Greetings warriors! I’m Cao Zhang, my blonde anime warrior picture is a reference to when Cao Cao said Cao Zhang had a yellow beard :’v anyways i did contact with the japanese youtuber Toutousama and got the download from a new and impressive mod! We’ve come so far with DoaE1 editing that I’m not really interested in starting over with DoaE2 editing. We can make whatever game we want pretty much with the DoaE1 engine.
Modding DoaE2 could take too much work i imagine, DoaE1 seems easier and more versatile for making good mods…Sonic Penguin is one of the examples that with some effort and time, you can do wonders with DoaEditor ?

They are probably pretty equal in difficulty if you were starting from the beginning. That said by the time I got involved with DoaE modding Destiny of an Editor already existed and Meteorstrike had already pulled out a bunch of key attributes / algorithms from the game. So I already started with a big head start.
If we had more 6502 assembly coders and Niahak was super active we could tackle a DoaE2 mod but we just don’t have enough resources to start from square 1 right now.
Perhaps on future we could try something, i’m an experient DoaE1 player but already finished all mods so far…DoaE2 mods are fun but all in japanese, it sucks a bit and in my opinion, we are better setting stats than the asian modders…they usually put everything near 255, making everyone godly and a bit unfunny

Haha if you watch the video, you will notice that the sprites, graphics and portraits are cool but stats are most everything above 230 and etc :v

- Princess Cao Zhang, daughter of Cao CaoThe crazy part about the DoaE2 stuff is back when I started this site in 2006, DoaE2 modding was already in place. A fellow by the name of Samuel came on here and gave us all sorts of tips and secrets like the Zheng Letter bug and the 64 items vault trick. But he also told us about the DoaE 2 Wei Mod and DoaE 2 Wu Mod – both I believe are in Japanese or Chinese.
Agreed that the high stats aren’t fun when everyone has them, which seems to be common with these overseas mods. But have to give credit where credit is due as these folks obviously put in a lot of time into these with the map changes, avatars, etc. Would love to have these guys show up here and chat it up and share their knowledge.
For my money I’ll still take the DoaE1 engine over DoaE2. Faster battling/walking/talking, visually looks better imo, like the music more, etc. Still love them both though.

- Princess Cao Zhang, daughter of Cao Caolol, this is the most activity we’ve had here in years! I’m loving seeing all the action here but yes of course always great to get more people interested. Though it is a niche game from 32 years ago so will take what we can get
I still need to give the Boneduke mod a good playthrough and also want to get a big organized page of all the DoaE mods to make things more accessible. Maybe someday when my kids get older I’ll have time to pick up my mods – kids are 2, 5 and 13 so will need some time haha.
Getting other music into DoaE1 would be mint – DoaE2 and RTK1 music would make the most sense but there are some good Dragon Warrior tunes that could work too. Still love the DoaE1 soundtrack though.
