ParticipantFun fact: when you’re at the cliff in the beginning, if you keep refusing to jump Rowd will send more soldiers. If you kill 108 or more groups of soldiers, the opening will be in color instead of monotone.
Did I do it? Yes. Was it worth it? Maybe.

KeymasterI got a few weird random crystals that are embedded onto your weapons, one being a Silence crystal and a Technique Crystal that steals potch…the latter being very valuable for me so far.
You fought 108 battles huh…impressive, but it doesnt sound worth it there.
All I know is it’s going to be damn hard to go through this game under 20 hours and do the walkthrough at the same time…I’ve been tapping down X with my toe during talking scenes so that I can write the walkthrough and not waste time…
At 4 hours and just got the circus people at Coronet…Is that good Taishi?

ParticipantHere’s the Clive’s Quest checklist:
Muse (after losing the Fort but BEFORE the exit is sealed up, check the alley east from the bar, go north from there, then try to leave): no time limit
South Window (Clive’s standing in a corner near the exit, talk to him after you have used the boat at least once and he’ll join): no time limit
Lakewest (with Clive, enter the inn and talk to the innkeeper): under 10 hours
Forest Village (with Clive, check the tree in the back, earliest you can do this is right after Two River): under 12 hours
Rockaxe (with Clive, enter the inn, you can do this while visiting Matilda, and can probably do it later during the peace treaty by using the Matilda glitch*): under 14 hours
Radat (with Clive, enter the bar, earliest is right after coming back from Matilda but before Radat is captured by Kiba): under 15 hours
Muse again (with Clive, go up to Jowstone Hill, you can only do this after you recapture Muse): no time limit
Sajah Village (with Clive, enter the town, once you finish the last strategy battle leave L’Renouille and walk northeast to find it): under 20 hours
Now, see if you can finish it AND get all 108 stars (I did it).
*This is where you go to the Muse-Matilda checkpoint and just push against the gate, it will move up/down and you can walk on by. This can be done anytime from Toto to Kuskus, and you’ll have another chance later during the peace treaty.

ModeratorI don’t think you can use the Matilda glitch after leaving Matilda, actually. If you approach the gate the guards shoo you away. I don’t remember whyI tried to go there, maybe it was during one of the games I missed the 108.
Clive’s quest is definitely possible if you get 108. I did it once, by using the Matilda glitch early on to level up the main character so I could blaze through the rest of the battles. I tried it a second time more recently but wasn’t successful. You definitely need precise timing.

ParticipantI know you can get through during the peace treaty though, I’ve done it so I could recruit Long Chan Chan in Rockaxe. The guards move closer together at some point which makes it harder to push the gate but it is possible.
It is possible to recruit Futch and Humphrey as soon as Toto if you’re willing to go fight the Harpy. It’s harder, but Humphrey’s defense is so high that you should be able to survive. I think you can also get them during the peace treaty in case you forgot to get them during Matilda.

KeymasterWell, I knew the order of things to do. Just seeing if you knew relatively how 4 hours after leaving Muse was in relation to the 20 hours….Anyway, I didn’t go to Matilda because it seems like it’d take too long. Hm…well I’m going to play all day and see where I get.
edit – i was fighting abomination in north window and i did family attack 5 times and nanami didnt participate in any of them and i almost died because of it. i hate her in this game.

ParticipantIf you don’t care about getting Futch and Humphrey, then just save before you enter Matilda, get them from the village, and then have them help your party members level up to around level ~30 or so. Then just kill everyone off. When you continue from your save, your time will be back to where it was but you get to keep your levels.
This is the only way to kill Rowd in Kyaro without Gameshark or hours of grinding in the mountains.

KeymasterYou can kill Rowd in this game?

ParticipantYou can defeat him in Kyaro, but he will just bring in more troops and you’ll be captured anyway. It’s not worth it.
Rowd disappears sometime after you fight Luca anyway.

KeymasterOkay I just did Radat in nine and a half hours…I still have Miklotov with and have to go to Muse but I wanted to make sure I got there before Kiba took it over. So I can’t go to the Jowston Hilltop now even though I’m going there with Miklotov?

ParticipantThat event won’t happen until after you recapture Muse, but there is no time limit for it. I assume you have to do all the other ones first.

KeymasterOkay well I think I’m pretty well ahead on this thing. 11:30 and I have the Jowston thing and then the town west of L’Renouille for Clive. I just finished everything in Gregminster and am going back for the battle with Luca soon.
I have a question. I chose Valeria because I like her Unite with Anita, but now I remember that I can’t get the Rokkaku ninjas until later. That isn’t too big of a deal is it?
