Scratch all the above, I think it was b/c my text banks were overflowing b/c using the [OFFICER] code really varies between people. I think I'm going to have to stick with leaving it on it's own line to prevent that.
When trying to duel Zhuge Liang, usually he was sending Zhang Fei out, but when I killed him, it froze when ZGL was challenged again. Maybe something messed up with them selecting someone to send out who is dead. It glitched up FYI

There's a nasty bug where if the enemy initiates a duel and is on the losing end, the slashing code makes everybody jump all around the screen. For that reason I've disabled slashing when the enemy initiates the duel for now :(

The taunt refusal, 2nd one down from Water/Fire protection is not switching portraits at the correct time and if I get a message it says my troops doubting.
Example: Lu Xun challenges Jin Xuan to duel.
Jin Xuan denial message plays but still shows Lu Xun's portrait.
Doubt message runs but says "Lu Xun's troops doubt his ability to lead"
Lu Xun is not doubted on next turn and is fully functional.

Sonic I'm not seeing those problems at all on my end.
Perhaps the patching didn't go perfectly… Try just backing up your lists:
4450-446F (mismatch list – winner)
4470-448F (mismatch list – loser)
4490-44CF = no kill list

If you want to play with "Duel", "Charge", etc… I have a test copy of the Yuan Shao mod with the latest. I have not rearranged the tactics though so "Duel" is in the Shui Jian slot:

I took another look at the portrait switch left/right thing and it doesn't look reasonably feasible. I think I'm ok with just the enemy mug popping up in your portrait slot to talk smack. Unless anybody has any good ideas (that don't cause me to have to re-write the whole thing) I think I'm done… I'll hold off on publishing the final code in the guide to give a little time for people to catch bugs.
Ah, I think I found my issue. I'm assuming you put code directly @ the end of your text and thus there is no room/very little for text expansion, so what I'm essentially doing is writing over the code via DOAEditor. Any way you can provide some extra space @ the end of the new text banks for a little expansion of taunt dialogue?
My rule of thumb is 16 characters per line x3 lines so that's 48 per box X however many boxes you have in terms of space. Not sure if the [>]'s and the [END]'s etc count as characters or not.
