Thanks for the link i had some mod ideas but i didnt know who might be interested in talking about them with me
February 24, 2013 at 6:43 pm #45338sonic.penguinModeratorStart a thread here and keep it updated with your ideas and screenshots. Most people tend to chime in if they find you're serioud about taking their advice. The best feedback I've gotten is when people say tell me the things they HATE about a mod, graphic, or whatnot as it helps you to improve. The positives are nice as well but usually when they are very specific.

The best feedback I've gotten is when people say tell me the things they HATE about a mod, graphic, or whatnot as it helps you to improve. For example:
Rise of Lu Bu was awesome!
vs.
In Rise of Lu Bu the plethora of changes, and overall theme is quite consistent…. and the fictional story progression is in place as well. Comedy is nice.
New 'optional' routes for traveling convenience, provides a more open-ended NES style RPG experience. Great Wu stone maze and the Yellow Turban area is way different (even if a little ugly and un-natural looking).
There are times I go through and play and it seems like a Dynasty Warriors game with all the classic quotes and silly behavior from townspeople. I think there are no less than 10 townspeople talking about action figures, buying DoaE books, etc.

February 24, 2013 at 8:55 pm #45341MiDKnighTModeratorQuote:Ye one question i had is can u start a mod in any region in the mod say shu wei or wuYes but it would take a lot of editing. Another problem is that there's an event that triggers the cave by the 2nd castle (the one where you fight the final chapter 1 battle). Because of the event that area is not editable in DoaEditor so most mods start in that general area. If we looked into it further I'm sure we could figure out how to move that event.

If its in a different part of the map, that is an easy bypass. Technically, the cave is always there, its just a matter of whether or not the map tiles change to match the warp location. By experimenting with moving entrances, the cave location never really opens or closes, it's just map edit. You know how you can't enter a castle unless you both the warp AND the castle entrance on it? Same thing for the caves.

Quote:Ye one question i had is can u start a mod in any region in the mod say shu wei or wuYes, you'll have to move Luo Sang Village though, however, there are at least 2 Luo Sang villages and Luo Sang acts as a resurrection point early in the game which requires editing the Hex Code directly to fix where you revive.
This post might help

February 24, 2013 at 9:36 pm #45344AnonymousInactiveOk so i would need to move lou sang village to wei correct
February 24, 2013 at 9:38 pm #45345sonic.penguinModeratorTechnically, it's pretty much in Wei, or at least on the border between Wei/Wu as I believe Wu and Wei fought over that area quite a bit, but yeah. Unless you change the hex manually via a hex editor, your guys will resurrect in the towns original location.
February 24, 2013 at 9:38 pm #45346AnonymousInactiveTheres a castle thats right below lou yang i was thing that could be the first castle u walk to after leaving lou sang village

February 24, 2013 at 9:42 pm #45349AnonymousInactiveMy idea for the bonus section i wanted to use a cave for it but havent decided which cave can u also change the caves on the inside too
February 24, 2013 at 9:45 pm #45350sonic.penguinModeratorYeah, well Flames of Wu is my 3rd installment in terms of mods, and is a culmination of about 2 years of modding experience and code learning. I also went to school for a while to be a GFX designer so I am familiar with use of Photoshop which I use to draw portraits. DragonAtma and MiDKnighT helped me a lot in the beginning to learn the code and photoediting tricks.
Portrait designing has taken time in itself to master and has required quite a bit of playing around with. For example, here is the evolution of my Lu Bu portraits!
