Lud and Midknight were tinkering around with stuff around the same time the menu colors were created. Granted, there isn’t much documentation on that one either as I personally would like to know how to change colors more easily.
Damn, guess I’ll have to hunt that down sometime.
I set up some Inns. One at Mt. Dai Xian and one in the northwest hut of Hu Lao Guan. Both of them don’t have a price and when I try to do it he says I’m a cheapskate (even with 5000+ gold). So I guess I gotta keep looking for different villagers? Or maybe I’m using the wrong event? I’ll have to look at your rom to see which villagers and double check to see I’m using the right event.

It something like [INN-COST-LEVEL] that needs to be in the dialogue box for it to work properly in addition to the [EVENT-XXXX]

I set it up with the Hu Lao Guan dude in the northwest hut. 3 Gold. Then set it up with a Mt. Dai Xian guy walking around (since there is no one within a hut) and it was 460 Gold :) That’s a lot of gold that early. Oh well, better than nothing.
I’m going to see if I can advance into Cao Cao’s territory in your mod and not get rocked. I need to make better use of the tactics. Duel seems fun to use but then it can be a waste when no one dies and then I just wasted a Lu Bu turn when he’s my best attacker. And like I said before the battles go so much faster with more damage being done that it’s hard to afford that, because a wasted duel puts you behind the 8 ball as far as your soldiers vs. their’s.

Well, duel is meant to be an early-on “rocker” tactic for Lu Bu that becomes less game-breaking later on in the game. While still an option, I still wanted the game to relegate to a more strategy based game while still having the fun usage of dueling. It would just feel cheap if you dueled your way to victory through the whole game so if you REALLY want to duel someone, you better hope you come out on top, especially end-game. Its just a BIG risk.

I only ran into a few glitches:
-3 Random crashes while using the “All-Out/Charge” command
-Enemies who used raise or were raised attacking their own allies and/or healing MY team, or retained chaos effects post duel even though they were killed by the duel outcome before being raised.
– Wu Tugu retained his super high AC in random encounters after the scripted battles whereas he didn’t have it prior to those fights (Not sure if intended?)
And one that I’m not sure if I missed something or if there was a bug, but the sister you normally would’ve saved for Zhao Yun (Ji ling I think in this?) gave me the symbol but he never appeared in a scripted fight, so I ended up carrying the Ji Symbol through the entire game.
If there was anything else I probably forgot, aside from Zhang Liao having substantially lower damage throughout the entire game despite his superior stats.
But I had a lot of fun with it! I’m going to make a runthrough of the other mods you updated too! =D

Watched most of his play through, can confirm the bugs seen.
He didn’t get he all out bug until Shu or so.
Honestly dunno how I feel about Zou Ci -> NA characters. One fit better with the story / time period, the other was a cute hint as to the next mod ya should play heh.
I will note, that yet again, there is no manual.txt!
What does AGI do ?
Where are the soldier count break points for damage ?
What does the steed do ?
How does EACH of the tactics work ? What factors into success/fail ?
I have this distinct feeling I’m gonna have to go through the different forum threads & posts and figure this out for myself and write it up :(

Wholesale modifications were made in chapters 1-3 especially to make it more like I originally intended. I think they are for the better as the provide a much more expanded story line that diverges from the original which was kind of cheesy.

This is currently being checked into by MiDKnighT as it is also relevant in current the versions of HOC.

Think I forget to add the plot for this one, a lost plot line amidst all the huge modifications, but not breaking, just annoying.

This was done on purpose to level him and not make him breaking the mod and making it Rise of Zhang Liao, but he does provide some interesting tactic sets and acts as a true support throughout the entire mod.
What does AGI do ?
Where are the soldier count break points for damage ?
What does the steed do ?

AGI – determines attack order + # of attacks based on a formula (1-5 attacks based on AGI of you vs. opposing)
Steed= Auto 2x hit no matter what weapon/ AGI
Musou- Multi-hit using physical att. damage
Shock/Crossbows – 100% success auto-hit vs. all enemies (high tp cost)
Chaos- Multi-hit mislead
Terror- Multi-hit doubt
Destroy- Massive non-ele damage for melee characters
Thunder/Lightning – 100% success auto-hit vs. all enemies (high TP cost)
Haste- increases AGI for all characters + protects from enemy multi-hits
Protect – Cuts tactic damage vs. party by 1/2
Guard – Cuts physical damage vs. party by 1/2
Duel- Duel w/ 1 officer, chance of defeat, negative status, or perma-deathAll others should be self explanatory.
Army size (soldiers) Strength multiplier (x = army size)
1 to 255 –> (x / 32) + 1
256 to 2047 –> (x / 128) + 7
2048 to 8191 –> (x / 256) + 15
8192+ –> (x / 1024) + 37Break points for damage are:
10 soldiers – 4x – 1x
75 soldiers – 4x – 3x
550 soliders – 9x – 11x
1896 soldiers – 16x – 21x
5000 soldiers – 16x – 34x

8191 soldiers? multiplier is 46.99
8192 soldiers? multiplier is 45In fact, the multiplier for 10,236 soldiers is exactly the same as the multiplier for 8191 soldiers!
Fortunately, there’s a very easy answer: just change the 37 in the final formula to 39 [thus making it (x / 1024) + 39] and it’ll work perfectly.

March 6, 2014 at 2:17 am #53540unfyModeratorZWB and I had noted that, especially with DoaE mods – audio was a bit crackly. We tried for over an hour to fix it to no avail.
I’ve actually found a version of FCEU (no x!) that will play lu bu 3.0 (or seems to at least), and the audio seems stable:
