I keep dying on floor 18 and 19. It’s either the Phantom Mages or the Steel Gigas’.

August 18, 2007 at 5:10 pm #23722Lord Yuan ShuKeymasterive had some bad luck with the phantom mages instant death tactics. those gigas’ aren’t that bad now though with an electricity based persona

Huo Hu's Adventure started Destiny of an Emperor hackingAugust 24, 2007 at 3:55 pm #23723Lord Yuan ShuKeymasterThis is really starting to bug me. I’ve went through floors 65-72 about 10 different times and still haven’t found that random item I need for Elizabeth’s request.

September 21, 2007 at 1:38 am #23725Taishi CiParticipantI already mentioned this to a couple people, but I am currently writing out the script for this right now. So if I start to slack off on something, this is my official excuse.
September 21, 2007 at 2:28 am #23726Lord Yuan ShuKeymasterI really want to play through this game again.
What else would you be slacking off on? School?

September 21, 2007 at 2:34 am #23728Lord Yuan ShuKeymasterOh yea I forgot about that, you probably have James and Perhong on your ass about that already huh?

Didn’t even notice for months that you can get "free" (i.e. just pay money) charm or courage ups in the mall in the evenings, when you don’t go to Tartarus. I think you might miss calls from friends, but who cares about them? You don’t even miss the chance to sleep or study.
September 21, 2007 at 5:31 am #23730Lord Yuan ShuKeymasterYea I definitely went through that game feeling I could have been more efficient. Next time I go through I’m only going to Tartarus a few times a month (and abusing the night before the full moon glitch).

It has been a long time since I played this though, probably due to my laziness. I don’t remember how far I got, but it was pretty good overall. The ally AI could have been improved a lot though. For some reason your allies never try to knock down multiple enemies, and they like to use the highest-cost spells even if they aren’t necessary.
September 22, 2007 at 8:04 am #23732Lord Yuan ShuKeymasterWell they’ll knock down the rest of the enemies, you just have to change the tactic to "Knock Down" then they’ll always do it. But yeah, the AI is an annoyance and honestly is the worst at the end when they simply have too many ability’s for their own good.

Ah, is there a way to set tactics semi-permanently that you’ve found? I always forget to change the tactics every battle.
September 22, 2007 at 8:25 am #23734Taishi CiParticipantYou get the new AI styles on certain dates and can afterwards set them in battle; the problem is you have to reset them for each battle. For spells, the more expensive ones replace the cheaper ones outright so they can’t really help that.
Like LYS said, late game the AI gets a lot of skill choices and can’t really figure out the best way to do things, but that’s the nature of AI I suppose.
