ParticipantI was just watching some playthrough videos of these games (for example, Space Quest, King’s quest, and Police quest). Brings back nice memories.

Participantwow! now you’re talking my language!! i remember when each of these first came out!!
they were quite amazing at the time.
king’s quest 3 and space quest 1 were my absolute favorites in the series. they were all very thought provoking and original.
did you ever play sierra’s phantasmagoria?

Participantphantamagoria, I tried it, I couldn’t play it for some reason, now space quest and king’s quest on the other hand, grade A

Participantphantasmagoria was phenomenal!! great game…
i love the humor in space quest…getting mugged, the zz top band, funny deaths…

ParticipantI heard phantasmagoria is very violent. But I never played it.
All of their adventure games were amazing for their time. Space quest has some really weird yet funny deaths, and I like the narrator. On youtube there are videos showing all the deaths in almost every sierra game. Laura Bow was a very nice game, the shower scene is most memorable. King’s quest was also very nice although King’s quest 5’s puzzles were damn hard to solve without a walkthru, especially that maze in the dungeon, and also you can die so many ways.

ParticipantI used to watch my older bros play them when I was a kid. There were other games I used to watch them play back in the old days, but the only ones I remember are syndicate, blue force, ultima 7 and 8, and tex murphy: under a killing moon, although these aren’t sierra games.

Participantany of you guys play quest for glory?
December 20, 2007 at 5:14 pm #31487huaxiong
ParticipantIn the king’s quest and space quest games where there is voices for the characters and narration, the narrator is such an asshole, always being sarcastic and making puns when you die.

Participanti hear ya! but, the deaths were original and pretty cool. i hafto admit that.
i just played king’s quest 6 over the summer. i heard it was the best of the series, and i hafto agree. it was a very long game, but terrific. king’s quest 3 is a close second, though. the hiding and trying to make spells in a limited period of time gave it such a great feel. having mannanan eat the porridge with the cat dough was a great moment!!
leisure suit larry was another game in the mold of the two series that my friend and i never got to play in those days. we were too young to have our parents buy it, but it looked really cool…

ParticipantKing’s Quest 6 was great. Never played 3, but I have played 1, 2, 4, 5, and 7. I’ll download it sometime and play it.
The deaths in King’s quest 6 are funny: Getting caught by the horny vines, getting stung by the spider who sounds so much like a phone sex operator, getting locked in the dungeon by the guard dogs, getting owned by Captain Saladin, and falling in river Styx. If you want, search on youtube: "Ways to die (desired game of king’s quest, space quest, etc.)
You can always download leisure suit larry off the internet. The only leisure suit larry I played was Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude. It was cool.
You haven’t answered my previous question: Have you played Quest for Glory? and also, have you played phantasmagoria 2? you can be a homosexual in that game, from what I heard.

ParticipantPolice quest is amazing as well. Tell me what you thought of the videos.
Tell me fallout also: What PC games did you used to play back in the old days besides sierra adventure games? There were some games my brothers used to play which I can’t remember. The only ones I remember are: syndicate, blue force, ultima 7 and 8, tex murphy: under a killing moon, 11th hour, wolfenstein, and quarantine.

ParticipantYeah, Wolfenstein was classic. For some reason I never liked Doom. As for the other pc games that I played when i was about 7-8: Pirates, Railroad Tycoon, Simcity, Dave, F-117 and few others. I prefered NES games to PC that time as I now prefer PS2 and PS3 games to PC.

KeymasterI prefer console also and never got into many PC games…but I did play a lot of Warlords 2 and 3 for PC. Still have them but no DOS anymore to play them – and have been too lazy to get dosbox going.
