Actually I think the file I downloaded contains both of them. I never really bothered to test out the difference, but I guess I can try it out now.
If you compare the 2, Double Axe actually deals more damage than a Thunder Axe. Thunder Axe’s strength is 235, but Double Axe is actually 240. Yeah, the 5 extra points do make a difference. Not to mention if you equip a Gauntlet, the strength becomes 140 x 2. The chance of missing both hits isn’t that high so if you missed one hit, you still do half the damage. Am I the only guy who uses Double over Thunder?
With a gauntlet, I prefer any double-hit weapon, except the Bow. Bows are trash :P

I never use generals that equip axes because their intelligence are way too low. You may have a point, Terranigma Freak.
Even with a gauntlet, I would not prefer all double hit weapons. A barrage sword, for example, are only worth 90 points. It is too weak for the Luo Yang battles.
Only Wei Yan and Zhou Cang use Axe’s I believe in regular DoaE2, although maybe the mods have characters who are more suitable for combat late in the game (that use Axe’s).

Huo Hu's Adventure started Destiny of an Emperor hackingIn the regular DOAE2, three characters equip axes. They are Wei Yan, Zhou Cang, and Liao Hua. Wei Yan is the only general worth a little consideration for the final battles (strength: 240).
Xu Huang and Pang De equip the ax in the Wei mod but only Xu Huang is worth using. In the Wu mod, three generals equip axes (Xu Sheng, Ding Feng, Zhou Tai). Only Zhou Tai may worth a slight consideration.
Pang De equips Sabers, not Axe. Dian Wei and Xu Huang uses axe. I’m talking about the Wei mod myself. I don’t use axe guys in the regular DOE.

I know, that’s why the thread tile specifically says Tiger (Thunder) axe and Double Axe on it. I disagree with Zhang Lu about Bows being thrash, since Yuyu Bow is actually stronger than a Double Axe by 12 points or something like that.

I start to wonder whether there are more than one version for the Wei mod. I downloaded the mod from the site provided by lordyuanshu.com. Dian Wei equips spears while Pang De equips axes. Meanwhile, people keep saying that Dian Wei uses axes and Pang De uses sabres.

Bows are not trash. If a potent general equips a bow, the double hit can inflict severe damage (e.g. Huang Zhong in the regular DOAE, possibly Zhang He and Guo Huai in the Wei mod).
Actually, I do believe there are 2 versions of the mod. I remember seeing 2 versions of it when I downloaded it. Can you upload your version? I would much rather have Dian Wei use spears than axe. It’s just more fitting you know.

There are two Wei mods? I know that THECHIEFTAIN got the links from someone on GameFAQs, but I believe the thread has since been deleted. Are there any major changes besides people using different weapons?

In my Wei mod, Xiahou Yuan uses spears. As I said, I download the files from the links provided by lordyuanshu.com. Terranigma, you can download lordyuanshu’s files and try it.

I didn?t imagine there would be such a big difference between them.
