ParticipantAlright, so I somehow recalled myself saying I'd try this out sometime back around a year ago or so, and I managed to pick it up today. It has basically identical maps, cutscenes, and storylines as the PS3 version, only with some weapon changes, as we all know.
Erm, first thing and most significant. The lag. There's SO MUCH LAG on every corner. They tried to squish too much crap into a PS2 game, attempting to emulate what they decently accomplished on a newgen. The graphics are nice, but God, you wish they just weren't there. And beware the Chibi fire attack, where the flames will force your screen down to the state of utter lag and freeze.
Other than that, and the fact that 2 player is impossible due to the double lag, it really offers nothing more than the PS3 version, only less. So I recommend not laying your hands on this unless you're just going for the nostalgia of Zhang He's claws.

ModeratorThey keep mentioning lag, lots of lag….
So as someone with a PS2 but neither PS3 nor X360, I guess I'll pass on this.

ParticipantThe same thing also happened to me when I was playing the PC version. I thought it was video card's perfomance problem at first but even some PCs with powerful VGAs had it too. So it was the game's bug itself. They must have done it with carelessness.

KeymasterYea I'm not surprised. Lag was the predominant complaint I heard about DW6 Special. Like you say Link, it's a PS3 game that they tried to emulate on PS2 but it was not done well. Still they knew they'd suck in some copies from DW fans who didn't have a next-gen system, not to mention the diehards who wanted Sun Ce's tonfa, Zhang He's claws, etc.

KeymasterYea no Tonfa for Sun Ce in Dynasty Warriors 6, but he gets it in Dynasty Warriors 6 Special (PS2). Dynasty Warriors 6 is going to go down as one of the worst, if not the worst. It's probably between DW6 and DW2, both very limited in features (weapons, stages, musou mode, etc).
