KeymasterHmm, even after resizing 300% and it being big enough, I can't differentiate the sprites because of the colors. Maybe I should just try to load newsprites1.bmp into it's extra bank (which no, I didn't use up with portraits – only used three portrait strips at 40810 44810 and 48810).
That'd definitely be cool if Meteorstrike came by. He certainly wouldn't need to worry about moderators around here lol, we've never really needed one. With him and all the other DoaE experts here I don't think there would be much that couldn't be conquered.

ModeratorIf we could lure Meteorstrike over here we'd have one heck of a DoaE modding community. Not that we don't already… But Meteorstrike is the guy when it comes to DoaE assembly hacking. :thumright:

php feidian.php -ci nes8,1,1008,0×70090 newsprites1.bmp YuanShao_DoaE.nes
Just switch to your ROM name.

KeymasterHmm, I just did that and it seems to have loaded it into the portraits lol. I mean, I go to sprites to select and there are no new ones (in DoaEditor) and then I look at the last bank in the portraits and I see it has some garbbled shit that looks like sprites huohu

ModeratorI know what's going on…
1. The last portrait page and the first sprite page are the same. So if you load sprites into 0x70090 you're giving up your last portrait page.
2. DoaEditor doesn't display sprites from the ROM (yet). You'll have a blank sprite in the tool if you are using a new one.

ParticipantThat's too cool that Meteorstrike might be showing up here. Ni-ice.
When all else fails... manipulate the source code.

Just tweeked Lud's code just a bit:
0x38601: B4F9B46161618560
0x38598: 03
0x385A3: 05
0x3861E: 10

Great stuff Lud, thanks. Will add this to the guide with credit due of course.

KeymasterQuote:1. The last portrait page and the first sprite page are the same. So if you load sprites into 0x70090 you're giving up your last portrait page.Right on. Wasn't planning on filling all the banks of portraits anyway just thought it was funny to see the preview of the sprites in the portrait area for that bank.
Quote:2. DoaEditor doesn't display sprites from the ROM (yet). You'll have a blank sprite in the tool if you are using a new one.Thing is, there aren't any extra sprites in DoaEd – no blank ones or anything. Just the normal sprites. But I know the sprites are in there cause like I said I see them in the last portrait bank.
Do I have to hand apply the sprites for each officer?
Quote:3. Assigning your new sprite to a general. The current sprites available are 00-53. If you have loaded pages 1C, 1D, and 1E with sprites then you can now use slots 54-D1.Welcome to Lord Yuan Shu Walkthrough Guides ·

That looks great MiDKnighT. Good job thinking of that display Ludmeister.

53=Water
54=Warrior Dude
55=GuanYuD2

ModeratorI'm determined to get T.P. back on there. Here's what I have so far…

3EA8C: 03 <— moves equip box down 1
3EDA7: FB23631F63FB <— writes "T.P." – after that I need a function… F8 ## ## to load the T.P.

ModeratorIt appears that these stat window adjustments have got you all riled up :) I personally find it to start getting cluttered up with another indentifier unless you plan on having TP as just a numerical value. Not sure if I like Agility in the middle or not, but the process to move stuff around is a neat concept thus far. Trying to implement some of this stuff into the mod already.

0x38601: B4F9B46161618560 <- this starts at 38600, not 38601, is this an intentional move of code? Or should if B4 used to be A8
November 3, 2011 at 1:38 am #39668MiDKnighT
ModeratorYes it's an intentional move. I'm moving A.P. back to give room for AGI.
The hex I gave should be correct. Looking at a "general" screen now with those values.
November 3, 2011 at 3:13 am #39669Lord Yuan Shu
KeymasterI'm going to make the switch for the AGI. To be honest I don't care about the TP too much, but if you get that on there that's cool too.
I'm trying to make sense of who is who in the DoaE 2 Sprite list (newsprites1.bmp). But damn I need to play through DoaE 2 my memory is poor.
Quote:Either that or change spritetable.tbl in the DoaEditor tables folder. Example:53=Water
54=Warrior Dude
55=GuanYuD2
"Warrior Dude"? That's DoaE 2 Liu Bei, homeboy!
Thank goodness I found Yuan Shu early. Here are the others I found in DoaE 2 newsprites1.bmp but again I need to go through to confirm some of these and find out who I am missing.
54=Liu Bei
55=Guan Yu
56=Yan Liang
57=Wen Chou (?)
58=Yuan Shu
59=Zhao Yun
5A=Ma Chao
5B=Lu Bu
5C=Zhou Cang
5D=fat horse Meng Da
5E=Ji Ling (? – possibly Che Zhou)
5F=?
60=?
61=?
62=Taishi Ci
