Hey guys, I missed running through all the mods on my stream. It was some really good times, I still hold out hope that some of the other games that were planned get made at some point, I’ll be first in line to broadcast them!
Just wanted to let anyone know that I still check this site from time to time, if anything gets updated you’ll be making my day for sure =)

Ya I’ve been off in real life world for a while and haven’t looked at anything DOAE in some time. I know I still have a handful of bugs to fix and another project I had been thinking about is a Youtube tutorial for DoaEditor to help new modders start off.
I know Sonic was pretty far along with the Heroes of Chaos mod which was likely going to be his best yet since it incorporates all the latest DoaE features (profiles, etc…). It would be a shame if that one didn’t make it out the door. I assume once it comes out it might spark new interest in DoaE modding.
April 3, 2016 at 2:22 pm #53735sonic.penguinModeratorLife got really busy in the last year. I have only touched the Hero of Chaos mod only once for the last year or so. Generally speaking I hit a wall considering I developed the mod up until the point of Cao Cao’s death. The mod just started getting so complex as I was trying to incorporate historical events and then trying to decide what happens after Cao Cao dies is where I stalled. Since I don’t generally have anyone to bounce ideas off of, it makes it hard to just think of something that will work from scratch. Maybe the future will hold some surprises yet…

You have such ambitious ideas for these mods! I think you’re pushing the boundaries of what we can fit on a ROM (number of officers, etc…). Perhaps scaling the mod back would help it get released sooner and keep you from running out of officers and such.
Ie…you could end it shortly after Cao Cao dies then if you get the urge later have a part 2 that follows Cao Pi’s story more.

I’ve quit streaming on Twitch, and now that I’ve hit a pre-summer slump on gaming I’ve returned to my emulators and the first thing I popped in was “Rise Of Ieyasu” god I forgot how good these mods were.
If you guys ever start doing mods again I had a thought, the upcoming spirit of sanada game on PS4 could be a ripe candidate for a DOAE mod =)

When you’re out of the game for almost 5 years and you come back and see these editing tools and the complexity of some of these games, it’s mind-blowing.

July 16, 2020 at 5:27 pm #54443ZyloWolfBaneParticipantWow, time flies. A lot has happened this year (Obviously) but since 2019 I picked up streaming again and moved to a new place, built a new PC, etc.
I’ve also ordered one of them snazzy Analogue NT units that’s supposed to come out later this year, so it dawns on me that this would be a GREAT time to load up a flashcart and play DOAE mods again, in HD! Really looking forward to that this fall, and I still continue to hold out hope the mod scene here picks up, if ever there was a good time for testing mods it’s certainly now.
Someone I was working with for testing translation patches on a bunch of games has vanished from social media, and not gonna lie I miss running through games looking for bugs!

Is it Ogre Battle March of the Black Queen, or some other version of OB?
What do you think about Kongming/The-Scholars? It’s almost been a year that it’s down, James must be really busy. I know they have a Discord channel and Discord is neat in it’s own way but it’s just not the same.

Anyone can be a leader (if you so decide).
If you want, enemy units can be mind-numbingly hard! [ally HP here is only so high because of testing]
If you want, units can be rebalanced. [again, level is high from testing]Version 0.2 (requires a header) can be found both on Gamefaqs and RHN; hopefully 0.3 will be out very soon (header will be optional). Palettes mod hasn’t been added yet but should be; I really need to contact Finnshore about it.

I played through that game a few times on Playstation actually, not realizing there was a SNES version until I saw my cousin playing it a bit later. I think the sprites and status screen looks slightly different than PSX though maybe that is mod changes.

Okay, maybe not ALL the way, but pretty deep:
* Every enemy group can is randomized, including (if you want) bosses and their escorts.
* Clones of named characters are an option, so you can face three Galfs and a Tristan in the same unit.
* Levels have a percentage multiplier, so if you want to face level 20 enemies in Sharom, you can.
* Difficulty has a percentage multiplier, so if you want to face Evil Ones in Sharom, you can.
* Unit numbers can be fully adjusted; if you want to face hundreds of enemy groups in Sharom (or only one of each enemy group in Zeteginea), you can.
* Endless units (okay, 255 of every unit) is an option, both for Shalina and for everywhere.
* Unit wisdom is a thing; Debonair’s units are fairly well-designed, while Usar has a significant chance of putting Wizards in front and Knights in back. Unit wisdom can also be tweaked, so every boss uses competent units (or every boss sticks wizards in front!)
* Large unit leaders is an option; “Dogpile the leader!” doesn’t work so well when a unit is led by a Gold Dragon.
* Any unit leader is an option; an enemy unit cna be led by a Werewolf or a Skeleton.
* You can turn on “any leader” for the player, letting you put a Gold Dragon in charge of one of your units.
* Rebalancing is an option for multiple classes. Three Chops for Evil One, lower stats for Ninja line, Amazon promotes into Dragoner, another attack for most large units…. it covers dozens of units.
* Lexar can be given a random name if you want; you cna choose between male, female, large, famous (Link, Kirby, etc.), or a surprise. Or he can stay Lexar.And more! For the past week or two I’ve been on the verge of releasing 0.3 (you can already find 0.2 on Gamefaqs and RHN).
