Riou and Jowy begin their story as members of the Highland Unicorn Brigade. They are ambushed as Highland frames the City-State of Jowston in this fake betrayal. Riou and Jowy fight side by side for a bit but eventually go their separate ways to carry out their destiny, of Shield vs. Sword. Those who played the first Suikoden will be more than pleased with this offering. It is rare to see such an engaging story, and there is plenty of challenge within the game. Suikoden 2 also has a bit more depth than it's predessor. The translation is still a little shoddy but quite entertaining at the same time. War battles are much more complex than the rock / paper / scissors of Suikoden I. Duels are pretty similar. The battles against Luca will have you on the edge of your seat.
