Source : Famitsu Preorder Final Fantasy IV 4 DS for 20$-30$ After dozens of ports (okay, a few) there is finally a remade FFIV coming to the US. Final Fantasy IV DS is to arrive July 22nd 2008 after receiving stellar reviews and sales over in Japan. Final Fantasy 4 DS takes the inevitable step to 3d and pulls it off well, in a similar manner to the Final Fantasy III DS remake. For battle you have a side-by-side view for regular battles and a behind the shoulder perspective during boss fights. Classic gamers will be happy to see that not much has changed with the battle system. It is the same turn based style, and bosses are much more difficult. If you have played the harder Japanese version of FFIV for SNES, it is similar to this difficulty. One new catch in battle is that you can learn ability’s from older allies that leave the party (Decant Ability System). The Lunar Subterranean in particular was difficult with those Red and Blue Dragons using those ray attacks at unfair speeds.
