Super Baseball Simulator 1000 for SNES is based on the 1990 statistics (but 1991 rosters – meaning Fred McGriff’s 1990 statistics aren’t in the game since he’s on the Padres instead of Blue Jays in 1991).

1991 Toronto Blue Jays Pitching Staff
SP ANTN (Dave Stieb). Right hander. 2.90 ERA. SPD 87, R10, L10, F10, ST32
SP BRI (Jimmy Key). Left hander. 4.18 ERA. SPD 88, R3, L16, F6, ST30
SP CRAG (Todd Stottlemyre). Right hander. 4.29 ERA. SPD 94, R3, L3, F4, ST35
SP DEAN (David Wells). Left hander. 3.12 ERA. SPD 88, R2, L8, F4, ST30
RP ERIK (Duane Ward). Left hander. 3.48 ERA. SPD 91, R3, L10, F7, ST12
Closer DNIS (Tom Henke). Right hander. 2.12 ERA. SPD 94, R6, L5, F12, ST18
Yes, I know Duane Ward is a right hander in real life, but I still think that second reliever is meant to be him (considering his 3.45 ERA in 1990 along with the 3.48 ERA in the game).
1991 Toronto Blue Jays Team Analysis : Kelly Gruber is the man in this game (ANTH). 32 home runs but it’s the 14 running that sets him apart from most other power hitters (not named Jose Canseco). Truly one of the top 3-5 hitters in the AL, maybe the entire game. REG and STNL (Devon White and Roberto Alomar) are great at the top of the lineup, as both are very fast. The rest of the lineup holds up well – not terrific but 6-8 isn’t a black hole like it is for many teams.
The pitcher is a little underwhelming though especially considering the names the Blue Jays have. Somehow Todd Stottlemyre has the best stuff on the SP staff and the highest stamina count too. Henke and Ward have some nasty stuff as relievers but could serve to have a few more stamina points.
In short, one of the best teams in the AL, but generally will have their championship door slammed by those Oakland Athletics.
