Haha? he looks tired indeed, or as if he is suffering from a hangover.
October 25, 2006 at 11:41 pm #22680NiahakModeratorHey all,
Taishi Ci asked me to take a look at this game and it looks pretty neat. I’m writing a guide, and I know some Japanese, so I’m going to try and translate bits and pieces, particularly the plot.
It looks a little bit hard to actually translate the ROM (the font’s stored in a strange place and I’d want to expand the ROM, neither of which I’ve dealt with before), but I’m hoping to include enough translation to give a player some context.
If anyone has any suggestions for what they’d like to see in such a guide, or wants me to try translating any scraps of text from later in the game (take a screenshot or something) while I’m working on the guide, post here and I’ll get back to you.
Thanks.

Huo Hu's Adventure started Destiny of an Emperor hackingOctober 26, 2006 at 11:39 pm #22684Perhong_AngtongParticipantHi Niahak!
I’m very happy to know I might finally be able to actually play this game soon!

October 27, 2006 at 12:02 am #22685NiahakModeratorI wish I could hack the game, but I don’t have the skills yet and I’m not sure whether I’ll have the time. It’s getting to be the crunch time of the quarter. I’ll settle for a half-translated guide instead.
Holy crap, somebody’s reading my site? Maybe I should update it more than once a month…
I’ve posted a preliminary version of the guide here. It’s past the second plot-battle with the Yellow Turbans. Let me know if you want more or less detail (or commentary). Right now I’m planning on translating the main plot thread as well as interesting dialogue.
I’m not sure whether I’ll be able to translate tactics very well at all, as the names are very, very strange. Some items are too.
/edit: Taishi Ci brought up a good point. Don’t worry, I’m planning on updating the castle, town, and person names as soon as I can confirm them. I have a way of checking some, but it’s roundabout, so I’m going to wait a bit on doing that.
October 27, 2006 at 12:16 am #22686thechieftainParticipantNice, it’s no lordyuanshu.com, but it’s better than mine, I don’t have one.
October 31, 2006 at 4:39 am #22687NiahakModeratorGuide updated. This update covers the first actually difficult battle in the game, including a couple towns and a formatting change or two.
My Zhang Fei’s dead and from the looks of it revives cost 600. I may have to kill a lot of bandits to get enough gold to bring him back.

I?ve always wanted to play this one too.
October 31, 2006 at 1:53 pm #22689huaxiongParticipantwhere can u download this game?
October 31, 2006 at 9:07 pm #22690Taishi CiParticipantIt’s in the ROMs thread.
November 18, 2006 at 7:08 am #22691NiahakModeratorThe guide’s been updated up until the death of Zhang Jiao. I’ve also included some name fixes and stuff where I could, although I need to make sure it’s consistent.
James, in your starting guide, you call the castle Xuzhou when I’m pretty sure it’s Youzhou (the name fits better with Yusyuu and it’s also the province Luo Sang village is in in the beginning of the story).
Unfortunately I really can’t confirm any names for certain without figuring out the characters given for each city / province et cetera. I have the characters for some thanks to my TK manga, but I need to figure out how to sound them out in Chinese.

I assure you it was entirely an assumption on my part?I didn?t even try to get a translation of that one. Other Destiny of an Emperor titles had them receiving their charge from Tao Qian in Xuzhou so it didn?t strike me as much of a jump, and it all corresponds nicely with the novel. If the characters don?t match, though, you are probably correct, and after you?ve had some time to think on it I?ll update my guide. :)
Or see if I can find some other folks to harass about it.
November 21, 2006 at 1:50 am #22693NiahakModeratorGuide updated again, up until Liu Bei’s assignment to Gogen (presumably Anxi) village. This only really has two cities but I added in item and weapon listings.
