Hi All,
When my Yuan Shao’s Revenge 3.0 trailer was put on youtube a couple of people slammed my vid for using the 2010 Three Kingdoms footage instead of the 1994 Romance of the Three Kingdoms footage.
Have you seen both shows? What are your thoughts?
I’ve seen all of the 2010 series and parts of the 1994 series. My observations:
– The 2010 series is higher budget and looks more like a Hollywood movie
– The 1994 series is closer to the book
– The costumes in the 1994 series is supposedly more true to history (although they look cheap to me)
– The 1994 series uses traditional Mandarin and the 2010 series uses modern Mandarin. I don’t speak Chinese so no opinion on this from me. It’s all normal English in the subtitles.The thought of using the 1994 series footage was not even a consideration for me. I think it looks cheap and very bad but that’s just my opinion.
