I could’ve sworn I posted this last night, but oh well…
I found this while browsing the rh.net forums. It’s an improvement hack for FF5 similar to what James did for DoaE 2.0 (which you should submit to romhacking.net as a patch, James – if you want I can help with that), rebalancing a bunch of stuff and adding several features.
Not complete yet, but I know there’s at least one FF5 nut on this forum :)

I’ll give it a shot when I’m finished with the two of them. :)

If I had a decent emulator speedup with linux I’d probably give it a whirl but it’d take too long otherwise

I liked Samurai job, but that special move which spends money was kinda silly to me. Made no sense.

Berserker class was pretty lame with the ally just regular attacking, it’d be neat if they made something else with that. Sounds like they did something to the Mystic Knight class.

August 10, 2009 at 1:54 am #36429Lord Yuan ShuKeymasterSo the Bare class can use it :)
Now that I have Windows I may have to look at this new 'improved' FF5 when I get a minute. Should be able to burn through quick on speedup.
To be honest though, after going through it again on FFV Advance, the jobs seem balanced enough. Sure, there are some crazy good classes (Summoner for most of the game, Ninja, ), but most seem to be relevant at one point or other in the game (Berserker is the only one I never use..). The new job classes (Cannoneer, Gladiator) sound overpowered but also seem to be the only classes that enable you to compete against Omega MKII and Neo Shinryu (the two super bosses, tougher than even their optional counterparts in regular FFV).
