ParticipantSo which do you guys prefer? 1 or 2?
Personally I thought the battles in 2 are easier, with max HP at 9999 and tactics which can easily deal 3000 to 4000+ damage. I do remember when I fought Sima Yi in 1 and he will gladly Wan-Fu himself to full health when he’s near death. His HP was about 40,000+ if I remembered correctly. Damn irritating.
I also feel that there are more puzzles in 2 and they are more difficult.
Overall I’ll think 2 is better with all the generals being able to level up, more weapons, tactics and glitches!

ParticipantI prefer DoaE2 myself, but with the editor out for DoaE1, you can make all the generals level up if you do a little work. I might just release a ROM that lets EVERYONE level up. Depends on my laziness factor :P

Yes, like going to Japan to receive a scroll is accurate……

KeymasterHehe, well he did say ‘more’ accurate. I don’t think anyone would say any DoaE follows the history well. DoaE 2 has a more logical plot though some parts (yes, like going to Japan) are a little silly.
Hmm..I think I’d say 1 for this but give me some time to form an answer with some reasoning.

ParticipantI liked 2 better than one although three looked good but I never tried it.I liked 2 because it was easier and as said before, more accurate.

ParticipantDoaE and DoaE2, I like both .
But I think DoaE2 is more interesting than DoaE because DoaE2 has a lot of trick
DoaE gave birth to Huo Hu.

Participanti do remember when doae 1 came out and i stayed up for days playing it. it was incredible!! much better than it’s predecessors at the time: final fantasy and dragon warrior.
however, after playing doae2, i like it’s following the novel a little better. it was MORE accurate than 1…

ParticipantDOAE2 for me. It’d be cool if someone can make an editor for 2.

Participantthey made wei and wu mod.’s for it, but they were in japanese. i’m working on adjusting stat.’s for doae2 pretty soon, actually. i am hoping i can give every one 255 in all attributes. i won’t know until i get all of the stat. boosting items though…
tomorrow, i should know…

ParticipantI think two was a little better, using different weapons for some chars, "more accurate", and the graphics were a bit better as well. What I didn’t like was the absense of wu, and the part at the end where you have to collect all the crap for cui zhou ping.

ParticipantI would imagine that somewhere a person has documented how to hack DoaE II in great detail. Not only has it been thoroughly hacked in Japanese, it was also translated (and that must have involved a whole hell of a lot of hacking) by Magic Destiny.

KeymasterAvailable in JPN, not in english unfortunately. You should still be able to make your way through them, and there are some crazy added bosses (Chinese Gods and such) throughout.
