ParticipantDuring an army battle while defending muse, the 3rd army battle I presume, Miklotov(the matilda knight who reinforced my army) died in battle. In his text box, he said that he died in battle. Subsequently, a messenger’s text box appeared stating that he is just wounded in battle. Now, who am I to believe? Miklotov who said he died in the battle? or the messenger who said he is just wounded? Thanks!!
This is my first time playing suikoden II and I’ve read quite a few faq’s but has no information regarding the matter.

ModeratorI believe the messenger is correct.
I don’t know what effect wounding has, but it’s not dying.
Also, I have another way of knowing why he can’t die.
I did have Gilbert die once in that battle. That really sucked.

ParticipantI don’t honestly remember that sort of contradiction.
You can keep playing until you can check on him. Characters can die in battle in Suikoden II, and when they are dead they are good and dead. Only storyline characters get a buy out. (But that may have been exactly what happened).

KeymasterI think it’s the dialog that throws you off. It’s not your fault, because it’s not just Miklotov, other officers even if they are not dying, say something to make it sound as if they are.
But yea trust the messenger and a character like that cannot die at that point since he’s needed for the storyline.

ParticipantDamn, now I really need to finish playing Suikoden 2. I got distracted by Warriors Orochi and such and then forgot I hadn’t finished it.
