KeymasterDragon Quest V has been around for some time now. I have a feeling Dragon Quest VI DS will take a while though. For one, it sounds like more of a remake than IV and V. And two, they're in the middle of Dragon Quest IX in Japan, and that's soon to come to USA (Spring 2010). They will probably wait until that storm blows over, I would imagine.
Anyone ever played this game? (on the great Super Famicom I believe). This is the only Dragon Quest game I really have no idea on (I haven't played DQ VIII but from hearing about it and seeing lots of screen shots I have a good idea of what the game looks / acts like.

ModeratorThere's a translated rom of it, does that count? Last i checkied I was up to the final dungeon (but haven't beaten it yet)…
IIRC it's quite similar to DW8, although there's one part where [this section censored by Song Yong].

KeymasterYea, I know there is a translated rom. I meant real releases. But yea, I kinda figured if someone had played it, it'd be through the translation.
Song Yong censored the content? Too bad, I would have liked to have heard the intricacies of the game (if you truly have played it huohu )

ModeratorI did, but I didn't want to spoil it for those who haven't. Therefore, this part will be backwards (read form the right to left and bottom to top)…

KeymasterWell that's a neat tidbit, DA. Can't you just heal up your HP in battle or the overworld? Sounds interesting though. Anything compelling you can tell us about the battle system, or something that makes this unique from the earlier Dragon Quest's??? (like with DQV you can collect monsters, etc). Not asking you to spoil the story but surely there is something on the surface worth mentioning about the game if you've played it :) huohu Either way, I am looking forward to this one.

ModeratorKeep in mind that it's been a couple years since I played it, but it's similar to DW7.
And you missed the word "maximum"… aren't you glad there's only one battle?

KeymasterHmm, you sure you aren't getting VI confused with V? Because I'm playing V and I just went through a part where I had 1 hit point (I was a slave huohu ) Maybe they had it in DQVI too though because I didn't fight a battle with 1 HP in this one…

ModeratorNo, it's definitely VI. It happens rather late in the game, though.
