ParticipantDoes any one here get into the games? The SNES version is my all time favorite game and I am playing the N64 again now. The playstation and gameboy versions are awesome as well.

ParticipantI’ve played all of them, and beaten Ogre Battle 64. All great games.
Tactics Ogre is the basis for Final Fantasy Tactics, actually, although the Japanese prefer TO over FFT.
The SNES Tactics Ogre remains untranslated. True, there’s a translated PSX release, but I’d still like to play the SNES version. This site helps: http://www.luct.tacticsogre.com/

KeymasterI have only played the PSX Ogre Battle : March of the Black Queen…must say I enjoyed it except for the fact that you can’t control who attacks who

ParticipantThe PSX version of March of the black queen is actually just a remake of the SNES version, The SNES version is way better, the AI is smarter there are no load times.
I actually prefer TO over FFT as well. Final fantasy is pretty much overated, all of them.

Participantlol, I might try this one day. If you ever want to play an awful duplication of that type of battle system, play Eternal Eyes. It’s utterly awful, with the exception of the female in the item shop.
You have to remember, though; the very thing that makes you a nerd is that your enthusiasms are totally unrelatable and non-marketable to most of the world. For example, anime and celibacy. - Seanbaby

ParticipantSo I went and googled it. The sprites look nice enough, for PSX. Can’t say I’ve ever heard of the game though.

ParticipantWell get yourself a rom and play right now, I can provide them if you need. I guarantee satisfaction.

ParticipantFor PSX? You need iso files for those, I think, not ROMs.

ParticipantNo for SNES. it’s better than the PSX version, although it’s the exact same game, there are a ton of things better about it. the PSX version is a ripoff, same graphic and everything except they added load times and stupid AI

ParticipantThree more levels on Ogre battle 64 and I can devote myself to Dark wizard, I can’t wait. Or maybe I can play it again. Oh the life choices I have to make.

ParticipantOB64 is the best of the traditional OB games. It’s a lot of fun, but not very strategic.

ParticipantIt isn’t strategic at all, but for some reason I love it. Although not as much as the SNES OB. It is still a great game. The Tactics ogre on PS and SNES is actually pretty strategic, but it is not even the same type of game.

ParticipantFor Ogre Battle 64, you just need a really strong group for blitzing to the boss and another strong group to guard your base. It’s a lot easier than the SNES Ogre Battle.
But yes, it still is a lot of fun.

ParticipantTons of fun indeed, I could play these games for the rest of my life. and in OB 64 you need at least three units, one more to liberate towns.

ParticipantWell I finished OB64 yesterday and think I want to play again, I got the crappy ending I think. I went back to the castle after the last fight and was outcast. I even had a high chaos frame, I guess. All the High CF characters joined me and I liberated towns,
