Nostalgia DS Walkthrough: Gilbert + Eddie Brown

Nostalgia starts off with a scene of the Man in Armor and some girl, who is thrown to the center to take out some weird rotating item. One of the masked men saves her, Gilbert Brown, and the two flee. You now gain control and you see you are in the Tower of Babel, and you are going down the stairs (the map opens up the more you explore of course). As you run along you’ll come across your first battle, against a Cabal Combatant. Then fight two of them as you go all the way down to the bottom and south to a new area.

As you get to the ship, it’s time for a battle against the Man in Armor. He doesn’t seem to do much damage to you at first, until he busts out Prominence and knocks Gilbert Brown down. The air ship sets sale but Gilbert Brown is cut down and falls. Watch the credits.

The scene shifts to Brown’s House, London. Mr. Evans has come to see Mrs. Brown. Evans runs in to tell Margaret that something bad has happened to Gilbert, but can’t say in front of young Eddie (blonde character). Anyway, he goes and says that Gilbert’s Airship was found in the Mediterranean Sea. No one will go search with Sky Pirates and another scary black group hunting people down.

Of course, this is when Eddie decides he wants to be an adventurer and look for his dad. First, he needs to be admitted to the Adventurer’s Association. You can now pull up the menu, where you can save your game and look through your inventory and statistics. You can see Eddie already has a Short Sword, Headgear and a Leather Coat. You can rest by talking to the butler, and then leave the London Brown Mansion.

Head to your right into London Town. Head north now and look to your left for the Adventurer’s Association at London HQ. Speak with the Clerk and she says that you need to pass the entrance exam to be an Adventurer – exterminate the Monster Rats in the sewers. Head out and check the shops in the south part of the west end here. Nothing at the weapon shop but you might want to buy a pair of Gauntlet Gloves for Eddie to equip, then head east. Clemens says the sewer is here too.

Go to the item shop in the south in this east end, then go north to see Marie say that an old rate stole something from Pad. Enter the London Sewers. If you take the west path all the way and south, you will see a red switch that shuts the sluice gate. Don’t hit it yet, just continue south for 500G. Then go up and hit the switch, and travel east to that new open area. You can see a treasure chest is in here; work your way to the east end to enter to see a boy shooting. This must be Pad. Just attack these five rats to save him. After the battle, search the book in the center to save your game and restore HP. The treasure just southwest of here is Heal Bottle x2. Save your game and continue eastward, but as you do the sluice gate will shut and a freaky monster will have you surrounded. Pad comes to your rescue. Time to battle the boss Monster Rat. Use Overdrive and Lock On to start the battle, then attack away. Use a Heal Bottle when need be. Monster Rat has about 50-60 HP. Before you leave, head all the way to the east for 500 Gold.
