ParticipantRomance of the three kingdoms 10 and 11 are very fun. Those are my current favorites. I like playing with both of them, to add a little mix. If you like Samurai, I suggest Way of the Samurai one and two.

ParticipantPersona 3 for PS2 is ridiculously engulfing, I haven’t been able to put it down.

Participantquestions for both of you.
ricky-rotk 11, is each turn decided by action points like rotk 7?
chieftain-is persona 3 an rpg?

ModeratorI can answer both of those :P
RTK 11 is ruler-based, but still has the Action Points. I think it’s to force you to delegate fairly early on – which makes sense! Nobody can rule an empire on their own.
I have a fighting force of about 20 good officers in my district – I only run out of AP when the fighting gets particularly fierce, or I’m emphasizing development to keep a supply line.
Persona 3 is an RPG, but the combat system is fairly light and easy to learn, while still remaining strategic.
If you have a decent computer, I would recommend Mount & Blade. I don’t know quite how to describe it; it’s an Action/Strategy/RPG. It’s a medieval game with remarkably intuitive controls. You raise your own band of soldiers and take out bandits here and there, and you can join various factions in their fight. It’s a blast to play; every time I win a particularly rough fight it feels great.

ParticipantI have Rotk 7, and haven’t played it. But Niahak puts it in a easy view. If you have played Rotk IX it’s a lot like that. Except with better newer features.

ParticipantThere’s many games you could get, notably the ROTKs. But you should just look at what kind of games you’re interested in, first.

ParticipantWell… There’s mine… TNDOAE… No, more seriously, There’s the final Fantasies, but you must have them all, right? If you want another good RPG, there’s Lufia 2 on SNES.
As for new games… you might want to wait for FF13.
