ModeratorWwwwwaaayyy off topic, but i have a request.
Without fail, any time I just enter Wu after Liu Bei declares himself emporer, within my first 2 random encounters – i get my ass handed to me by Taishi Ci. Without fail. Doesn't matter what mod I'm playing (assuming TC is in the area).
I wouldn't mind getting to the first salt peter cave without being raped every time I first venture into Wu.

ModeratorEasy way around that unfy. Smoke pot + cave trick

Moderatormidknight: yeah, i ended up doing that in ludmeister's v1.x mod. i still just approach wu the same way as if first time playing it…. and i still, without fail, encounter Taishi Ci within the first two, maybe three RE's on the way to the first castle.
i know there's no fix for it, i just wanted to rant cause it happened again last night :)

ModeratorWanted to know this, what are the addresses for portraits and sprites for Rebel Force, Pirate Force, and Brigand force?
Also, what hex can I change to slightly move the names in the GENERAL screen. Whenever a name exceeds 6 characters it chops off.

ModeratorQuote:Wanted to know this, what are the addresses for portraits and sprites for Rebel Force, Pirate Force, and Brigand force?I think you can do this in DoaEditor but you have to switch the portrait background color first. If you can't change it in DoaEditor just use this:
Officer structure notes (from various sources, as well as DoaEd code)
STR
INT
Region
Sprite
Sprite color (AP as enemy)
DP as enemy
Soldiers (Enemy)
Soldiers (Ally)
Tactics
AGI
portrait 1 <—-
portrait 2 <—-
portrait 3 <—-
portrait 4 <—-
portrait 5 <—-
portrait 6 <—-
portrait BG (single-color BG only) <—-
unknown
unknown
Name spacing
Officer name
For random enemies this data is in the 0x32800-0x32882 area (load the doaetable.tbl into your hex editor).
Quote:Also, what hex can I change to slightly move the names in the GENERAL screen. Whenever a name reaches 6 characters it chops off the rest due to the adjustments you made to the screen.Play with the values at 0x3EA3D-0x3EA3E.

Moderator00:BABD:A0 0C LDY #$0C <– Call Salve for "Life"
I checked at BABD and the value is 60, for some reason Life is restoring full HP, I think its calling the wrong value or something.

Moderatorso rebel force portrait color is address is 32874, but changing the portrait banks is kind of confusing…
November 30, 2011 at 2:35 pm #39920MiDKnighT
ModeratorThere are 6 'slices'. Usually they will be in order unless it's a generic portrait. Example: D0 D1 D2 D3 D4 D5

ModeratorI figured it out, just had to tinker with it a bit. I changed the value right after the portrait BG color to the bank file and have now souped up all the generic pirates/ brigands/rebels, etc w/ portraits and souped up stats to balance out the agility enhancements.
Also, what address can I change to make "LIFE" not select revive which seems that is what it is doing.
Also, when some officer learns the "life" tactic, it doesnt appear in the tactics menu, it still says Raise… gonna check into that.EDIT: got it, it was another issue with tactic priority, 3B8ED needs to be changed to at least 3
EDIT2: Okay, maybe this was my fault for switching tactics around… so LIFE is the low hp one, and RAISE is the Revive one…

ModeratorHey lud if you're reading this…question for ya. How did you get the STR/INT/AGI bars to extend to the end of the tactic box? I figured I'd ask you and save the hassle of trying to dig it out :)
