Suikoden 4 IV FAQ

Suikoden IV is an RPG for the Playstation 2 that came out on 1-11-05 in the united states. It has a sequel called Suikoden Tactics.

Suikoden IV took the Suikoden series in a new direction with ship travel acting as the world map. You'll get better as you go on but ship travel can be extremely frustrating especially near ports or land masses. Fortunately you will acquiring the Glowing Mirror to alleviate these problems.

The battle structure is back to being more like Suikoden I and Suikoden II as characters aren't paired like they were in Suikoden III. However there are only 4 characters allowed at one time which can be an annoyance. Unite attacks are learned and built up as opposed to just having them from the start.

The hero is a silent one again, named Lazlo. Your home base is a ship and you take over for the king of Obel, Lino En Kuldes. Lazlo leads the army with his Rune of Punishment, Tactician Elenor and the rest of the 108 Stars of Destiny as they take on Graham Cray, Troy and the Cray Trading Company along with the support of the Kooluk Army.

There are some characters from other Suikoden's but not many. Suikoden IV is about 150 years before any of the other Suikoden's so many of the characters aren't alive at this point. Viki and Jeane are two that are in this game and in other ones as well.
