5 = 2 > 1 > 3 > 4
Although I must say, 1 is much closer to 2 and 5 than 3 is to 1, if that makes any sense.
And 4 is FAR behind 3. 3 is a good game. I happen to like it. However, 1, 2, and 5 happen to be some of the best games I've ever played regardless of era/genre, while 3 is like a good Final Fantasy in my book.
4 sucks from what I've played of it (65%, I got the HQ ship and the general plot, all the characters just seemed dry and the story didn't tune me in, at all.) and I'll rate that at about the same level as Beyond the Beyond or Valkyrie Profile in terms of RPGs, if anyone is familiar with those two quality items. That said I can't truly give it a rating until I beat it.

5=2>3>Tactics
From what I’ve played, 5 really feels like 2 in 3D. 3 is different from them, but it has its own charm, I like to play it now and then.
Tactics obviously isn’t in the same genre, but it seemed to lack something. FF Tactics did the same genre with better gameplay.
I still need to get my hands on 1, just because I want to have Tir McDohl and Recipe #39 in 2. Also, if you are really comparing 4 to Beyond the Beyond, I’ll make sure to stay far, far away from it.
Yeah you’ll see a lot of similarities between 2 and 5. 5 has so many Sindar-related things in it.
By the way I overheard someone saying that Suikoden 1 and 2 are being re-released as a package for PSP. That upsets me very much because I don’t have the system but I really would like to have that since my 1 disc is kind of shitty and my 2 is borrowed out.
Beyond the Beyond is the shit and I need to write a guide up for it!

Yeah I still haven’t decided what to work on next. Currently I’m putting the Suikoden 5 guide into text format, almost finished with that.
And congratulations! You’re the first one. This is kind of funny because I don’t even remember putting those names in, although A Yuan Shu Groupie is a nice one I must say.

Do they have PS1 Emulators that work decent nowadays? I remember having one a few years back but the sound/video were VERY bad.

Huo Hu's Adventure started Destiny of an Emperor hackingPS1 emulators should be easy enough to find but you’ll want to try BitTorrent or something similar if you want to get any ISOs, unless you want to sift through all the Google crap.
Try Zophar’s Domain, they tend to have all the emulators.
