I basically took the original pic, fattened em up, took off their helmet, and made them look rougher.
If anybody's good at digital art you can make me a better brigand force but it has to be 48×48 and 4 colors… Which doesn't give us much to work with :)

Huo Hu's Adventure started Destiny of an Emperor hackingI converted a lot more DOAE3 portraits. Now I officially have more portraits than I know what to do with. New ones:

I have about 150 portraits loaded into the Yuan Shao mod now but haven't assigned out the portraits yet. Every general in the game will have a unique portrait eventually.

These are example Nobunaga's Ambition portraits from the SNES MiDKnighT in case you were wondering about SNES pics. Atma probably has all of these ripped as well.
