Hey so I started this game the other day on my sweet console SNES and am near completion! Not too many RPG’s you can say that about nowadays but that’s kind of why I like this game – it flows smoothly, great replay value cause it’s not 100 hours long, you never want to put it down (even after playing through it probably 6-7 times with this one), and it’s still challenging.
I forgot how much ass Geno kicks. Got him the Scrooge Ring as soon as I got to Land’s End where you can do that obstacle course that nets you 4 Frog Coins…had to do that like 14 times but it was worth it. Now I can spam Geno’s best spells that attack all enemies but I was still having trouble with the fuckin axem rangers…
I never really felt compelled to grind since I knew how to maximize my characters throughout the game with weapons / accessories and strategies…but those damn Axem Rangers are tough as hell. I went in there level 18 which is pretty weak for that point (Barrel Volcano). I forgot that these guys sometimes attack 3 or 4 times a turn! That’s just for one of them too…there are 5 total. They don’t really have a lot of HP either but they can kill you fast. I had to go back and get the Lazy Shells for Mario’s attack and Peach’s defense and it went a little easier this time…
