KeymasterA friend of lordyuanshu.com has recently reinstated a previously-corrupted forum featuring news articles about the upcoming nintendo revolution. If you are interested in this platform and its groundbreaking new control system, head on over to http://captainangry.com/NESForum/index.php for more information. Personally, the gyro controller looks to be incredible and I think it will go a long way toward VR platforms in the future and probably cause a massive rethink in user control systems for consoles from any company.

ParticipantI went there and I even posted, amazing!

KeymasterHahaha, I literally just watched the founder set up the board a few days ago, so if you are wondering why it’s a bit lacking, that’s why. He had all the news articles as mentioned but his server corrupted all his sql data; a caveat to all to backup! I think commie should be familiar with this notion now as well

KeymasterThat friend who runs those forums was waiting to see the new name haha. Now he’s got some work to do :paranoid:

ParticipantFrankly, I don’t get the name change. I know that Nintendo tends to change the system names before launch (Ultra 64 to Nintendo 64, Dolphin to Gamecube) but Revolution just seems a lot better than Wii.

KeymasterI agree that Revolution seems better than Wii; however, I think they should at least pronounce it the Japanese way (Why-E) instead of the way they said in the article (We). It would not only make more sense, but would sound better as well in my opinion. Their explanations of the name seem stupid though, they must have something up their sleeves as far as marketing. If not then this may be one of the last systems we see from Nintendo haha, they aren’t doing so well lately aside from the handheld market, which PSP is threatening to take over… :(

ParticipantI can’t wait!!!!! It’s about time Nintendo takes back its reign! :)

ParticipantI?m looking forward to finding out the way in which they support ROMs.
Since I heard about that backward compatibility, I have been imagining playing Destiny of an Emperor 1/2 on the good old Revolution. I gave up on trying to have a working Nintendo. It seems every time I come across one, it breaks before too long, and they are also getting too expensive. :)

Doubtful. The Xbox 360 was released long before the rest so anyone who hasn’t gotten a system is most likely waiting for the PS3. There’s no doubt that this will be the best Nintendo system yet, but to think that it could compare with the 360 or PS3 is doubtful. Even with the point Xian Zhu Xuande (James?) made, people can play ROM’s on their computer so I doubt it’s enough to spark sales and interests. It’s really the only reason I’d buy the Wii, but I don’t think it’s worth it (especially since I’m a Playstation fanboy).

ParticipantRemember, it’s about the games, not the systems.
That said, recent Nintendo systems have really lacked good third-party games (exclusive ones, I mean), although they do tend to have great first-party games.

KeymasterYou’re right, it is about the games. That’s why I don’t like Nintendo’s products anymore. Quite simply, the only new games I play nowadays are Dynasty Warriors, Suikoden and/or Final Fantasy. The new Zelda game intrigues me…but isn’t there a good Gamecube Zelda coming out?

ParticipantYes, Twilight Princess is coming for Gamecube and a different Zelda will be on Wii.
I think Twilight Princess will play like a longer version of OoT, but I’m not aware of all the features. Try GameFAQS.

In my opinion, that’s something they’ve been greatly lacking. Not too many good Nintendo games anymore, which is why the ROM’s would be the only thing to persuade me, but as I said, I can play them on my computer anyway.
