Start up Dragon Quest IX, naming your character and going through the opening dialogue. The fun J-RPG action is about to begin.
The Observatory
When you gain control and Aquila leaves, head for the southeast building. 2 Gold within a jar and a Chimaera Wing in the treasure chest. The southwest has a man who will heal you. Go to the south area with the stairs going up.
Now that you are in Observatory L2, go northwest to see Aquila and Columba. They speak of Apus Major’s decision ahead. Speaking of, time to meet with him. Go to the north end of this area after you have talked to everyone (he’s the old fellow).
It is time for you to go tend to your duties yourself, says Apus Major. Also, the Crystal of Benevolessence that you acquired must be offered unto the Great World Tree Yggdrasil. As the guard near you says, go out the large door at the far south of L2, and work your way up the ensuing stairs.
Outside this area, first go northeast for a Wakerobin (wake an ally from sleep). The northwest area has a chest for 50 Gold Coins. Up to the main area with the winding stairs and grab the Phial of Holy Water on the west end. Talk to the guy in the center and go up those stairs.
As you go up top to offer the Benevolessence up to Yggdrasil, Aquila shows up behind you. He offers his faith up to you, Guardian of Angel Falls. Back to Apus Major we go. He too reaffirms that maybe we are getting close to Yggdrasil bearing fruit. It is now time to go to the Protectorate and gather more of this benevolessence, this time though without Aquila’s company. If you have yet to rest in the southwest of floor 1, may as well do so now. Otherwise, head to the Observatory L1 and go to the center to speak with the blue-haired female to descend to the Protectorate.
Angel Falls
So there we are, back in Angel Falls. Ivor and Hugo are talking about a name on the Guardian Statue. Seems it said ‘Aqui’-something but now says the name of your character. But most think it has always read your name.
In the church, a lady is praying for her husband’s ring and for you to find it and return to her. Save your game in here if you like. Erinn at the Inn is the Guardian-believer around here. She is wondering what to cook tonight and wishing for some meat. West of the Inn is the house of Mayor Litlun. He is concerned about his son Ivor. Search upstairs for an Antidote Herb. The house southwest of this has a bunch of Horse Manure to clean. Clean them all and the farmer wakes up. You then acquire a Crystal of Benevolessence for this deed.
Head on over the bridge to the east end of the village. Speak with the dog just east of that house and he takes you over to a Keepsake Ring. Inside the item shop you can find 30 Gold Coins and an Antidote Herb. The owner too mentions a ghost roaming the area at night. Outside of here is a kid who mentions that Ivor should be taught a lesson; you can then go to Ivor now and choose to teach him a lesson for a little whack. Nothing seems to happen for doing this though.Go in the well at the east end of the village for an Antidote Herb. The house in the northeast has a frustrated man because he can’t help Erinn and 30 Gold Coins upstairs to be found in a dresser.
Head to the church now that you have that Keepsake Ring and talk to the praying lady. Of course, another crystal of Benevolessence for this. It is then night time. You see Aquila in the center of town. He says not only do we watch those still alive, but also that we deal with those whose souls continue to roam the land. This is indeed related to the ‘ghost’ the villagers had mentioned. Sure enough, a strange blue figure east of the bridge. The blue figure talks strangely, but he does realize that you are a Celestial so the fact that he can see you means he’s dead. He goes on ahead but not before leaving you with another Crystal of Benevolessence. You can talk to everyone or go on ahead with Aquila back to the Observatory. As you and Aquila are about to leave, you see the Starflight Express.
Go up to Yggdrasil to offer up these Crystals of Benevolessence that you have collected. However, a big scene occurs after this, and then the Dragon Quest IX DS opening credits.
Angel Falls
Now you see, no halo over your head. So of course we get to speak to the villagers, namely Ivor and Erinn. Head back to the northeast house last, and explore the rest of the village. Go to the shop in the building just west of you, and sell off your Phial of Holy Water for a Soldier’s Sword (+6 attack from the Copper Sword).
Talk to everyone outside, including going to the Mayor’s house to overhear him yelling at Ivor. Try to leave but Hugo explains the influx of monsters after the earthquake. Back to the northeast house and the old man worries about the Inn because of the blocked mountain pass. Then talk to Erinn to turn in for the night after dinner.
The next day, Ivor is at the door to wake you up. Agree to go with him and open up the pass. The villagers now give you all kinds of hints about battle. Leave when you are ready.
World Map
You should be able to make quick work of these enemies if you bought that Soldier’s Sword. Having an ally to do extra damage helps, and you will only fight 2 enemies at a time. At night some different enemies might come out, like Sacksquashes and Dracky’s (Dracky’s seem more potent compared to others around here).
The Mountain Pass
The mountain pass is quite a ways east (slightly north as you go east). Seems there is a strange train here that you may recognize. Antidote Herb if you take the east route, and then go west where Ivor went. Once you get past the Stornway sign, you know you are close. Turns out the landslide is crumbling and some Stornway soldiers are helping (sentby the King of Stornway). They say the landslide will be cleared soon enough but also that in the meantime they want you to look for a Patty who supposedly went towards Angel Falls.
Angel Falls
Back to Angel Falls we go, to visit the Inn and Erinn. Then, to Mayor Litlun’s house after this to let him know. Erinn overhears the conversation about Patty and gets worried. Buy whatever else you can afford (defensive equipment, but no shield because you will get one ahead).
World Map
Head on over to the southeast this time. There is a circle on the map in this area, it is The Hexagon. Enter it.
The Hexagon
Poison near you so go straight north to enter. Straight north more to read an inscription about beast-related deaths being the cause of this being shut down. ‘Talk’ to the ghost and then follow it to the statue; the statue has a button on the back. Now you can continue on through the northeast route. The east route leads to a Leather Shield. Back to the staircases and take the left one for a Gold Ring. Up to the top and take the stairs down to The Hexagon – B2.
Go to the far south for 210 Gold Coins. To the northwest you will find a winding path and a Feather Fan. It is weaker than the Soldier’s Sword though (by 4 attack points). To the northeast, for stairs going up to the Hexagon – B1 floor.
Follow the path counterclockwise all the way until you reach a Gleeban groat. Take the northeast door when you are ready now. Take the northwest path quick for a Seed of Deftness. Follow along but rest up before you speak with the downed lady with blue hair. Help her up, but a Hexagoon appears. It has a regular attack for 6-8 damage and Rubble for about the same damage. So long as you saved some of your MP or have Medical Herbs, you should be fine here. Just heal when you are low; this enemy looks a lot harder than it is. Your reward is a Magic Beast Hide. Afterwards, you head out with this blue-haired lady, who is indeed the Patty that you are looking for. Back to Angel Falls we go.
Angel Falls
Upon entry to Angel Falls, go to the Inn to advance the story with Patty and Erinn catching up. Patty tells Erinn she should be using her talents at the Inn in Stornway. Erinn is reluctant to leave however. Go to Erinn and the Old Man’s house to see Edwinn. Well, his ghost at least. But then that ball of light comes in and hits you; it is Stella, stunning skipper of the sky-soaring Starflight Express. Talk to her a bit and she comes with, and allows the Battle Records screen to be accessed.
You regain control and can talk to Edwinn, as he wonders if what he buried behind the Inn is the cause of his troubles. Go over to that area and search the bush for a shiny gold trophy. Awarded to Edwinn by HRH King Schott for Inncredible Achievements in Inntertainment. Go take this to Edwinn and then Erinn. She then decides to go to Stornway, and Edwinn is at peace. A few days later, the landslide is cleared and the mountain pass is open again. Time for Erinn to travel to Stornway to meet her new destiny, and for our hero to head to the Starflight Express.
Talk to Questelle in front of the church to learn about Quests, and then you can accept her quest. 001 One Good Turn: Questelle wants a Tangleweb. You can find one of these when exploring the Mountain Pass; you will see a spider web that you can walk on and there will be a shining area there where you can pick up the Tangleweb. Giving her the Tangleweb nets you a sleeping hibiscus.
Mountain Pass
Now, to the Mountain Pass and then that Starflight Express just as you enter. Stella sets it for takeoff to The Observatory. Alas, it will not work, evidently because there is not a Celestrial inside. Time to head to Stornway instead to gather some Benevolessence. It is not much further down the Mountain Pass until you are back on the World Map in an area near Stornway.
Stornway
Stornway is just to the east. Some new enemies within, but you should be more than capable of handling them (some of which you have already seen). Plus, you have likely acquired 7 or more ability points and if you used them on your Sword Abilities, you will then have +10 with a sword (making the Soldier’s Sword even better).
In Stornway, enter for a scene with Patty, Erinn and Ginny. Ginny is finally convinced after that Inncredible award is pulled out. Then talk to them and agree to do what you can to help them out. Outside, check the well just west of the Inn for a pair of Linen Gloves (+5 deftness). Enter the nearby stairs to learn from a man that red chests can only be opened by the hero of the world they’re in (blue chests can be opened by anyone). So grab those chests (Lambswool + Medicinal Herb). 2 gold coins in a barrel just north of these. Outside again and go to the northwest to find a treasure chest in the grass, with a Mini Medal inside. Talking to the villagers you hear a lot about the Wight Knight and how he is terrorizing the village.
Now explore the part of town that is northeast of those bridges. The church has a lady who wants you to egg her on with an air punch. 002 Pleased as Punch quest accepted from Ricki. She explains how to set your party tricks (hold b to start them). Your reward is a new Party Trick, a pirouette. Back outside the church, go down the stairs and break the barrel for a Medicinal Herb. To the Armor Shop just west of the church. I didn’t bother to buy body armor at Angel Falls so the Chain Mail was a big help here. The weapon shop does have the Rapier at 480 gold (+6 attack from the Soldier’s Sword). Two treasures here too; Antidote Herb and a Seed of Strength. The purple dog in the northeast corner of the village is facing a flashing light on the ground. Search that area for a Mini Medal.
Leave town and fight around a bit. Return and go to the Inn, and things should have settled down. You can now create a party to your liking (for now I just used the default classes; Martial Artist, Mage, Priest). Patty then shows her appreciation for you helping her before by teaching you how to Egg On fellow party members to boost their tension. All of these new allies start at level 1 with obsolete weapons / armor. Obviously it is expensive to outfit them right now but you may wish to build their levels for a bit anyway.
Now that we have allies, go towards the Stornway Castle (during the day time). Talk to the right guard and tell him you are responding to the Wight Knight request. Enter the castle and it is time to explore. Go to the north part of Stornway Castle – 1F and search the cabinets for a Leather Hat and a pair of Cotton Gloves. This is Queen Schott’s room. Take the stairs going down in the northwest to find a room with two treasures; one locked and a Mini Medal. The northeast has some jars with 5 Gold coins within, and a northeast exit to the courtyard for a well. The guy down here is Hamish, and he sees a crevice. He wants to look in further and needs a Slimedrop. 007 Curious Crevice request is t o find one of these slimedrops and return to Hamish. Your only option now is to fight she-slimes over and over for one; I got one reasonably soon. Regular slimes won’t yield the slimedrop (other slimes you fight later will though). But, it’s best to just do now as fighting up around town is good for your new characters. Your reward for this slimedrop? A Seed of Strength. But the poor guy still can’t get through the hole.
Back into the castle, and to the center area of 1F. Search the pots for 4 Gold Coins. West of here for a room with an old man wishing to remove some Ink. He needs Magic Water. 008 Don’t Cry Over Spilt Ink now accepted. You’ll find some Magic Water at some point but likely you don’t have it now and won’t for some time (you may either find it or buy it much later on). Take the northwest staircause up to Stornway L2. A soldier, Angus, is here, and he needs a Medicinal Herb, Antidotal Herb and a Moonwort Bulb as soon as possible. 005 Herb’list mission request accepted. You probably have all of these besides the Moonwort Bulb. Back to the first floor and take the southwest staircase going down. Enter the stairs in the middle going up. Go south to the outside area to find some miniscule gold coins and northeast to a door. Nothing here though so head to King Schott at the north end of 2F. He is with Simona. Turns out that the Wight Knight has requested that Simona be delivered to him at Loch Storn by a certain time. You can go north and up the stairs to 3F. But this just leads to the 3F balcony and then a locked door.
Back to town and into the church. The lady has a second quest: 003 We Like to Party. She wants to be egged on by another party trick. You are to do a pirouette, clap, jump and an air punch in a row. Set this as B + down, so that all four are done at once. Ricki will then acknowledge you for your skills, then she teaches you a new party trick; to pray. Quest 003 complete.
Head outside of town and take the east route along the northern mountains. You will find a path that leads up to that higher ground just on this east end. Travel straight north of Stornway to find the land of Zere.
Zere
New area with new monsters. Still, now that you have three allies you should be in great shape. Take the northwest path through the cornfields and up the stairs to enter a ‘new’ area. There are cows around, but enemies too. Further to the northwest and look for that marker on the map; this is the town of Zere.
Enter the Inn to rest. Interesting characters in one of the rooms; you can also see a treasure but you can’t get to it. You can try to open the back door of the Inn, but it is locked. Enter the well and you will find a Medicinal Herb and about 12 gold coins. Go across the bridge and into this hole in the land. You meet a lady and you should agree to help her out. She just wants to be cheered on. Of course, your reward is a new party trick; to cheer people on.
To the item shop on the west end of town. Be sure to purchase a Moonwort Bulb; it is likely you still need one of these for the 005 Herb’list mission request. The church has a pair of Leather Shoes and the house in the northeast should have a Medicinal Herb. Rest up at this point and prepare to go back southeast.
Loch Storn
There should be a marker just north of where you entered the Zere area. This is why you want to go to meet the Wight Knight. He won’t show up until night-fall. Not too tough of a battle though. Maybe the hardest part to work around is the fact that Wight Knight has a high agility, but so long as you don’t let your HP get too low you should be fine. Wight Knight can also cast heal on himself but you can more than make up that damage in one round. Your reward is a bit of EXP, 200 gold coins and a set of Iron Gauntlets.
Afterwards, the Wight Knight mentions her name as Mona. Turns out this is a case of mistaken identity. Mona is the princess of the Wight Knight’s homeland, in Brigadoom. The Wight Knight seems to have some understanding and says to tell those at Stornway that he won’t be going around the castle again. Time to return to Stornway.
Stornway Castle
Not a long journey back. Now that you for sure have a Moonwort Bulb (to go with a Medicinal Herb and Antidote Herb) then you can finish that quest. It was the soldier in the castle who asked it. His name is Angus on the second floor (take the northwest staircase going up on 1F). After dropping off the Medicinal Herb, Antidote Herb and Moonwort Bulb, 005 Herb’list is now a complete quest. Your reward is a Gleeban groat.
Just as you return to the throne area, Princess Simona is about to answer Wight’s demands. Speak with the King when the commotion settles. The king doesn’t seem to believe that the Wight Knight is telling the truth. As you leave, Princess Simona requests a chat. Go out the 2F balcony to the south, and then go northeast to the princess’ quarters. Evidently, she has heard of the town of Brigadoom. She also mentions Zere (which if you’ve been to, you may have heard about Brigadoom too).
Zere
If this is your first time here, scroll up a bit for the full analysis of town. If you’ve already been here, just go to the house at the west as you enter. This lady says Alanna and Petra will be together. So head all the way northeast to that far house to see them. Ask Alanna about Princess Simona and they sing the Right Knight ditty. Seems Brigadoom might be to the north.
As you leave the village, someone cries for help. The Wight Knight has returned to confront this man, who mentions that he is the slave of some witch in the forest. You then talk to Wight Knight to relay him the information about the ‘Right Knight’ song and Brigadoom being to the north.
Doomingale Forest
You may have stumbled upon this if you explored the region previously; it is in the far northwest. Tougher enemies within but again, nothing you should not be able to handle at this point. Zere has defensive gear to help and Stornway has a bit more to choose from (and weapons). Avoid the poisonous swamp as best as you can (you actually don’t have to travel straight north through it, though the damage is negligible. You could travel east and north to wrap around). The black smoke in the center of the area is where you need to be, obviously.
Brigadoom Ruins
Wight Knight wonders if these are the ruins of Brigadoom, and then considers his beloved Mona. Start off by working your way southwest and then follow that path north to a door. Within, a Chimaera Wing. Back to the central area. If you try to go north up the stairs and through the red door, you will find it’s locked. To the southeast is a staircase that leads to nothing but enemies (and some jars that have cowpie). So, head north and west when you can for that Gleeban Groat treasure. Continue northeast to see a nice grave, that of the great alchemist Neachdainn. Nearby pot has a Medicinal Herb. Then take that east tower. At the top, a Trailblazing Bandana. At this point, just go down to the center area and take the staircase going down in the northwest area (or as northwest as you can get for now).
Can’t do anything but go north for a while here in Brigadoom B1, then circle around east and south. You can look at the Black Knight statue if you’d like. Travel south a bit and then east when you can, for a long route that winds south and back west to a room with treasures. Take the pair of Clogs and the Mini Medal. Also an Evac-U-Bell and Gleeban Groat in the pots to the west. Back to where you initially took this east route and continue for south. A library in the southwest with a note behind a shelf and some books to read. A Belle Cap treasure in the south cell, and further east for a Medicinal Herb in the cell. Back north and west for the staircase going up to 1F.
South for a jar (Resurrock). Nothing else above besides miniscule items and poison. Just go upstairs once more. You can go south to unlock that red door to make traveling through here faster. Head north then and east all the way if you want some small amounts of gold from the jars. Take the far north exit down the stairs. Down the stairs again for a notebook to read on the table and a Gold Bracer in the treasure chest. Rest up before you head in the throne room above, just in case.
Ahead is the Black Knight and Morag. Use Buff and Sap at the beginning to make your defense higher / her’s lower. Her physical attack isn’t particularly strong but she does like to try charming you. After you do a few hundred damage points she’ll become enraged and start using her more dangerous moves like Crack and HP Hoover. Defeating her will net you around 400 EXP, 360 gold coins and a pair of High Heels. Morag is no more and then you’ll see Princess Mona. Or, Princess Simona. Wight Knight is now at peace.
Stornway Castle
Make your way back to Stornway Castle, either by foot or Chimaera Wing. King Schott thanks you for your work. He allows you access to the treasure area behind the throne, and then says that a checkpoint to the east is now open if you wish to continue your adventure that way. First thing to do is go up those stairs behind the throne and then to the east building. Five treasures; iron nails, 1000 gold, phial of Aggressence, an Angel Bell and a Gold Rosary.
As you leave the Castle, Stella comes out to summarize the events and say that we should go back to the Starflight Express. Before that, head to the Inn. You can now use the Alchemy Pot aka Krak Pot. It gives you the Alchenomicon to access from the Battle Records menu.
You may have noticed a man along the way (just west of the sign in town) with a blue bubble. After you have talked to the Krak Pot, you can accept Bill’s quest. The mission request is; 004 Pick Me Up a Panacea. You then learn a recipe for making a panacea. Turns out we will need a Moonwort Bulb, Special Medicine and Superior Medicine. Easy to make, you just need Medicinal Herbs to get the latter two. Once you get all three, combine them to acquire the Panacea. Return to Bill just outside the Inn to complete the quest 004 Pick Me Up a Panacea. Your reward is a Gleeban guinea. He also shows you a book called On-Trend Accessories You Can Alchemise at Home. You now have a recipe for a Strength Ring, Slime Earrings, Bow Tie, Agility Ring, Prayer Ring and a Life Ring.
Also a good time to check in with that knight in the castle, Angus (northwest end, floor 2). He has another quest, he wants some of that water at Angel Falls. The quest begins, 006 Get Well Water. Simply use a Chimaera Wing to Angel Falls and talk to the purple-robed man in between the bridges in the center. He wants to dilute it and then he could just give you some Angel’s Tears for free.
The Mountain Pass
Go to the Mountain Pass and find that Starflight Express. Turns out some of the work we’ve done to help the knight has return some of the hero’s Celestrian powers. But we still need to acquire more power it seems.
Go to Stornway once more and go east (not southeast but northeast. Southeast leads to nothing). You will reach the Western Stornway Checkpoint. As the merchant here says, there are newer, tougher enemies ahead.
Coffinwell
To the north is Coffinwell. You won’t hear too many positive things when you enter. What you will want to do is check out the weapon / armor shop. Quality stuff but expensive. Still, better than what you’ve had access to (at Stornway) so spend what you can to upgrade. I generally prioritize weapons especially earlier on when your risk of death is low.
Enter the Inn to rest and go up to the second level. You’ll learn that the recent earthquake caused a previous disease in the village to run rampant. Can’t get to the treasure in the north unfortunately, door is locked. Up further and you come out right in front of the Mayor’s house. You’ll find Mayor Laria on the 2nd floor in the library area. Seems a contagious disease from over a century ago has resurfaced and he wants you to see how Phlegming’s progress with translating the material. Head to the west to see Phlegming’s house. Check the bookshelf to learn some recipes; Tracksuit Top, Tussler’s Top, Tussler’s Trousers, Finessence and Tracky Bottoms. Nearby is Catarrhina sleeping on a bed. Talk to her to get her up and she’ll go with you to see her husband Phlegming. Explore a bit more before following. The eastern house has some recipes upstairs; Snakeskin Whip, Serpentine Whip, Cobra Fan, Large-Scale Armour and a Sidewinder.
Catarrhina is in the lower area so go south a bit and wrap east and north to get there. You will meet Dr. Phlegming. Read the books on his bookshelf. You will learn these recipes: Lunaria, Magic Water, Mystifying Mixture, Aggressence, Hephaestus’ Flame , Feline Fan, Catty Shield, Kitty Shield, and Cat Ears. One of the bookshelves even has a note about a new party trick, Provoke. Naturally, you see where you fit in here. Go back to the Mayor and tell him that you’ll explore it. You then acquire the Quarantomb Key. Now get to Doctor Four-Eyes and then you can go.
It’s an easy shot west to the next screen, and then north quite a ways to Quarantomb, our destination.
Quarantomb
The door is open thanks to the earthquake. Just head on in but be wary of the upcoming monsters. The EarthenWarrior’s have an annoying Fire Breath attack for ~10 damage to all. More tedious than anything else. Enemies are also hard to avoid in the narrow corridors here. Another thing to keep an eye on are the Metal Slimes. Any Dragon Quest / Warrior vet knows these guys yield tons of EXP but flee quickly. Best of luck in defeating them but the reward is high (but can compromise the difficulty big-time).
First, head to the southeast for some Slipweed. Go north a bit from here to find a Mini Medal. Make your way to the northeast corner now. A Seed of Skill is along the way. You see a mysterious blue glow from the northwest statue, so press the button you see upon examing. Now head to the northeast and you see the statue with a red glow. Push that button and the two lights go all the way to the beginning where those two locked doors are. Those doors now open, so return down there. Heal up before entering (if you’re really low on MP, might as well head back to rest first. The following battle is a long one and you will run out of MP otherwise).
You’ll see the jar has been open. The contagion has left this sealed jar, and appears shortly after. You do get one last chance to heal so do so if you haven’t, then encounter the enemy. Biggest thing to worry about with The Ragin’ Contagion is that it is the first boss to attack twice per round. Might be good to use Accelerate to ensure your party members attack first. The Ragin Contagion has regular attacks for ~ 20 damage points. Though again, he attacks twice and is liable to decrease your defense as well. He can also decrease your agility so that’s even more reason to keep Accelerate in mind. The Ragin Contagion has close to 2300 hit points, so this battle will take a long time. You’re probably lucky to average 100 damage points on him a round considering the turns wasted healing and casting accelerate, awaken, etc. When you do win you’ll get ~550-600 EXP, 600 gold coins and a clump of Royal Soil.
Doctor Phlegming seals it away and then goes off to explore. You can follow him to find out this is actually the tomb of some king from long ago (consequently you see a ghost to the left of him that looks an awful lot like a king sprite).
Coffinwell
Return to Coffinwell a hero (though most credit the Doctor). Rest up, then talk to the Mayor. He suggests telling Catarrhina. Go to the northwest house to find something unsightly. Speak with Mayor Laria when you regain control, then rest until evening. Mayor Laria again forgets why you are here to talk to him, but does give you a Feather Headband. Wow.
Head out to the entrance of town to see some ghosts. Talk to them and then go north to the Laboratory. The secret knock gets Dr. Phlegming to come out. He then joins you as you go around town talking to the formerly-afflicted villagers. The Inn, the house on the east end of village and a western house are the houses you need to go to I believe. Then, Phlegming has seen enough and it is time to return to the lab. Phlegming is back to work and Catarrhina is at peace. You then automatically go to rest after this.
Turns out people are happy now and benevolessence is about. Time to return to the Mountain Pass, says Stella.
The Mountain Pass
Might as well use a Chimaera Wing to Angel Falls and walk east to make this backtracking faster. The Starflight Express seems to have a bit more luster but as you get near, a strange blue-clad lady appears and disappears. It is finally ready to take off, when you are ready (and you might as well go now, there is nothing you’ll miss forever).
The Observatory
The Starflight Express will make it to the Observatory despite the thunderous storm. Hey look, Apus Major. You are greeted upon your arrival. Time to catch up on the events in the Protectorate. After speaking it is time to visit World Tree Yggdrasil to give thanks for returning. Go up and offer up a prayer. You fall into a deep sleep and experience a strange dream.
You are still lacking wings and a halo. However a voice directs you where to go and teaches you the Zoom spell. Also known as Return in the older Dragon Warrior’s, you can go to any town that you have previously visited. More scenes and the situation in front of you has become more focused; time to find the fallen fygg fruits in the Protectorate. There are seven fyggs in total.
Before leaving, speak to Columba on the far west end of 1F by the grave. She mentions that Aquila descended to the Protectorate to search for you, but still has not returned. Back to L4 of the Observatory, which is where the Starflight Express is. Time to get back to the Protectorate.

Ive got a minstrel lv 37, 2 warriors lv 37, and a mage lv 36.He still kills me though but my hero the minstrel has a Dragon slayer,a dark shield,a mythril helm,a suit of dragon mail, light gauntlets,Transparent tights,Dragon warrior boots, and a spirit bracer. So work on your gear my friend.
i ment king godwyn, soz
what level did you guys kill him at cuz that might be my problemo
Kay For me it just took luck, and 3 trys lol If I Can remember my guys where at maby lv 40 maby lv 38? I dont know its been awhile im finished the game but there is more to it. My guys at lv53. also I found a great way to train low leveled Guys, if you made it to swibealis (Whatev’a) acadamy. Go find some shivvery shrubberys, if your lukky thele keep calling each other up. I made it to the letter O and got 10800-EXP ( This is just as good as metal medelys) I will update if I get a Higher letter.
I was in the low 40’s fighting King Godwyn, I saved most of my mp for the second form of him, and unleashed hell and killed him fast.
I had a sages elixir in my mage’s inventory so after the mp of my priest was maxed out, I used the sage’s elixer on her so she could keep healing.
In your case, your sage would need the sage’s elixir to keep ealing after maxed out I guess.
hi i cnt seem to beat corvus [phase2] he can kill my whole team with just one spell by unleashing something ,all my chars are 33-38
oh yeah my chars 2 lvl 36 pally’s 1 priest lvl 38 and ranger lvl 33 with the attack power the same as my main pally
He Is the Final Boss Go To where there are metel slimes are (Liquid slimes, metel medelys), Try using metal slash sometimes does 2 damage, much quicker. I Defeated corvus at lv 51 so you might want to level up your guys fast, Try just takeing your guy out alone somewhere and battle some shivvery shruberies (make sure you have somthing that can heal you) or anything that calls somthing else up. Right now Im Taking my guy all alone In different vocations and leveling Him up. my Guy Is lv62 as minstel but ya, try taking One guy with you or go alone and do some leveling up, This can also help anyone else reading. Im Coming up with all sorts of leveling up short cuts (My best Is The Cureslime Slaughter)=”Go to gittenham palace and fight a lental (red) aurmor, make sure you fight two, wait for them to call up some cureslimes, make sure you only kill the cureslimes, Once your bored or you think you are done you will get most likly 13k (Depends on how far you go)”
(-METAL PRESSURE-) Exp. short cuts
Have a Warrior, priest or a palidin with a pressure pointer spear ability, This ability has a chance to kill a monster instatly (Like a assasins dagger(That can also be Used)) go find a metal slime (Liquid metal slime works best, they give out 4k(This Is how I leveled up my palidin to lv 40 from lv 22) And use Pressure pointer lots, if your lucky, you will kill it right of the bat (This is much faster that just plain killing it)
(-BOSSENTALIST-)Boss Exp.
Make sure you are a armamentalist. Go fight a boss (Like Courvus, who can be battleed over and over) make sure you get to use your COUPE Da GraCE+ so you can Improve how much exp. you get
defeated Corvus at level 43. Beat that!
Hey Miguel. You sound a bit under-leveled, might want to spend some time at the Bowhole farming Liquid Metal Slimes (lower levels). Second form of Corvus is hard though…

Dragon Quest IX DS final Godwyn + Corvus Walkthrough
Ah, it is fun to farm the Metal Slimes, but I find they are more annoying to do than the other Metal-types you find later on (they seem to spawn less often).
did you know i like pie dragon quest
I saw a UFO today and i was creeped did you know they are real?
What’s the recipe for a Girdirk’s blade? Anyone? Or where do you get it?
How do you get the @#!$% grass from the village in Iluugazar Plains?!?
Dear CrazedFan: Right first off go to the north of the Hunters place in Iluugazar Plains and cross the bridge then go right until you reach a poison filled swamp type place there should be a cave towards the north go inside and there will be the village of Gerzuun. In there travel towards the top of the cave. go through at the top to reach all the dead villagers and the go down the stairs and the grass will be there. Note: To open the gate click on it and the ghost of Batzorig’s mom should appear and open the gate for you

I’m stuck on Purrvis, this is my team:
Lv. 42 minstrel with maxed out sword skill and a uber miracle sword
Lv. 29 gladiator/Lv. 35 warrior with maxed out sword skill and a Dragon Slayer
Lv. 41 martial artist with maxed out claw skill and fire claws
Lv. 39 priest with maxed out staff skill and a driller pillar
some of you have a weaker team, but have beaten the end boss already, i just don’t get it. any advice?
If you’re stuck on Purrvis, use Egg on a warrior who knows falcon slash and use gigaslash. then you’ve defeated him.
