Whoa, haven’t posted here in a while. Been busy, but there are some things that must be shown.
Check it out. Destiny of an Emperor mods! This is of course the Yuan Shu mod above, created by me. Thanks to Niahak’s Destiny of an Editor, we’re able to change the name / ability’s / sprite / background avatar of all the officers in the DoaE database.
All the “good guys” from the original DoaE are switched out for Yuan Shu officers (like Yuan Yin -> Zhang Fei, Lu Fan -> Guan Yu, Liang Gang -> Zhou Cang, etc). Likewise, the Yuan Shu section is now filled with Liu Bei’s army. This is the most entertaining and challenging part of the mod. Generally this is true for all the mods as Liu Bei’s forces are stacked statistically.
Plenty of Destiny of an Emperor mods have been created. Xian Zhu Xuande at Kongming dot Net has spent a lot of time perfecting Destiny of an Emperor with DoaE 2.0. This version is meant to correct all the things that need to be corrected in the text, make the battles harder, and switch in more appropriate characters in certain areas. Also, he is working on a Cao Cao / Wei mod on the side. This is highly anticipated at the LYS.com forum.
In addition to the Yuanshu Mod, I also whipped up a Liu Zhang mod. thechieftain has also contributed with the Yellow Turban mod.
Surely there are more to come in the future.
I’m playing through the Liu Zhang mod right now, and thanks for the new mods.
Good to hear. I had fun making the Liu Zhang mod…hope you’re enjoying it. It’s really fun in the ‘Shu’ area.
I just finished the first chapter, and I was quite expecting Liu Zhang to be a little more stronger. I suddenly lost so many troops becuase Liu Yan left my party.
Well that’s the thing, Liu Zhang’s party is pretty weak. It’s not like Liu Bei with Guan Yu, Zhao Yun, Zhang Fei, etc. That’s not to say you don’t get good generals with Zhang Ren, Yan Yan, Wu Yi, etc.
Well, I guess it’s actually fit to the original history. Liu Zhang wasn’t much talented than others like Liu Bei and Yuan Shu.
Oh no, Liu Zhang was a very inept ruler. However he has some good friends with Yan Yan, Zhang Ren, Lei Tong, Wu Lan, Wu Yi, and so on. Make good use of them :)
OK, thanks for the advice. By the way, I’m Stallion Fury on the chatbox.
Ah, and sorry for double posting, but may I make an officer list for the Liu Zhang mod and give it to you so you can post it here?
Uh yea just do it and I’ll make a post for it. Thanks
Thanks so much! I’m going to get Hu Lao Guan now, only I’m still at Level 6.
Cool man, just keep me updated…
Ah, by the way, I managed to get my DoaEditor working.
Nice job Stallion Fury.
Hey, just wanted to say that I updated the links on this page since the forum links don’t work. Now you can download the Liu Zhang and Yuan Shu mods right on this page…
That’s really cool. Um, I need some help on the DoaEditor. How do you change the ROM to a NES file? And how do you change the scripts that the people speak?
hey is it possible to say mod it so you have jiang wei from the start and get lu bu, xiahou ba, tai shi ci, zhuge liang, and zhage liao early have through the entire game and they increase soldier count all in one?
Yea bro. Just use Destiny of an Editor to change whichever characters you want. For example you could put Jiang Wei + Taishi Ci in Zhang Fei + Guan Yu’s spots. Then you’d start with them and you could put the other characters where you like as well. The Destiny of an Editor program also allows you to change whether certain characters can gain soldiers at level (or have a fixed soldier count).
I see you are already on our forums, so just read up on Destiny of an Editor to learn more or ask if you have questions.
hey um i want to change how much gold and food you get from
zhang
shiping at the begging of the game to
2000
gold and 50000 food how would i go about doing this with the text editor
Would probably require hex editing of the item value. I don’t think using the Text Editor to change the line from the merchant would actually change the value of the food / gold (meaning the merchant might say that it’s 2000 gold and 50000 food but the actual value would stay the same).
um i can’t find the guantlet in DoaE2 help
Hey bro, that’s why I have a Destiny of an Emperor 2 guide. Find the Gauntlet in the cave southeast of Bei Yuan Citadel. Click the link in this comment for more on that part of DoaE II.
