ParticipantHi everyone,
I’m so glad I managed to chance upon this wonderful site while looking for faqs for DoaE2. I think I first played DoaE more than 10 years ago, very excellent game I must say.
My friend and I both thought the Chi Tu Ma was non-existent :D as we couldn’t find it and during that time I suppose Internet wasn’t the IN thing yet so it was quite tough trying to ascertain that.
I’ve tried the 64 items trick on DoaE2 and gotten Sima Yi, Zhang He etc etc but with soldiers above 200,000. I guess the game sort of screwed up.
Kudos to lordyuanshu and the other members for keeping a very nice site for such a fantastic game that brings back memories.
Just a question to satisfy my curiosity, how do you guys actually find out about all the secrets? Do you all literally search every single space in the castles, citadels?

ParticipantNice to meet you Lu Xun. And yeah I think so. Or maybe they checked out the hex editor. I dunno, I’m just a member who gives suggestions from time to time or otherwise just chat in the huo hu section.

ParticipantHey Lu Xun, welcome to the forum.
With the DoaE2 64 Items Vault Trick, that is meant to get you through the game fast…since you’ll have insane soldier counts. That can be rectified by putting Sima Yi or whoever you get in billeting, then taking them back out. Boom, soldier counts are normal again :)

Hello there Lu Xun, nice to have another DoaE fan here.
I concur regarding Chi Tu Ma. Even after getting Lu Bu recruited, it was impossible to figure out where the horse is based on his directions.
Most of the stuff we’ve found has been done elsewhere at some point, though DoaE 2 information on the net is rare. The things we did end up finding can be attributed to going through the game several times with attention to detail. Not necessarily searching every square foot of the game but finding some of the secret weapons in DoaE 2 took a lot of time and play throughs (luck too).

ParticipantHi all, thanks for the replies.
I’ve downloaded the Wei Mod and tried patching it up. Gosh really took me a long time to do it as I’m a complete IT idiot. But definitely worth it with stats like Cao Cao’s. Agility 255!! Woo hoo! A pity it’s in Japanese and I don’t read a single Jap.
Guess I’ll just have to give it a miss.

ParticipantIt’s playable without reading, not as enjoyable but still playable.

ParticipantSpeaking of Japanese DOAE versions, anyone know if there were any cool differences from DOAE 1 US and Jap? Besides the Super Rebel Forces. I was looking the other day when I started going a second time through DOAE 1 in my goodset collection for an English translated Jap version, but to my dismay, no such thing :(. As for Chi Tu Ma in DOAE 1, the only thing that made him seem hard was the rocks, but all it means is when you do the directions, you don’t do them in the exact order that Lu Bu tells you, but you still do the exact amount of spaces and it works for me every time. High five!
What!? Zhuge Liang controls even the heavens?

ParticipantHello everyone, I decided to register to this GREAT site and tell you all how damn giddy with excitement I am.
I first played DOAE shortly after it was released, about 1990.
I feel in love with it. Played it non stop, couldn’t figure out how to get into Shu. I literally spent months trying to figure it out. My generals had over 5000 soldiers when i finally realized where Chi Zhou Pings(sp) house was. I can still remember that day ^^. Oh ya, this whole time I was renting the game! Spent soooo much money renting it over and over again.
Years later a friend of mine got his hand on the cartridge, ordered it from some video game mag. I (gladly) traded him FIVE SNES games(when SNES was the best system, around ’95) for the game. I still have the cartridge too.
Anyway, i have beaten the game hundreds of times. With only 3 generals, no armor, no random battles etc. Basically anything that would make it more challenging.
Finding this site has been a dream. I’ve beaten the Huo Hu mod and the Liu Zhang mod so far and loving every second of it. Still got a few more to go
Destiny of an Emperor has been, and always will be my favorite game ever!!

KeymasterNice story Rpro! Glad you’re enjoying the mods, that’s what they are there for.
I remember getting stuck for long while back when I originally played it – I could never figure out how to continue on to Wu (I think I had issues finding the Ore or blacksmith). And in general back then when I was younger I had such a hard time understanding parts of this game since the text doesn’t make sense often.
