Participantits strange how every time an army in the novel sense a trap, thats the moment when the ensuing ambush comes.

ParticipantNot in the battle when Sun Jian died. They fought the ambush troops well enough to badly lose and get their hides out of there quickly enough.

Hm. Come again?
One of my last pages in the novel was pretty strange. I read Ma Chao was 15 and he dueled two well known officers from Li Jue. Ok, wait a minute, Li Jue’s army wants a duel two guys on one, and Ma Teng responds by sending his 15 year old son? Outrageous! – Ma Chao still wins though. I found that pretty weired.

Participantma chao was known to be a fierce warrior, even when he was young.

ParticipantMa Chao is overrated. Most of his accomplishments are due to the novel. In history he was a terrible general.

ParticipantHe was probably just a good fighter by himself but sucked as a leader. Kinda Lu Bu-ish but not as hardcore.

ParticipantI have begun to wonder, how long did Cao Cao have that tumor, and did it affect him mind, aside from having Huo Tu killed out of paranoia?

ParticipantI don’t know if you can blame him killing Hua Tuo on the tumor; earlier in his life another doctor (Ji Ping or something) really did try to kill him, so when Hua Tuo said he wanted to open up Cao Cao’s head, he was naturally against the idea.

KeymasterI was reading the Ji Ping poison drink part the other day….Cao Cao orders him to try it and then the drink hits the ground, then the ground cracks! Of course Cao Cao then tortures the guy to death.

Participantyeah, let’s crack your head open. no reason for distrust there!
sounds like a hematoma of the brain over a tumor…

ParticipantI posted that wrong. I meant that did the tumor Huo Tu tried to remove affect him in any way, and for how long did he have it? I read somewhere, simRTK I think, that he had been getting terrible headaches since Guan Du. I just wanted to know what you guys though about it.

Participantyou would crack the skull open to take off the pressure from the brain; but many things could cause that…

ParticipantI forgot fallout was a murse  , I was thinking he just had migraine and they hadn’t invented excedrin yet.

Keymasterlol a murse. shit though honestly I’d like to have those skills just for the hell of it incase something ever happened.
As for Cao Cao’s tumor, I dunno. It’s tough to equate what having a tumor would do to his decision making in certain cases but yea at the very least he couldn’t think that clearly (good thing he had good advisors for the most part).
