KeymasterMade Meng You and Meng Huo with 255 AD and 244 AD respectively and wow…you can't take off more than 1 on Meng You's 255 AD even with Bei Ji.
AD is definitely one of the big weak points for regular DoaE. Even Si Ma Yi it's easy to burn through his HP with Bei Ji.

ModeratorSomeone should do some testing on (1) whether earlier weapons do reasonable damage to Sima Yi and other late game enemies and (2) whether wimps like Li Ru can still do >1 damage to Sima Yi and such with good weapons. There has to be some reason why 255 defense makes you invincible, as even if it's "block 255/256 of all damage taken" it'd still be more than 1 damage…

ModeratorI thought that number was a percentage of how much gets blocked.

ModeratorI considered that possibility, but if default damage form attacking was 512 or higher, blocking 255/256 of 512 would still leaves 2 damage inflicted.
For the record, level 43 Jiang Wei with Qing Guang (240 power) and 19990 soldiers deals 1323 damage to Cao Zhi (who has 170 defense and 132 Str.)… which, if damage was reduced by (defense/256), would mean 3938 damage to someone unarmored and 15 damage to someone with 255 armor.

KeymasterReally? I didn't think AD had anything to do with evade rate / how often it gets blocked, just defensive power.

Moderatorit is percentage. 255/256 is almost 100% defense. Technically 99.61 (rounded)
If you drop their defense to say, 10/255, you do monster hits on officers often in the 20,000+ range with endgame weapons

ModeratorI meant blocking 255/256 of the damage, not 255/256 of the hits.
Someone needs to do some game examining sometime!

ModeratorAh you mean the attack was repelled

ModeratorQuote:Ah you mean the attack was repelledThere is a percentage chance of that just like a percentage chance of critical hit.

Quote:There is a percentage chance of that just like a percentage chance of critical hit. That's cool. So it's kind of a stat like agility, one we don't see anywhere but is active passively in gameplay. Wonder if it is as simple as the stronger defensive equipment has a higher dodge %.

Wonder if it is as simple as the stronger defensive equipment has a higher dodge %.I think it's a fixed number for everybody, just like critical hits. So if you raised the value it would increase the chances of misses for everybody (good guys and enemy).

KeymasterAh ok I see now, so it's not an attributed value to defensive equipment or weapons you equip. It does seem random.

ModeratorI thought it worked like Crits as well, but changing that I think might totally break characters that were of the "fighter" type unless you changed tactic success which I believe is attributed to officer INT in a way. So it's not exactly the same unless a low STR officer had their attacks repelled more than a high STR… which is not the case to my knowledge.

ModeratorYa I see no reason to change the "attack repelled" value. I think the original value is fine.
