ParticipantI thought this game was pretty sweet, tight, ballin’, etc. until I got to that horrible area with the 3 minigames you have to play 4 times each. I just quit and vowed never to play it again.
But yeah post thoughts or whatnot!
Also I thought they handled the STEREOTYPICAL GAY CHARACTER pretty well, although I really hate a few of the character designs!

Hmm..is that in Laila Belle? You should be consulting my strategy guide, these issues would never surface :)
Though I’m only a few hours past that I think…

Yeah, it’s Laila Belle.
Also I’m too lazy to get the PS2 and hook it up and play it and such, or else I’d probably play through them just to get back to the goodness.

ParticipantI really liked the battle music (hearing it over Skype with MrAllex) did you ever find it on a mp3 like format?
You have to remember, though; the very thing that makes you a nerd is that your enthusiasms are totally unrelatable and non-marketable to most of the world. For example, anime and celibacy. - Seanbaby

Yeah, at Blue Laguna. Or maybe it was in .mid format, I dunno. But yeah, the battle music is pretty nice! I really like how much it changes throughout the battle.

KeymasterI like the boss battle theme but the regular theme drives me insane. Most do in RPGs though after a certain point unless they change.
Dean is less of an issue as the game goes on and I like that cause I felt he kind of hampered the beginning with his lameness.

Yeah, at the very beginning he has no redeeming qualities whatsoever.

Keymasterhehe I’d have to look into the legalities of that. I never understood how bluelaguna could have all those soundtracks

KeymasterThis game is a lot better once you get the Monowheel and can travel the world map at blazing speeds and minus random encounters.
Plus I just began my first fight against the Veruni

KeymasterTriple Post, since I’ve been playing all day anyway…
I’m in the middle on an intense battle with Nightburn. It’s seriously been about thirty minutes already and it’s just between him and Dean. Of course I didn’t see this battle coming and wasn’t properly equipped so it’s been a back and forth matchup with me wasting my entire Mega Berry / Potion Berry supply. And of course I gave Dean the Sea Medium so he only has healing spells and can’t take advantage of Nightburn’s fire weakness.
And there’s a critical hit. Dean wins.

ModeratorBump, I’ve been thinking about this game a bit lately and feel the need to rant a bit.
It was fun while I was playing it, but it’s one of those games where once you struggle through it you realize it’s not that great. Final Fantasy XII was the same way to me. You beat the game and it’s all "congrats, you finished two dozen fetch-quests and used a bit of strategy in battles… your reward is you never have to see Vaan/Dean’s face again".
I lay this at the following doorsteps (which are really just examples).
-They didn’t bother clarifying "Johnny Appleseed" until halfway through the game, even though it wasn’t important. In fact, they used it to refer to three different people and a brand of wine before you even found out what it meant.
-The Captain apparently had no point. He was a brief Deus Ex Machina, but his character seemed to consist of "See how badass I am? Now I’m gonna go back and rest, you kids do all the work".
-The end part made no damn sense.
There was, however, one cool part in the plot. Just after Mt. Chug-chug, when you go back to the village, the reaction of the villagers is just great. "You did what? You freed the men of the village from slavery? You little bastards!", it’s even relatively well-reasoned.
