Really, I can’t put my finger on it. Although there isn’t much activity on the forum, I feel more comfortable posting here than anywhere else.
It’s like, other forums just have punks that will post and it’ll just irk me so much, or people whose posts just lack any sort of value that I skip over what they say, but there’s a complete lack of that here. I mean, really, even the people who are struggling to post in English provide some fairly decent content, even if they deliver it in a way that amuses me.
Hell, one of the pivotal positive points about this forum is the only time I can remember lordyuanshu being somewhat angry at me for saying "nigger" a bit. I mean, I think I stopped posting it because he asked me nicely to stop or something, but still. I’m too used to places that are either in the "Holier than thou" or "Hey guys, the rules don’t apply to the elite members of our forums!" mentalities. LYS probably just tokes up and is it’s "It’s cool, man" I’m a punk, and I know it, so it’s just kinda surprising to actually have an admin that works like that.
Also, what little active userbase there is has good taste in games. Can’t beat a forum that was originally dedicated to Destiny of an Emperor 8)

Well, I think everyone tries their best here to have something decent to say. Even the one-shots are usually information of some kind. And it’s pretty nice that we even get people who post here even if they’re not completely fluent in English.

There’s not really anyone around for him to lord it over, and really no point in bothering anyway. And the rules here have always been pretty lax. Sure, there’s some lines you probably shouldn’t cross, but there’s not a sense of "These are the rules, follow them exactly or get banned" because it’s not like the forum’s going to fall into chaos without them. In fact, I don’t recall ever deleting a post here that wasn’t a bot’s.

Yep I don’t know about the use of the N word here. I just don’t want to get in legal trouble or hurt anyone’s feelings, anything beyond that I don’t particularly care. Like Taishi says, it’s not worth the time to police a lot of the things that other forums police. Maybe more people like structured environments but I like the medium we have here and also the people that frequent it. The obscure games like DoaE are a plus especially when we all know about them.

We don’t need 100s of posts a day, but it would be cool to have daily activity on the forums. Expanding the forums means expanding your influence!

Huo Hu's Adventure started Destiny of an Emperor hackingya seriously, there is more freedom in this site than other sites, for example, there was one site(cant remember its name) where i saw people swearing like hell, but when i post a swear word it gets deleted. and when others attack people for writing absolutely insane things, nothing happens. but when i do, even minor criticisms, i get warned. why? because i am still a newcomer.
