February 1st 2011 Conquest Mode (Chronicle) update
Map marks above:
- Keyhole represents battle stage that unlocks a new territory
- Officer / Face represents Character-exclusive story stages
- Weapon represents battle where you get weapon after finishing stage
- Special Weapon is a battle where (obviously) you get a rare weapon. Could be final weapons like DW3-DW5
- Animal is a stage where you can get new support animals
- Arrow are stages that allow you to build stats, fame and money
New information on Dynasty Warriors say Conquest Mode (formerly Chronicle Mode for those confused) will have three types of gameplay on the map to choose from.
- Historical / RotK Episodes (like the Battle of Chi Bi)
- What-If Episodes (Repelling the Three Times Visitors (Stage for Yue Ying, and three times visitors are referring to Liu Bei’s three visits to Zhuge Liang)
- Side Quest / Gaiden Episodes (Lu Meng ordered by Sun Quan travels to gain study wisdom)
In Chronicle Mode, you can change the BGM mid-stage with an in-game BGM already heard
City Facilities: Things to do in the Cities in Chronicle Mode
- Restaurants: The place to meet with characters for events, and then you can sometimes bring them to a stage nearby.
- Blacksmith: The blacksmith will forge / upgrade our weapons for a price.
- Weapon Shop: The place to buy new weapons. As to conquer more land, more weapons are available for you to buy.
- Apparently in the city there will occasionally be a Teacher / Quizmaster. He asks questions about Romance of the Three Kingdoms. If you answer the quiz correctly (4 out of 5 questions) you can get various things as a reward.
- Also sometimes there will be a Peddler in town. They might be selling support animals, or have a weapon for sale at an especially cheap rate, or have a request for you to save a character. Like the Quizmaster above, they are not always in town unlike the Blacksmith, Restaurant, etc.
Conquest Mode is gonna be awesome.
I hope they are at least reasonably close to the character’s story. The ‘What If’ sounds nice but I like the real battles characters are involved in. Point being, use the What If for Bao Sanniang and those types that don’t have enough battles (ahem, any battles lol).
World conquest sounds amazing. Really glad you deciphered the map.
This looks fun but I’m glad they added Free Mode too. Without Free Mode the new characters would have no stages to do until you unlocked them in Conquest mode.
i like it
No Free Mode THAT SUCKS!!!
I’m a huge fan of the Dynasty Warriors franchise and this conquest mode sounds amazing cant wait to pick up this game
The only thing that kinda bothers me is there will be no created characters i liked the feeling of being able to make my own history instead of already knowing the outcome of the the already default characters.
