ModeratorI have had the song below stuck in my head since last night, when I started this game.
Great music, detailed (but not cumbersome) plot, strategic battles – this is probably one of my top games of the generation after only a few hours, and it only looks more promising.
No relation to Radiata Stories.

KeymasterNice dude.
How I wish this came out a week later so I could finish DQVI in peace, but this game is mighty tempting to play now that I have it.

ParticipantI also just recently picked up this game based on some reviews I read in Game Informer. It's pretty neat so far, haven't had a WHOLE lot of time to play it, but it's a nice flashback to the 16-bit days. The new thing seems to be to flash back to the 8-bit era but the SNES had most of the greatest RPGs of all time!

ModeratorHaving nearly beaten this game, I think the thing that strikes me as the most unusually good things in this game is the main character. Reminds me of Suiko 3's Geddoe very much: he starts out competent and thoughtful, rather than the standard young and naive. He only grows as the game progresses – and when his plans fall through, he takes it with relative grace and continues onward.
In fact, none of the characters are annoying. They're not all as three-dimensional as Stocke, but hey – baby steps. I think this might be the first RPG I've played with no annoying characters.

ParticipantThat was part of why I was interested. They sold it as the main character is experienced and knows how to handle situations instead of being a helpless teenager and the time travel idea gives you the chance to explore a number of possibilities. It remind me a bit more of Valkyrie Profile in that sense.
