If this was already said in an ancient two year topic, please direct me. Anyway, how did you guys find out about the series? Me through SoSZ Lordyuanshu and Taishi Ci were quick in the discussions held there.

I found it at a rental place waaaaay back when. I remember that one place was the only one that had a copy, and they went out of business right around the time the SNES was getting popular… made me rather sad (inasmuch as anyone that age could be sad for long). I wrote a review of it a long time ago that is still floating around somewhere…
My older brother Kip had borrowed it in like 1990…I remember watching him play at first because I didn’t play it until he was done…I specifically remember the Yuan Shu battle and the Chin castle battle in Wei.
Then I got to play…but I didn’t know to equip weapons for a bit.

I rented it from schnucks when I was like 7 or 8 and ended up taking it it back and never seeing it again(an I was got stuck at the thunder part). Then when I was 11 or so funco land started having those white page adds in gamepro mgazine, I looked and saw it for 20 bucks. I ordered it and it was on backorder so I waited about 3 months and one day it was in the mail like a lost lover. I stayedhome from school or the next two days and played it nonstop start to finish.
schnucks?? :lol: that’s funny. yes, doae took away a lot of days of my life. i kept pushing back the dates every time i rented it…
I remember running home from school (like 5-10 mins from my house) and I’d play DoaE from like 3-8 or whenever I had to go to bed.

Huo Hu's Adventure started Destiny of an Emperor hackingI only liked doae2, and how I learned about it, well…I was always a fan of Dynasty Warriors, and once I was strolling through a nes rom website and I came across a large file sized rom called "Destiny of an Emperor 2". The title sounded catchy, and the file size was larger than normal, so I gave it a try, and suddenly I run across familiar faces (3 kingdoms characters). And then after learning how to play, I got into it. Complete coincidence.
