ParticipantHas anyone ever heard/played the game?
In arcade version, you can challenge other players from HK, Singapore, China, Taiwan, Japan, and maybe Korea. But I’ve never heard if they’re gonna bring it over to NA.
As for the DS version, it has a story mode and a practice mode and also you can trade and battle your friends.
Overall, it’s an awesome game and it’s a must-have for all of you DS owners.

ModeratorI saw it in Japan, and thought about buying some cards, but they were just too expensive (sure, Cheng Pu’s good in the game, but I’m not paying $11 for just one general!)… plus you have to pay to play, too. It’s like Warhammer 40k: if you have the money, it could be fun…
The DS version could be more interesting, though, especially if it has a multiplayer as nicely done as the arcade.
I think Sega’s coming out with SGST 2 arcade in Japan before too long, if they haven’t already.

ParticipantI got the DS version (in my M3, ahem. Too poor to afford the game anyway.)
So far, my best cards are Guan Yu (9 power, 8 int), Zhuge Liang (3 power, 10 int), and Zhao Yun(8 power, 8 int). But my favorite has to be Zhuge Liang because he can ambush and that is THE BEST SKILL in the game. I’ve defeated several opponents by just ambushing.

ParticipantSo… They have ‘all’ the Generals? Even ther bad ones? I’m interested in this…

ModeratorPretty close, yeah. There are loads of yellow turbans, lesser guys like Sun Qian, etc, etc.
The stats I’ve seen so far are pretty fair, actually, all things considered, but I haven’t seen a lot.
You can look up the cards here.
The listings are in order of:
Wei, Shu, Wu, Dong Zhuo, Yuan family, Other.
Yuan Shu is listed first for Yuans, unfortunately he is 1/4. Even Shao is better.
Lots of made-up characters too, such as (apparently) a daughter of Dong Zhuo.

ParticipantYep. My friend has a Zhou Yu whoses stats are 8 power and 10 int and his special skill is the fire attack. Damn him, he got mad lucky.
If you ever have cards whoses artist is Mitsuteru Yokoyama or some other artist, it’s usually a golden card, which signifies that it’s a good rare card.

ModeratorMitsuteru Yokoyama? That’s neat, since he’s the artist of the most popular Three Kingdoms manga. Thanks for that tidbit :)
How do you get new cards in the DS game?

ParticipantYou finish a battle, but the earlier you finish the battle, the better chance of getting a good rare card.
