ParticipantThere’s an injured patient here. *gasp* It’s Gilbert! Fortunately, he’s injured…pretty badly.
Fix’d.

ParticipantDon’t know if it’s the place but… Since LordYuanShu started a FAQ on FF4, and there’s this thread here, I thought I’d post it here. I had a conversation with lordyuanshu recently with a secret I found long ago:

In the last area (The one before Zemus/Zeromus), there is an enemy that can drop the best accessory in the game: The Crystal RING. I don’t remember which one, I just remember that it is EXTREMELY RARE, but once you have 5 of them, you’re really happy!!
Hope that helps in some way!
I can confirm this, I just don’t remember which enemy it was, but I know the dropping rate of the Crystal Ring is as rare as the Pink Tail (Although, the enemy encounter in question isn’t as rare as the pink jelly/puff, depending on which version of the game you’re playing.)
Also, if you’re playing GBA FF4, ignore this, because I think you can actually find crystal rings in the secret dungeon and/or there’s a better ring yet.
Any additional infos about this would be much appreciated!

KeymasterIt must be Zemus Breath or Zemus Spirit. You fight them a lot towards the end of that second part of the Lunar Subterranean. The area before you fight lots of Masks and Behemoth’s so it could be them too (and I’m probably forgetting other monsters because I usually just run through all those fights).
Oh and Zhang Lu, if you read this sometime, do continue your guide. I did the FF2 US version (the easy version) so yours will have different strategy since it’s much harder.

ParticipantI will continue it eventually, I really have been swamped with other things.
I did finish a solo-Cecil FF4 run though. It was harder than I thought it would be.

KeymasterShit for real? So did you just kill off the rest of the characters? Also was this on the J or US ?

ParticipantI like FF4, but I had the same problem with FF5 where I get to the last dungeon and the game’s length just makes it so I don’t give a fuck about playing anymore. Still, the meat of the entire game was pretty damned good.
You have to remember, though; the very thing that makes you a nerd is that your enthusiasms are totally unrelatable and non-marketable to most of the world. For example, anime and celibacy. - Seanbaby

ParticipantMy brother always did that: get to the last level and then forget about the game. Maybe RPGs are just too long?

Another reason a lot of people quit before the end… the much harder/longer battles are not part of the story line.
That is why I don’t finish every bit of some games. FFXII is a good example of too much crap outside the main story line.
FF2 US Version is my all time favorite. I need to download it.

ParticipantI have done that, once you knock out the initial story parts, the rest just doesn’t feel as exciting anymore.

KeymasterYep it happens sometimes. Plus with FF2 the grinding is kinda stale and takes time. And you need to do a bit of it to prepare for Zeromus.

ParticipantGod I remember almost crying when I played ff2 the first time and couldn’t beat zeromus. Games were so much harder when I was 10 or so.
